Ethical aspects of stem cell donation

Donation of blood stem cells could help save the life of patients with a variety of hematological diseases. Despite its topicality it does not belong to widely known areas and a large section of the population deals with this issue only if it begins to relate to them personally. Therefore I would like to contribute with my work I would to the wider debate on this topic focusing on ethical issues. In the theoretical part I describe the history of the donation and transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells, which together are inseparable. I introduce the role of the Czech Stem Cells Donor Registry and the legislative definition of its functioning. For a comprehensive look at this issue I describe the methods of blood stem cells collection and their transplantation primarily to depict the practical issues and questions donors and patients are exposed to. The main part of my work is devoted to the ethically problematic areas which we as the registry staff can meet and whose solution we are exposed to. The research part of my work is focused on the donor perception of the need to be informed and devoted to the fate and identity of the stem cells recipient in the context of the entire donation process. Good Will in The World of Organizations Professionalization of the Olga Havel Foundation: A Case Study

The presented work aims to map the trends in the development and professionalization of foundations on the background of the civil society that was formed in the Czech Republic after 1989. It addresses the importance of endowment and appreciation of foundation assets in the long-term perspective and describes the circumstances that led to the creation of the Foundation Investment Fund (NIF). It also tries to follow the legislative and economic conditions for the development of the Czech endowment sector. In this sense the paper aims to bring some contribution to the civil society studies. Through a case study on The Committee of Good Will - The Olga Havel Foundation the thesis deals with the causes, effects and changes of the foundation's professionalization process. The research uses the means of internal and external document analysis, interviews with the foundation representatives and the method of participating observation. The effects of the professionalization process have manifested in personnel management changes (eg. recruitment of paid employees, hiring external professionals), project management changes and overall change in the scope of the foundation's activities. Current resources and opportunities of public libraries funding in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the current situation regarding the funding of public libraries in the Czech Republic. The introduction comprises a concise definition of the legislative framework for funding public libraries. In the main section of the work the author deals with the system of libraries providing public library and information services and how these libraries can be established. Then the analysis of the financial resources that can be used by these libraries follows, i.e. grants by founders, national and international programs and projects to support libraries, fundraising, donating, sponsoring, patronage, volunteering, grants by foundations, libraries' own business. There is also a description of pricing and financial policy, analysis of the financial management of libraries in various regions and the influence of the economic crisis on library budgets. The main part of the thesis related to the whole Czech Republic is followed by the part aimed only at the Central Bohemian. In my theses I focus on analysis of three international private market companies. Company GEFCO ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA s.r.o. , Dalkia a.s. a ABB a.s. With this companies I'm interested in the way how they practice corporate social responsibility (CSR). When I was choosing this companies I considered facts as: Company has to have head quarter in Western Europe Company has to have experience with corporate social responsibility and has to practice CSR and has to organize social responsible activities. All chosen companies are leaders in its business sector. In my theses I will focus on overview about CSR activities of companies, mainly on corporate philanthropy. I will focus on cooperation of these companies and non government organization, I'm interested in concrete activities done by NGOs in cooperation with through CSR and how NGOs perceived activities that are done through CSR. I'm interested in the way how companies involve their employees into CSR. I 'm going to aim if subsidiaries and head quarters practice same CSR activities and using same CSR tools. Medical Specialist Awareness and Attitude about Organ Donation

Bachelor thesis is focused on finding the awareness and attitudes of nurses towards organ donation. The work is divided into two parts ̶ theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part summarizes available data on the history and development in this field, applicable legislation is mentioned, care for organ donors and overview of the current situation of organ donation, along with current trends. Empirical part took the form of quantitative research, which was conducted by anonymous questionnaires. The aim was to determine nurses' awareness about organ donation organization, determine their orientation in the field of diagnosis of brain death, to map the contemporary practice in the care of a dead donor organs and detect personal attitude on the issue of donation. Respondents were nurses that during their practice on the wards encounter this issue. Questionnaires were distributed on anesthesiology and resuscitation department of Central Military Hospital ̶ Military University Hospital in Prague, then to the operating room and intensive inpatient department of intensive and resuscitation care at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Charity of elementary schools

This diploma work deals with the issue of charity at elementary schools. At the beginning of the writing there are briefly defined basic terms and kinds of charity. Other chapters concern with the development of charity in Czech countries and particular motives that instigate somebody to do charity. In other parts of the writing there is the charity in the school context. First there are characterized the non-profit institutions dealing with the charity at elementary schools and their specific activities and there are also analysed school documents, school textbooks and other school materials, that are used in the teaching process at the lower secondary schools. The second part of the writing deals with a case study where the results of the research are presented. In this research there are analysed two elementary schools in more details. The aim of the research is to find out: if the charity activities are established in school´s curricular documents, what charitable activities the schools do, if the charity is taught in civics classes etc.
Analysis of the plasma donor market

The master´s thesis discusses the analysis of the plasma donor market in the Czech Republic with focus on Prague and Central Bohemian Region. The main aim of this thesis is to assess this market, identify behaviour of blood plasma donors and motives leading to regular donations, through research of primary and secondary data. Further the thesis deals with detection the awareness of donating blood plasma among studnets of prague universities and barriers to become a donor. The theoretical part of this thesis defines a donor market with legislation. Application part includes competitor analysis based on secondary data and research of blood plasma donators and Prague students. Thesis concludes with a marketing recommendations for a selected donor centre, which are deducted from the analysis.
INDIVIDUAL GIVING

Only a few cultural organizations in the country are devoted to development and continual work with individual fundraising. Many other cultural NGOs stands at the beginning of creating a strategy and planning individual fundraising in general. For this reason, this diploma thesis deals with potential and usable strategies in individual fundraising, donors motivation based on Czech surveys, case studies of cultural organizations with the potential in individual giving and other aspects. The summary should provide basic knowledge framework for the creation of strategies for cultural organizations that may find out desire and motivation to pursue potential of individual fundraising in the future. This thesis seeks to change stereotypes in thinking about individual fundraising as a way of raising funds without the potential and historical context.
The development of assisted reproduction in Czech Republic

This bachelor's thesis deals with development and changes of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic. It points out the reasons leading to usage of assisted reproduction. The thesis describes the ways of sterility cure with the assisted reproductive technologies, when the assisted reproductive technologies are considered to be such sterility cures, when women ovum and men sperm are treated. The thesis deals with results and achievements of sterility cure using the assisted reproduction. It also points out the success of selected assisted reproduction centres. A part of thesis describes the donation of sex cells and requirements necessary for donation itself. The main legal actions regarding the artificial insemination and legal law description of the most important concepts of assisted reproduction are summarized in the part. One of the parts describes the reimbursement of the treatments cycles of assisted reproduction by the health insurance centres. It also deals with the ethical questions regarding the artificial insemination and mainly regarding the sperm and ovum donation and also the point of view of the most important world's religions.
