Iliotibial band syndrome

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematics of the iliotibial band syndrome. The iliotibial band syndrome is one of the most common knee injuries in runners, but we can also come across cyclists or triathletes with this injury. The thesis divides into two parts. The existing data and information about the matter are presented in the theoretical part. Anatomy and function of the iliotibial band, aetiology of the syndrome and its development, the mechanism of the overuse and then final diagnostics and treatment are described. In the practical part is presented a case study of an amateur cyclist with the iliotibial band syndrome, which constitutes an initial examination, treatment and autotherapy plan and subsequent final examination. After 10 therapy sessions, the patient did not notice any changes in his condition, but he gave a lower pain rating than at the beginning and the range of active and passive movement on the affected leg was increased.

However, not only adults but also children and adolescents suffer from this condition. Back pain in childhood is often overlooked, downplayed and from a research point of view is not given enough attention. It turns out that back pain in adolescence can be one of the predictive factors for the development of back pain in adulthood. This bachelor thesis includes basic information about the anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of the human spine, pain, problems and risk factors for back pain in children and adolescents, which were available from scientific articles and studies. The aim of the work was to address a sufficient number of Czech children through a questionnaire and obtain information about their experiences with back pain in the period before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The obtained data show that the epidemiological situation regarding Covid-19, in which a lockdown was ordered in the Czech Republic, had a significant impact on the lives of young people....
Comorbidity of psychical and autoimmune diseases

Mental and autoimmune disorders represent a wide range of different diseases and are currently one of the most common health problems. In recent years, a significant association between these two types of disorders has been observed, supported by both their frequent coexistence and other important findings such as shared genetic risk factors, the discovery of neuronal surface antibodies or immune system changes related to some mental disorders. This work attempts to map the autoimmune diseases that occur more often or rarely in patients with various mental disorders (and vice versa) and also describes possible mechanisms that may play a significant role in the development of this phenomenon. Vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením na SOŠ

In the Bachelor thesis is handled the topic of the education of pupils with mental disability in secondary vocational school. The aim of the theoretical part is to define the concepts mental disability and mental retardation, describe etiology and symptomatology of mental retardation, classification of mental disability according to degree of mental disability. Also describe the possibilities of secondary education of pupils with mental disability, define the teacher assistant and describe individual educational plan, school coun-selling facilities, assessment and classification of pupils with mental disability. The methods used for processing the theoretical part is study of professional literary and internet sources, legislation and laws their analysis and synthesis. The aim of the practical part is an objective to find out what attitudes teachers secondary vocational school take to educate of pupils with mental disability in secondary vocational schools. Further find out the experience teachers with pupils intellectual disability and their readiness to educate pupils with mental disability. Also capture, what according to teachers, would change if they should, or if they have pupils with mental disability in the class. The quantitative research is used to processing the practical part and instrument of collection data is a questionnaire designed for teachers of the secondary vocational school. Respondents are tea-chers of the secondary vocational school in Brno, Purkyňova, funded organization. The data from the questionnaires is handled by using descriptive statistics.
Clinical and nursing aspects of patients treated surgically for HPV-related ofopharyngeal tumours

Introduction: Oropharyngeal tumours belong to the most common malignancies situated in the head and neck area. In the past, their incidence has been associated with classical risk factors (smoking and alcohol use). In the recent years, the increase of oropharyngeal carcinomas resulting from HPV (human papilloma virus) infection incidence has been observed. The change of their aetiology also implies a number of clinical differences, the most important being a significantly better survival prognosis in patients with HPV+ carcinomas. Aims: The main goal of this thesis was to characterize correctly patients with oropharyngeal carcinomas and to identify different specifics of nursing intensive care for these patients. Methods: The quantitative prospective study involved 30 patients following their surgical treatment of oropharyngeal carcinoma, hospitalised in an intensive care unit. The patients were divided into 3 groups: HPV+ non-smokers, HPV+ smokers, HPV- smokers. Results: The study confirmed the demographic differences between individual patient groups. The HPV+ non-smokers group is characterized by a lower age in average, which is significantly reflected in a reduced duration of hospital stay. Possibilities of support of motivation at pupils with specific learning disabilities in special pedagogical intervention

This thesis focuses on the possibilities for influencing the motivation of pupils with specific learning disabilities during special pedagogical interventions conducted at schools. The aim of this study is to determine which of the approaches used by specialised pedagogues within the field of specialised pedagogical practice are most effective in increasing the motivation of pupils with learning disabilities and why. One of the sub-goals of this work is to describe the principles for strengthening motivation in special pedagogical interventions. This thesis is divided into two parts: the teoretical and the research part. The theoretical part deals with specific learning disabilities, terminological definitions, etiology and reeducation. It also focuses on motivation, its types, influencing factors and its application. The research part with the use of qualatitive research methods seeks to explore perception of special pedagogues on the role of motivation and support of pupils with specific learning disabilities motivation during the intervention. This bachelor thesis is focused on osteochondrosis dissecans disease, its etiology, treatment methods and following rehabilitation. Thesis also analyzes the interactions between the disease and sport activity, the possible emergence od the disorder caused by sport activity and whether the consequent treatment affects both daily and sport activities. The research part consists of questioned men and women eho had suffers from this disorder or have just been going through it.
