Monitoring the activity of selected groups of skeletal muscles during squats on balance pads using EMG.
Šidla, Jiří ; Bedáňová, Kamila (referee) ; Adamík, Richard (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of monitoring the activity of selected groups of skeletal muscles during squats on balance pads. Thigh muscles of 21 probands (21,81 ± 2,06 years old, 184,53 ± 5,19 cm, 72,50 ± 4,75 kg) were measured using EMG when they did squats without balance pad and with five balance pads (BOSU concavely, BOSU convexly, T-bow, foam pad and Vicore). Ten of these persons was measured also with inflatable balance pod. Mean and mean of the 10 highest peaks of filtered and normalised measured signals were statistically analysed. There were some statistic differences of both parametres between measurement without balance pad and measurements with some balance pads (BOSU concavely, BOSU convexly, Vicore and balance pod) using analysis of all thigh muscles together, analysis of anterior-posterior stability and analysis of dexter-sinister stability. There were some statistic differences between these balance pads and the other two pads (T-bow, foam pad).
Influence of power precondition at leisure time athlets
Schützner, Michal ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Baláš, Jiří (referee)
Title: Influence of power precondition at leisure time athlets Objectives: The main objective of this work is compile bibliographic research, that deals with power preconditions and training requirements. Furthermore, to build a skilled work that will provide clear, concise and comprehensive information on the subject. The aim is to point out the principles of strength training, the composition of the training unit and marginally to mention nutrition and regeneration. Methods: The method of literature search used in this work was based mainly on the collection, sorting and evaluation of relevant informations. Results: Muscle strength is a prerequisite for human locomotion. Before you start strength training, it must be assessed locomotive faculties of the individual and according to create adequate training unit corresponding to his forceful options. If the strength training is properly conducted and supported by expertise follows of this work, the strength training ranks among the appropriate physical activity for sporting and non-sporting individuals. Keywords: motion, strength, muscle, muscle contraction, posture, hypokinesia, muscle hypertrophy, strength training, training unit, weight training, nutrition, regeneration
Comparative analysis of selected coordinate indicators in front crawl swiming technique and crawling
Vodička, Radek ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
AABBSSTTRRAACCTT Title: Comparative analysis of selected coordinate indicators in front crawl swimming technique and crawling. Purposes: The first aim of thesis is to compare coordinate indictors of average swimming cycle and average crawling cycle. Methods: Surface electromyography of muscular activity combined with cinematography analysis used synchronized video recording. Intraindividual comparative analysis and subsequent interindividual comparison of timing muscular activation in one average swimming and crawling cycle. Results: The timing of muscular activity of m. pectoralis major and m. latissimus dorsi during swimming cycle was identical for all probands. This phenomenon was not found in crawling . Key words: Swimming technique, Front Crawl, crawling, EMG, muscle, locomotion, shoulder girdle
The role of PCr/CK shuttle in adult rat myocardium under normoxic hypoxic conditions
Honcová, Lada ; Žurmanová, Jitka (advisor) ; Novotný, Jiří (referee)
The creatine kinase (CK) is an important enzyme of cell energy metabolism in excitable tissue. It occurs in four isoforms. Two cytosolic isoforms are functional in mono and hetero dimers and two mitochondrial isoforms reach tetramer and octamer forms. Its primary function is the regeneration of ATP close to ATPases and phosphocreatine pool from creatine and ATP, which gives its posphate in places of acute requirements of high energy demand. Dysfunction of CK is connected with heart, muscle and neurological diseases and CK is often used as a clinical indicator. This work is focused to the role of CK in energy metabolism of hypoxia adapted myocardium. CK thaks to production of ADP in mitochondria decreases a membrane potential as well as production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS cause most of damage during ischemic heart disease and infarct of myocardium. That`s why cardioprotective effects and CK itself during hypoxia are investigated.
Porcelain disease in crayfish: biology, impacts and distribution
Jelínková, Tereza ; Balcarová, Eva (advisor) ; Vávra, Jiří (referee)
The porcelain disease is a disease affecting crayfish caused by the microsporidium Thelohania contejeani. This intracellular parasite attacks muscle cells of the host and fills them with spores. This leads to white or opaque colouration of the abdominal muscle of crayfish, which is characteristic for this disease. The parasite gradually attacks more muscle fibers which probably leads to decrease of locomotor activity of affected crayfish and finally may result in their death. T. contejeani at low prevalences does not represent a real danger to crayfish populations and thus it is not as serious threat as crayfish plague. However, it has been associated with several cases of mass mortalities too. This thesis summarizes essential findings about infection by this parasite, analyzes its impacts to the host and factors that can influence transmission and progress of this disease. It also describes a life cycle of T. contejeani, summarizes records of the occurrence of this parasite and evaluates risks which it poses to crayfish populations. Finally, methods used to detect infection are described. Keywords: Thelohania contejeani, porcelain disease, crayfish, microsporidia, parasite, muscle
