The Analysis of current forms and methods of senior citizens' education

This thesis deals with the possibilities of education of elderly citizens in the Czech Republic. It compromises of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part of the thesis the characteristics of gerontopedagogy and gerontodidactics were determined, and further the possibilities of education of seniors were outlined. The research in the empirical part of this thesis regards the adequateness of the offers of educational institutions for the elderly. The aim of the research is to determine whether the offer of the institutions in selected Prague districts, which currently provide learning opportunities for elderly, is sufficient for the purposes of their needs and interests. The ultimate research question is: What is the opinion of the respondents on the range of offers of the educational institutions? Further sub-questions were asked, regarding the number of educational institutions, the variety of activities offered, the lack of educational activities, promotion of the activities, the cooperation of the educational institutions with the social welfare department and with feedback from the elderly. The diploma thesis "A parent as a party to educational policy: Preschool education from the point of view of parents" deals with parents as participants of educational policy who, first of all, use various options when ensuring education for their preschool age children. In separate chapters three areas of life-long education are presented - formal, non-formal and informal which a parent chooses for his/her child. The educational policy is influenced by a parent's decisions, attitudes and strategies. What are his/her approaches with respect to individual areas, his/her expectations, whether the quality and offer corresponds to their conception, that is what results from this thesis.
Activity of the Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in České Budějovice. The lifestory of a black and white flower of the city

The dissertation deals with the historical activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in České Budějovice between the years 1850 - 1956. The thesis is especially based on the study of archival materials. Each chapter comprehensively describes the history of the three branches where the religious Sisters performed their activities. The branches are listed in chronological order of when they were established in the city. A public hospital is mentioned first, followed by an institutional complex of orphanages and schools at the former Vienna gate, and the group is concluded with an asylum for elderly people in need established in 1888. Particular attention is paid to the circumstances concerning the establishment of each branch, its background, ordinary and extraordinary days that were mostly mentioned in local chronicles; and two local superiors who had a major impact on the development and character of the community are also mentioned in the dissertation. TITLE: Forms and procedures for implementation of the education of hearing disabled children and pupils AUTHOR: Lenka Soukupová, DiS. DEPARTMENT: Special Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Eva Mrkosová, CSc. ABSTRACT: In my work I have focused on the problems of hearing-impaired children and methods which are used in their education. In the theoretical part I try to describe speech education of hearing impaired children - how the mother of the deaf child should communicate and stimulate him to communicate. Then I speak about communication systems using by hearing-impaired people. Afterwards I describe the educational opportunities of children with hearing impairments, primarily I mention institution which are assisting parents with a child with hearing disabilities- they work with them since birth and inform them about other learning opportunities. In the next chapter I present forms of special education of students with disabilities. In the practical part I concerned with how teachers work with hearing impaired children, what methods of work they use in the classroom use and how children respond to them. Marketing of Education

This thesis deals with marketing management of educational institutions. In the theoretical part, its relevance in Czech conditions is reasoned, compares its specifics with the marketing management of manufacturing enterprises and deals with unclear proposals for its conceptualization by proposing a scheme of a possible procedure. In the practical part, this procedure is applied and brings recommendations for changes in the Sociological-economic studies study programme and warnings for similarly concepted programmes. Although the study programme has the needed background in the dimensions of personal, international relations and a possibilities of meeting the image of Nicher for a specific group of above-average students of social sciences and economics, even though it has strict entrance requirements it fails to recruit suitable students of a small amount of applicants because it currently does not fully utilise a potential of the product and possibilities of communication.
Educational Needs of Managers of Kindergartens in the Central Bohemian Region

4 ABSTRACT: The bachelor thesis deals with identifying educational needs of managers of kindergartens in Central Bohemian Region and educational opportunities in Central Bohemia and Prague. The aim of this research was to find those needs, monitor managers' level of satisfaction with current educational opportunities in the region. It also searched for a dependence of the priorities of the educational needs on the amount of years spent in the leading position. The scientific literature is presented in the theoretical part of this work. It also provides an overview of the current status of pre-school education and legal requirements for the job. The key point of the research is based on a survey among managers of kindergartens of the Central Bohemian Region and its subsequent analysis. The survey results lead to the creation of a plastic view at the educational opportunities for the managers in the context with their educational needs. The final part of this work presents the results of investigations to confirm managers' interest in further education. Furthermore, it shows their satisfaction with educational options in the context of their needs and the results of the investigation that do not confirm the dependence of the selection of educational areas on the number of years spent in a leading position....
Educational needs of kindergarten's headmasters at different stages of their careers

The bachelor thesis deals with educational needs of kindergarten headmasters in different stages of their professional practice and with opportunities of further education for these workers. Considering the scope of the topic, this broad subject is narrowed down to the kindergarten headmasters in the region of Ústí nad Labem and training opportunities in the region. The theoretical part is based on technical literature applicable laws and regulations, various internet sources and also on our own experience. The basis for the research part was a questionnaire survey and its subsequent evaluation. The work gives an insight into the diversity of educational needs of kindergarten headmasters at the beginning of their professional practice and in the end of it. It also answers the question, whether there is sufficient offer of further education even for workers with years of experience in management of kindergartens. Hana Králová Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts THE AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN FOREIGN SERVICE BETWEEN 1868-1918 Abstract Emerging from the reforms of the second half of the 18th century, the body of loyal civil servants gradually transformed itself into an efficient bureaucratic machine, which fully ensured the operation of the multinational Habsburg Monarchy until its disintegration. For many, a position within the civil service went hand in hand with attaining a certain prestige and rank within society, although the financial situation of lower and even mid - ranking civil servants was problematic at best. The foreign service, especially its diplomatic and central administration branch, undoubtedly ranked among the most prestigious parts of the civil service. Candidates, apart from being required to have the necessary level of educational attainment, were subject to a rigorous selection process focusing especially on their language skills. The diplomatic service also maintained its exclusivity by requiring candidates to provide proof of sufficient income, which limited access to candidates from among the wealthy elite, that is especially from among the traditional and new nobility a s well as from among the well-off individuals of bourgeois descent. Educational needs of kindergartens headmasters in Prague

The bachelor thesis deals with the educational needs of nursery school headmasters in Prague. The aim was to find out the contemporary educational needs of the stated group of leading workers and compare them with topical educational offers on the territory of the capital city of Prague. Theoretical part comes from the professional literature concerning the nowadays pre-school available educational and other sources and others. Researching part was based on questionnaire studies and its further analysis. The result is to create the whole side of further education of nursery school headmasters concerning their demands. At the end of the bachelor thesis the headmasters' interests of further school management education are confirmed and the time limited possibilities of headmasters are pointed out. The author of the thesis also shows the inadequate educational offers and the lack of wrong adjustment of the whole system of managerial education in our educational system.
