Staňková, A. Company social responsibility in the hotel industry. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2019. This diploma thesis deals with the concept of corporate social responsibility in hotel industry. First, the topic is introduced in literature overview, in which both Czech and foreign secondary sources are used. The main content of the diploma thesis is a questionnaire survey among hotel visitors which aim is to analyse the impact of corporate social responsibility on consumer behaviour and their overall attitude to this issue. The survey also focuses on the visitor’s loyalty in connection with social responsibility. Also, current situation among hotel facilities in the Czech Republic is analysed, including conditions for the implementation of socially responsible activities. In this case, secondary sources published by professional organizations of the Czech Republic were used as well as questionnaire survey among hotel facilities. One of the findings of both surveys is a lack of intentional implementation of socially responsible activities and therefore insufficient promotion. Insufficient promotion leads to low awareness of visitors and minimal impact on their consumer behaviour. From the visitors’ point of view, the most important measures are considered environmental protection measures, activities supporting local culture and the use of local products. Based on literature overview and research findings, practical solutions and recommendations for hotel service providers are suggested.
Vplyv ekologických ocenení na výber ubytovania v hoteloch

This bachelor thesis is concerned with environmental awards of hotels and their impact on the customer’s choice of hotels. The theoretical part describes specific terms connected with the hospitality industry, ecohotels, green management and various ecological awards. They enable better understanding of the practical part of the thesis. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the impact of the awareness of diverse environmental awards on the customer's choice of hotels. A survey addressing this problematique whose results are analysed at the end of the practical part was used in order to evaluate the results properly. The survey analysis indicates the postitive attitude of respondents to environ-mental procedures, which are used in hotels. However, the knowledge of ecological awards is not a key factor which could influence the demand of accomodation.
Proposal of Modifications and Completion of Communication Mix of a Hotel

The thesis deals with an analysis of marketing communication of the Avanti Hotel resident in the city of Brno and subsequent processing of communication mix proposals. The work aims at designing completion proposals that will help improve the current situation of the hotel. The work consists of three parts – theoretical (that includes explained terms from the given field), practical (in which the current state of the company is assessed) and proposal (with proposals how to meet the set objectives).
Development of Competitiveness of Company

The content of this master’s thesis deals with competitiveness of the accommodation establishment „Jacob Brno“ through its brand. The current situation of the company is dismantled according to theoretical knowledge. Based on the value chain theory, the value creation process for the customer is further dismantled and compared to competing company. According to the variety of analyses, it is proposed to extend the supply of the accommodation establishment to ancillary services. This includes services such as a conference facility or an improved way to accommodate guests.
Revenue Management in small accommodation facilities

The topic of this thesis is Revenue Management and application of its principles in a small accommodation facility. There are many publications from Czech and international scholars, dedicated to Revenue Management as an indispensable part of any industry. In this thesis its main principles, which were created for use by airline companies and big hotels. This work describes application of their adaptated version in a small hotel and results of this application.
The Evaluation of Work Motivation of Employees in the Hospitality Industry

The aim of the Master Thesis is to determine level of motivation of employees of selected hotel in the Czech Republic. The hospitality industry is specific by high demands on human work. Due to these demands, motivated staff can be a significant competitive advantage to the hotel. The objective of the Master Thesis was achieved thank to the questionnaire survey exploring opinions and attitudes of the hotel staff, an interview with the general manager, stories of the employees and a draft of an incentive program. The Thesis also includes SWOT analysis of motivation in the hotel. The survey showed dissatisfaction of employees with wages, good relations with colleagues and stimulating effect of only a few of the provided benefits. General manager of the hotel emphasizes regular feedback, recognition and financial rewards if the goals are achieved. The benefit of the Thesis is the proposed incentive program based on the individualized Cafeteria system of the offered benefits.
The issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy

The aim of the dissertation titled the issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy is to justify a cultural and social importance and need for developing disciplines - Hospitality and Catering at the college/university level. Sub-objectives judge the current state of professional education in the studied area. The main output is the concept of professional standards in defining key competencies and sample profile of a graduate of bachelor and master study programme of the examined field. The combination of several methods and techniques was used for the processing of this study - a comparison of higher education environment in the analysis field in the Czech Republic and Europe, including survey results from 556 respondents, observation and personal interviews. Results of the evaluated analysis and synthesis helped to formulate conclusions. The educational model for higher levels of hospitality and catering allows modifications within the study program - with regard to the requirements of professional environments. Based on survey results, it was defined competencies of graduates, which are required by employers of surveyed industries.
