Agenda Setting in the Issue of Refugeedom: Analysis of Connection Between Media Exposure and Perceived salience of the Issue

The diploma thesis concerns itself with the analysis of connection between the media exposure to refugeedom topics and the perceived salience of the issue. Combined qualitative and quantitative research designs ruled by QUAN → qual scheme are used in the thesis. In the quantitative part the effect of exposure to refugeedom-related news on the perceived salience of the subject is constructed using TV and newspaper viewing figures while controlling socio- demographic characteristics of respondents. Binary logistic regression was used to find the influence. The analysis shows that the exposure to content concerning immigration and refugees has influenced the rated importance of the issue. However, there are other variables not included in the model which are affecting the salience. The qualitative approach offers insights into the relationship discovered with quantitative methods. In-depth interviews showed people are aware of the media influence mainly regarding topics they are thinking about and discussing with their social surroundings. Content analysis of chosen periodicals targeting at university students

This thesis presents a complex view of the specifics of the media titles designed for college students in the Czech market, their historical development and current situation. It focuses closer on analysis of commercial media targeting university students. Titles named EuroCampus and Studenta (formerly Stip) were used in comprehensive analysis. The combination of suitably selected quantitative and qualitative methods of research of media content and opinions of audience provides important answers to questions such as: if students have knowledge of this kind of media titles, how the titles are perceived by this audience or if the editorial and advertising content brings original topics and interesting information which may be helpful after graduation. The theory of this thesis is defined by the current situation in the media market in the Czech Republic. Another important theoretical point is creating the typology of student media titles and analyze the history of publishing magazines EuroCampus and Studenta. The practical part is based on theoretical background of methodology explored by thematic agenda, content analysis of selected titles and in-depth interviews with the audience. The topic of the thesis concerns the everyday life of Russian speaking students in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to capture certain features of the everyday life of Russian-speaking students in the Czech Republic. It consists of several chapters. The theoretical part is devoted to defining the key concept of "everyday life", its characteristics, a brief overview of selected books and theories related to this issue, as well as a description of basic theoretical bases in the sociology of everyday life. The historical part deals with the description of selected daily activities and focuses on the life of Russian speaking students in the territory of Czechoslovakia in the 1920s. century. The methodological part describes what qualitative research is, how the data and the actual course of research were obtained. The practical part deals with the results of the research.
Perception of new media as a threat on an example of Black Mirror series

Thesis Perception of new media as a threat on an example of Black Mirror series deals with the Black Mirror series viewers' stand on new media threats. The aim is to detect if the series affected their opinions or behavior with new media in any way. This aim will be persuaded by using the method of semi-structured interviews. The topic of new media and their negative impacts on individuals and society is in sociology represented increasingly. Black Mirror series literally aiming to set up a black mirror for our lives with ever-evolving technologies adds a value that can affect the respondents' emotions and opinions on this topic. The theoretical part describes the transitions of society in modern day - concept of network society and risk society and explains the terms threat and risk. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on current new media threats. The second, practical, part describes the specific methodological procedures used in this thesis and thus the methods of thematic analysis and methods of qualitative interviews. This will be followed by a description of the research steps, a description of the results and the results interpretation.
Cooperation of non-governmental organisations and the Department of social and legal protection of children in Usti nad Labem and near surroundings

Main target of this master thesis is to determine ways of cooperation between Office for Social and Legal Protection of Children and nonprofit non-governmental organisations (NGOs) active in the same professional area in Ústí nad Labem and its surroundings. The paper introduces a case study aiming for deeper understanding of views and attitudes of workers from both institutions, their interconnectedness and interaction, identifying shortcomings and suggesting areas with potential of improvement. The theoretical framework consists of different typologies of government - NGOs relations, which are then applied to the context of the chosen location that represents a town with many socially excluded areas and other negative phenomena. This results in a specifically divided society and tense atmosphere in which both institutions operate as representatives of government and civil society.

Možnosti zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti malých a středních vinařských podniků v České republice

Trávníček, J. Possibilities to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized wineries. The diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2017. The diploma thesis is focused on the possibility of increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized wine companies in the Czech Republic. Primary research was in the form of a questionnaire survey and was filled out by 77 SMEs, divided according to the contest rules of Winery 2014 were also obtained in-depth interviews with the finalists of Winery 2014 in the category of small and medium-sized wineries consequently a winery: Kořínek, Špalek, J. Stávek, Sonberk, Vladimír Tetur and Žernoseckým winery, which is used for benchmarking. Subsequently, the determination of whether a key factor in the success of small wineries know-how, a key factor for the success of medium-sized winery special regime growing of grapevine using Pearson's chi-square test of significance level of 5%. In both cases, rejected independence. Another key factor in the success of small and medium-sized wineries, vineyard ownership is verified by a one-sided test of the relative frequency of significance level of 5%. When more than 60% of SMEs in the field considered owned vineyards as crucial to maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Finally, it is recommended to increase employee know-how with the help of universities and professional organizations. Planting and buying vineyards and their cultivation in a particular mode of cultivation.

The bachelor thesis deals with consumer behaviour when shopping for organic food and influence of social factors on decision making process. In order to achieve given objectives in-depth interviews with consumers (n = 60) and sellers (n = 12) were conducted. Primary data were supplemented with data from secondary sources and findings from observations in the shops. In conclusion general recommendations were formulated based on the results, which were then subsequently specified for a particular store.

The diploma thesis deals with an issue of shopping environment in the shops with lingerie. The main task of the thesis is to propose marketing measures which will help to create a suitable environment in the lingerie´s shops and to make the whole purchasing process easier for buyers and sellers as well. The thesis is focused on identifying the factors, emotions and feelings that affect´s and influence the customer during the purchasing process. It deals also with determining the impact of individual elements on the customer of shopping environment of the lingerie´s shops. Qualitative and quantitative research was used by utilizing in-depth interviews with potential customers (n = 31) and questionnaire survey (n = 326). Mystery shopping (n = 10) was performed as a complement to the research. Research results shows´ that customers are most affected by shop staff and the biggest problem during shopping is trying lingerie.

Hublová, J. Consumers and packaging free shops. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. The diploma thesis deals with packaging free shops with an emphasis on consumer behaviour. The main task of the thesis is to propose general marketing recommendations for packaging free shops and specific recommendations for the selected store. The thesis focuses on the experience of Czech consumers with packaging free shops and their willingness to buy there. To reach the goal, in-depth interviews (n = 26) were used, with shoppers and also with consumers who have not experienced this way of shopping. A questionnaire survey (n = 379) was carried out as well. Based on the results of the research, general recommen-dations were formulated and later specified for the selected shop.
