The school in Dohaličky 1865 - 1938, "In the work and the knowledge is our salvation."

This bachelor thesis deals with history of education in the Eastern Bohemian village Dohalice during 1865 - 1938. The education is one of the most important momentsfor studying history of every day life. Goal of this thesis is not chronological describing of the history of concrete school, located in Dohaličky, but on the example of this particular school show the general evolution of education in the Czech lands. The thesis is also interested in other topics connected with the education for instance the status of teachers, the relationship between the church and the teacher, the soup institute, the popular agricultural school, the local school council, the school trips or hounuring the head of the state which we can study in the school chronicle. The primary sources mainly consist of the funds from the regional archive in Hradec Kralové. I consider the most important funds, the Primary school Dohalice and Deyl Václav.
Alois Klar (1763-1833). Between the Enlightenment and Romanticism

Final thesis follows the destiny of Alois Klar (1763-1833) with the emphasis on the history of ideas. Primarily, it focuses on three realms: religion thinking, history of language and school system. Based on available primary sources, the thesis is monitoring the complete known history of the school and education in Slivenec. Certain periods of history are being discussed in more detail, especially when substantial changes happened in the village (e.g. WWI and WWII). Journals of teaching history as a practical methodical support to Czechoslovak teachers of history in the period 1948-1970

This master thesis deals with history teaching from 1948 up to 1970. The main focus is not put on the way how the teaching looked really like, but it deals with the teaching methods how history should be taught. The major sources are journals of education for history teaching, mostly Dějepis ve škole and the preceding and following journals. The basic question is whether the magazines could have really helped the teachers in terms of teaching methodology and what was this support like. In the first chapter the history of education is described, the second chapter deals with the journals of education for history teaching. Next is described how a lesson should look like, the whole-class presentation, examination, revision, using a textbook. Special chapter deals with various tools for history teaching, including maps, images, audiovisual aids and literature. Moreover there is covered regional history, excursions, cooperation with museums and archives. In the end the basic question is answered; the journals were able to help the teachers well, many interesting and inspiring articles were in them. Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century

Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century This specific study contributes to the knowledge of the Order in our territory in the course of the 19th century and it explores the activity of the Premonstratensian in the schools established by them. The topic is approached in the broader context of the education of the examined era. The study explains the characteristics of the schooling and education organisation system as well, focusing on the specific problematic of religious schooling and education from various points of view. As part of the argument, the Order of Canons Regular of Prémontré is described and an evaluation of its educational activities in the course of all the history of the Order is provided. A significant part of the study is dedicated to the Strahov Abbey and its educational facilities, especially to the schools that were restored or undertaken by the Order in the researched period. The conclusive part characterises other schools run by orders in the territories of Bohemia and Moravia.
The development of the elementary educational system in Kladno district (1869-1918)

This diploma work is meant as a historical study and is divided into three chapters. The first one is focused on the elementary development of the educational system in the Czech countries. Except of the description of the beginning of the education and the reform in the 19th century there are also essays about teachers education, school rules and school board. In the enclosure there is decribed in details the goal of the locals and towns schools. The main chapter is devoted to the history of the educational system in Kladno district since the proclamation of the Hasner's law to 1918. The chapter outlines the beginning of the education in our region, the rise of the District School Board in Kladno and it mentions about the activity of the school board and primary describes the particular schools. The third chapter presents the significant pedagogical personalities of the region whose teacher's beginnings are connected with some of the mentioned schools. The first czech Teacher´s Institute in South-Bohemian. Teacher´s Institute in Soběslav in years 1871 - 1948

Presented diploma thesis is based on the study of scientific literature concerning the topic of the work and on the source documents preserved in the State Regional Archives in Tábor. The objective of the work is to define the establishment and the functioning of the Teacher´s Institute in Soběslav, which was the oldest South-Bohemian school of its type providing education to the public interested in teaching at elementary schools in the Czech language. Pegagogium founded in 1871 in Tábor and moved into the picturesque town of Soběslav a year later provided, during seventy-seven years of its functioning, a quality education and the possibility to take the final school-leaving exam to more than four thousand of future teachers of elementary and council schools. Following pages deal with the characteristics of these people and also with the destinies of the most significant teachers, their educators and the school which provided them with the necessary knowledge. The work also presents information concerning the everyday life of the school, extracurricular activities and the relation of the school towards the host town during the changes in the Czech countries at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The work aims not only to describe the history of the Teacher´s Institute but also to enrich the knowledge of the position of the South Bohemian schools in the whole-republic educational network and to specify the changes of the teacher´s education from the period of Maria Theresa?s reforms to the first half of the 20th century.
The village school between the village and parish. School in Svatý Jan nad Malší in 1880 - 1945.

The present work deals with the development of elementary school in Svatý Jan nad Malší in 1880 - 1945. The work is based next to the professional literature on archival sources deposited in the State District Archive in České Budějovice in the fund Archive of village Svatý Jan nad Malší (partially processed), the parish office of Svatý Jan nad Malší, Local School Board of Svatý Jan nad Malší, primary school in Svatý Jan nad Malší (unprocessed). The thesis is divided besides standard introduction and conclusion into six chapters. The first and the second one close to the village and parish of Svatý Jan nad Malší. The third chapter on the basis of literature describes the development of primary education in the Czech lands. The remaining three chapters then provide space for the school itself. The fourth chapter is devoted to the school building, the organization of the school year, celebrations, deals with the local council and school aids, the six chapter focuses on teachers and pupils. Part of the work is pictorial and text attachments.
The Influence of the Enlightenment on the Czech School in the Turn of 18th and 19th Centuries

In my bachelor´s thesis The Influence of the Enlightenment on the Czech School in the Turn of 18th and 19th Centuries I deal with enlightened reformative efforts of J. I. Felbiger, F. Kindermann a J. J. Ryba. Primarily, I focus on five parts of Felbiger´s so called right ?zaháňská?teaching method. Next part is concerned by Kaplice school where F. Kindermann taught and studies the industrial teaching from his point of view. I also deal with pedagogical activity of the teacher and musician J. J. Ryba. I compare their didactic approaches and analyse their effectiveness. Suggestions of the didactic application of enlightened teaching methods at present secondary schools, and examples of the own translation work are the parts of the thesis.
