New methods of in vivo monitoring and management of colonic anastomoses leak in experimental study
Kalvach, Jaroslav ; Pohnán, Radek (advisor) ; Kala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Klos, Dušan (referee)
The primary aim of the project was to assess two different minimally invasive techniques (Transanal minimally invasive surgical approach - TAMIS and endoscopic closure) in the treatment of colorectal anastomosis dehiscence on an experimental model. The secondary aim was to evaluate microdialysis (MD), and confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) as novel methods potentially suitable for postoperative monitoring of colo-rectal anastomosis. In the first step, large animal model of dehiscent colo-rectal anastomosis was developed. Two novel techniques of dehiscence closure were then compared with conventional surgical repair and laparotomy with anastomotic diversion. Thus 4 intervention groups and one untreated control group were included. Transanal repair using TAMIS and endoscopic closure were technically feasible with high healing rate. Both techniques reduced the incidence of intra- abdominal septic complications compared to control. With regards to secondary aim, colorectal anastomosis was monitored using MD and CLE before and after the induction of ischaemia. Moreover, intramural and serosal positioning of MD sensors were compared. Both methods revealed hypoperfusion of anastomosis promptly and were proven as suitable for early detection of impaired healing. Based on the results of this project, a...

Chmelík, Zdeněk ; Vrablík, Michal (advisor) ; Piťha, Jan (referee) ; Vohnout, Branislav (referee)
Univerzita Karlova v Praze 1. lékařská fakulta Abstrakt dizertační práce Možnosti ovlivnění markerů kardiovaskulárního rizika stravou obohacenou amarantovou moukou PharmDr. Zdeněk Chmelík Praha 2022 Abstract (EN) Introduction: Diet suitable for lipid metabolism disorders should not increase the total and LDL cholesterol, and ideally should assist in its lowering. Analysis of literary sources suggest that amaranth can meet these properties. Aim: The execution of literary investigation of the issue and experimental verification of lipid- lowering effect of amaranth flour in laboratory conditions. Methods: 50 (Experiment 1) or 40 (Experiment 2) The mice were divided into five (Experiment 1) or four (Experiment 2) groups fed by control mixture (C), high-energy diet (HED), high- energy diet with amaranth (HED+A) and in Experiment 1, by high-energy diet with amaranth flour and simvastatin (HED+A+S) or only with simvastatin (HED+S), and in Experiment 2 a by high-energy diet with squalene (HED+S). Weight gains were measured and TC, LDL and HDL cholesterol determined. Results: Feeding of HED diets resulted in a statistically significant increase in the TC cholesterol by 81% (Experiment 1) or 125% (Experiment 2), LDL cholesterol of 612% (Experiment 1) or 304% (Experiment 2) and a decrease in HDL cholesterol by 8.4%...
Regimes of import of live animals into the Czech Republic
PAŘÍZEK, Matouš
This bachelor thesis explores the posibble regimes of import of live animals into the territory of Chech republic. The main objectives of the thesis is to analyse the possibilities of international trade in live animals and to analyze the possibility of import regimes for live animals in the Czech Republic with practical examples of imports. The subgoals were analysis of the role of customs administration and veterinary administration in international trade in live animals, specifically in imports into the territory of the Czech republic. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of the regulation of international trade in animals, which focuses mostly on legislation, laws and decrees of the European Union and the Czech Republic. The next goal was to investigate the process of transport of live animals with an impact on their health, ie. analysis of transport rules and obligations, how live animals can be exported / imported, what methods are used to ensure safe transport and how means of transport should be equipped. The last partial goal was the analysis of current trends in international trade in animals, specifically in imports to the Czech Republic. The methods of the project are literary research, structured guided interviews, and comparison. Given all the methods the results are varied. All the regimes of import of live animals into Czech republic have very similiar techniques in some aspects of import, such as techniques of tranport, but are also varied in many other aspects, such as the number of imported animals.

Visitor perception of ZOO mammals welfare
SMRČKOVÁ, Nela
Welfare of animals, which means well-being of animals or a state of total physical and mental health of an animal that should be in harmony with its habitat, is a very essential aspect in keeping animals in captivity be it farm animals, fur animals, circus animals or animals kept in the zoological gardens. The aim of my thesis is to find out how much the visitors to the zoo are interested in welfare of mammals kept in the zoo which I personally chose. Another aim of my thesis is the identification of potential differences in perception of welfare of animals among various groups of visitors to the zoological gardens. The work was carried out in a zoo where there are more than 80 mammals kept. The results will be processed from primary data, which will be aquired from a questionnaire survey among zoo visitors after finishing their visit.to the zoo. Visitors of various age groups will be asked in an effort to equally represent both genders. The data will be processed using descriptive and comparative statistics.

Liability for damage caused by and to an animal
Kvasnicová, Sandra ; Elischer, David (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
Liability for damage caused by and to an animal Abstract In this paper, entitled "Liability for damage caused by and to an animal", I focus on the analysis of the private law framework of attributability and liability for injury caused by and to animals, i.e. the concept of the property of a "thing" that is to some extent uncontrollable. For the sake of comprehensiveness, the issue is also briefly outlined from a public law perspective. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive and expert summary of information on current domestic legislation, to mention possible shortcomings thereof, and to provide the reader with an overall picture through a number of examples and theoretical situations. The paper is divided into six chapters. The introduction deals with the animal as a concept in the legal sense and also defines the terms game and animal, as they are fundamental to the whole paper. Understanding the terms and distinguishing them from the subject matter is fundamental to understanding the issue. The following chapter is devoted to the Czech historical regulation of the concept of animal as its understanding changed in domestic civil law until the adoption of the current Civil Code. In its main parts (the third, fourth and fifth), the paper focuses on the current legal regulation of liability for injury...
