Andrej Kutarňa Carthusian Prayer Diploma thesis 2011 Abstract The Diploma thesis entitled "Carthusian Prayer" is trying to collect and arrange a body of information about the spiritual world of the Carthusian order. It aims at discovering the key characteristics of the life of prayer as seen by members of Carthusian order both in early and recent history of the Order and presented in their writings. First the thesis presents the wider context of carthusian prayer by showing the way of life of carthusian monks and what is specific to this particular monastic tradition, also trying to point at some possible sources of inspiration from older traditions. Then it proceeds to the matter of solitude and silence which are the formative elements that mould the carthusian prayer into the shape of simplicity and sobriety while retaining fine balance of community and solitary life, as well as that of great silence and living inner dialogue. The latter part of the thesis then attemps to show the inner dynamics of the prayer and the role of silence, liturgical and personal prayer and meditation of Scriptures for achieving unification with God, which is both the goal and the fruit of spiritual life. Requiem as a musical form and it's transformations in themusic of nineteenth and twentieth centuries

In this thesis, the evolution of the Requiem Mass throughout the centuries has been explored. The evidence provided clearly demonstrates the changes that the Requiem mass has gone through, from the first traditional Requiem mass all the way to the new Requiems of the Contemporary era. While early composers were inspired by religion, over time, a clear shift towards freedom of expression (war, human losses, tragic events) is evident. Requiems can be written for liturgical use and concert halls, and can be performed by choirs, soloists and orchestras (Acapella and Orchestral compositions). Requiems can have both short and long durations, and can have different textures (polyphonic style, homophonic style etc.). The traditional Latin language and religious texts are still widely used, however, there have been many changes throughout the centuries, such as the use of translations into different languages, the use of psalms, bible verses, poetry and famous speeches. Today, a large number of Requiems can be found from composers on a worldwide scale, including America, Europe and Great Britain.

INTRINSIC RELIGIOSITY PRACTICE Psychological aspects of intrinsic religiosity of Catholic women - mothers of small children. Key words: Intrinsic religiosity, Prayer, Spirituality of an Everyday Life, Motherhood, Catholic Faith, Identity, Narrative Analysis Secularisation of the current post-modern Europe represents a collapse of Christianity in the sense of an integrating power of the society; however, it does not mean extinction of Christianity as such. The largest European church has been responding to the changes in the post-modern society by moving the emphasis from Catholicism (institutionally - as a doctrine attitude of the church) to Catholicity (openness and universal attitude of the church). Despite this inner movement, the Roman Catholic Church is losing numbers of their members and frequently it does not satisfactorily address, among the competition in the 'religious market', agnostics or even the 'searching' ones. From another point of view, however, it is obvious that for many people it still remains a 'home' in which they develop their faith as an individual expression of existential needs. Pastoral service to ill and dying. The Logotherapy contribution to the poimen

In my thesis, I focused on the topic of poimenic in the care of seriously ill and dying in biblical context and specialized care, with respect to the tradition of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, which includes the concept of spiritual care and theme of sacraments. I described the spiritual needs of the sick and dying, the means of this care for them, which are: interview, prayer, sacraments, and an accompanying person. With regard to the target group of the topic of my thesis, I deal with psychotherapeutic approach of logotherapy: the context of its establishment, the importance of the author, by the very meaning of the term and the idea of the values of V. E. Frankl, the topic of freedom and responsibility, tragic triad and techniques of this psychotherapeutic school. In conclusion, I mention the benefits of logotherapy in the pastoral care of the seriously ill and dying.My thesis shows the importance of poimenic and logotherapy in the service of seriously ill and dying. Logotherapy enables the patients to understand their life story in a deeper way. It can also serve to an accompanying person, in his/her service, his/her life and understanding of the seriously ill and dying, to whom he/she comes. Teresa of Jesus: Interior Castle Kateřina Kutarňová Diploma thesis Abstract This thesis seeks to understand the most important text of Teresa of Jesus -'Interior Castle' which is considered one of the most important books of Spanish mysticism. This understanding should be achieved by using both theological and phenomenologico- hermenutical commentaries. The main topics of this thesis are religious and mystical experience, mystical transformation and intersubjectivity. Motivated by the possibility of gaining the understanding of the text as a whole, I firstly try to present the meaning of particular chapters. The Interior Castle leads from incorrect/false understanding (of one's self, reality and God) to the right or true one. This true understanding is made possible by reaching the mystical marriage between God and man based on full and conscious living of their mutual, intersubjective relationship. The reaching of mystical intersubjectivity provides the possibility of transgressing from knowing the reality as it appears to be to knowing the reality as it is. Ethicotherapy in the concept of Ctibor Bezděk. Problems of human moral life and health.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to point out the connections between the moral life of a person and his state of health. This is a current topic of applied ethics, which deals with the relationship between ethical behavior and its consequences in health and disease therapy. The work deals with the life and work of Ctibor Bezděk, who is considered by the professional public to be the founder of ethics therapy. The diploma thesis introduces the concepts of ethics therapy and tries to bring the meaning of his work to the present day with an understandable approach. The diploma thesis also points out the importance of moral balance in various areas of our lives, the role of faith in God and the trust we place in him in the dynamics of health and disease. The method used in the diploma thesis is the analysis of Ctibor Bezděk's texts, the systematic arrangement into the topic of the thesis and the updating of his legacy. Spirituality of Faithful Women in Pregnancy and after the Birth

Master's thesis called Spirituality of Faithful Women in Pregnancy and after the Birth focuses on meaning of spirituality, expressing of spirituality and possible transformation of women's spirituality in pregnancy and after the birth. The thesis is divided into theoretical and research part. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to define the term of spirituality. It deals with spirituality as a dimension of personality, and spirituality as a need. This part also presents the seven dimensions of Christian spirituality, spirituality of women and the spirituality of motherhood. The second chapter describes the term of pregnancy, childbirth and the period after the birth from the perspective of a holistic approach. The third chapter focuses on spirituality in pregnancy and after the birth. This part contains biblical-theological perspective of pregnancy and childbirth and includes the Roman Catholic Church point of view. The research part of the thesis uses a qualitative social science approach with biographical research design. Spiritual Significance of the Orthodox Christian Church Chant

This work contains a narrative about a liturgical chant, its history and various genres and styles. A lot of attention is paid to explaining the theory and practice of various ancient chants. All this helps to understand better the meaning of the phrase "spiritual influence". The second part of the work deals with the practice of the choir directors' (regents') work, the choice of the repertoire and the relationship between the choir director, the choir and the priest. It is about the influence of various musical styles, the tempo and power of the sound of the performed works on the spiritual state of a person. Speaking about the liturgical basis of choir singing in the Orthodox Church, I reveal the concepts of theory and practice. I recall the early Christian practice of psalm chant, traditional singing in an Orthodox church and also modern liturgical singing. The Church Charter is of great importance for understanding the choir singing. The essence of church chant is to convey the meaning of the prayers performed by musical means as fully as possible and transmit them to all those participating in the service, as the choir is the mouth of the worshipers.
