Translation of selected lexical units using machine translation tools.

The present Master thesis deals with the translation of selected lexical units by tool- supporting machine translation. The aim of this study is, on one hand, to identify the limit of the effectiveness of translations of phraseological units, which meaning is associated with diverse parts of the human body. On the other hand, to determine the efficiency of the system as a supporting learning tool for the study of the Spanish language. The first part, the Theoretical Framework, includes a brief introduction of the history of machine translation as well as the selected translators in the investigation. Additionally, this part encloses the theory of phraseology, the corpus that provides the base for the research, the didactical proposal, and the problematical issues of teaching somatic phraseology to students of the Spanish language. The second part, the Methodology, is focused on the translation of selected phraseology by Bing Microsoft Translate, Babylon, My Memory and Google Translate. At the end of the thesis, the statistics of the validity of the translation are presented.
Russian proverbs and sayings themed "possession" and their Czech and German equivalents

In addition to that, I was trying to look up their appropriate Czech and German equivalents. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical one. The theoretical part is focused on general information about phraselogisms. As for the practical part, you can find there a list of Russian proverbs and sayings completed by their equivalents in the Czech and German language.
The world of plants in phraseology and folk lore from the contrastive view of German and Czech.

The paper presented assesses German phraseology including plant names and their consecutive translation into Czech. Subsequently, the idioms are divided into four groups according to the degree of correspondence, each being accompanied with an example. The graphs and tables attached for clearer summary. The conclusion has been devoted to the results of investigation and translation of idioms from the contrastive phraseology point of view.
Phraseology and its Applicability in Foreign Languages Teaching and Learning

This thesis is concerned with phraseology and its intertwining with didactics of foreign languages. The practical part consists of the analysis of a contemporary situation in didactics of foreign languages, particularly the utilization of idioms. Further, the frequency of using proverbs and other set phrases in modern textbooks for teaching foreign languages (namely German and Russian) is analysed. I. Abstract and Key words This bachelor thesis deals with the linguistic picture of dog in czech and russian language. The thesis is based on the theory of cognitive linguistics, especially on theory of semantic school of Lublin. Linguistic part of this thesis is based on the analysis of the Czech dictionaries (etymological, explanatory, synonymical and phraseological dictionaries) with the brief addition of the symbolism of dog. Animal species in Czech and Danish phraseology

and key words The final thesis discuss idiomatic expressions, which includes words related to animal kingdom. An essential point of the whole thesis was creation of a list of all relevant Danish idioms. There was found their Danish definitions as well and subsequently also their Czech equivalent words. Equivalent degree was found by all words. The thesis is divided into theoretical part and practical part. The first one describes idiomacity and phraseology as a whole and compares Danish and Czech works on this topic. Other subjects, which is needed in the practical part, is discussed. Deep analysis of the list of the idioms is the content of the practical part of the thesis. Main topics is perception of animals in Czech and Danish, degree of their mutual equivalency and some other specific subjects related to animal idioms. Idiomatic Phrases in the Novell "Buchmendel" from Stefan Zweig and in its Translation into Czech

This bachelor's thesis pursues the contrastive comparison of Czech and German idioms in Stefan Zweig's novel "Buchmendel" and its Czech translation. Besides the theoretical description of idioms, its characteristic features and its classification deals the thesis with the contrastive phraseology, which was taken into account in the practical section, where the found idioms were divided according to their degree of equivalence, compared and commented. The center of interest is the appraisal of the suitability of the translation.
Analysis of German youth language from the point of view of phraseology

Purpose of this work is to give insight into the contemporary language of the German youths. First, the phenomenon youth language (Jugend-sprache), communication and social media are discussed. Next chapter is concerned with phraseology, a linguistic discipline that is the base for the practical part of the Bachelor thesis. In the practical part, the phrases are provided with a Czech translation.
Parts of the body in Finnish phraseological expressions

(in English) This Bachelor's thesis surveys selected Finnish phraseological expressions that contain the following names of parts of the body: käsi 'hand', pää 'head' and silmä 'eye'. The phraseological expressions were collected from two phraseological dictionaries and a Ph.D. thesis on Finnish idioms. The selected expressions in this Bachelor's thesis are classified as idioms. The thesis describes what type of structures the idioms take and what their meaning is. The theoretical part, firstly, comments on the development of the phraseological research in Finland, secondly, it introduces Finnish phraseological terminology and, thirdly, it gives the classification of idioms by M. Nenonen, which is applied in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part consists of a morfo-syntactic analysis on the idioms, which divides the idioms into verbal, non-verbal and other idioms, and of the description of their semantic and lexical features.
