Proposals for Improvement of the Communication Mix of the selected Company

This diploma thesis deals with communication mix for the selected company. The theoretical part is devoted to the general basis in marketing that is used in the following chapters of the thesis. In the second part, analyses of the current situation of the company have been conducted and conclusions about improvements of the current communication mix have been drawn. These specific recommendations for implementation are presented in order to increase publicity and raise awareness of company’s services.

Palliative Care Centre

The subject of the diploma thesis is the new building of the alliative care center in Žamberk. It is a detached building, which is partly basement and has three above-ground floors. From the operating point of view, it is a medical-social facility. The facility has a range of palliative care services - a dormitory, a day hospice, a mobile hospice facility and outpatient services. Due to the type of facilities and persons using the facilities, emphasis was placed on the location of an object situated on the outskirts of the city in the area of other social and health facilities designed for long-term residence in a quiet, quiet environment with plenty of surrounding greenery. The mass of the building consists of several blocks, the shape and material solution is simple. The construction system is a monolithic reinforced concrete skeleton, coated with ceramic blocks. Several types of flat roofs are covered, 2NP is designed as a receding floor with a barrier-free terrace.

St. Michael's Hospice

The topic of the master thesis is new medico-social facility hospice St. Michaela. The purpose of the object is the maximizing of improvement in the quality of life of dying, severely ill and incurable patients, with the use of palliative care. The construction follows the Complex of Regional Hospital Náchod. Together with as a retirement home Náchod completes a support network of health and social care. The building is designed as a four-building storey and is partially embedded into the sloping terrain. Floors are divided into individual facilities and together constitute a functional unit. In the basement is the technical room, warehouses, garages and kitchen facilities. On the ground floor are then socio-public rooms and facilities. On the second floor is located hedmaster of hospice and accommodation area. The third floor is devoted to the accommodation area. The proposed structure made of brick longitudinal system, supplemented by concrete basement walls. The horizontal structure is made of filigree ceiling panels. Stairs are designed as a precast concrete and steel. Individual roof structures is made from unwalkable, walkable and vegetation compositions. The cladding consists of ventilated facade of glass and wooden panels. Foundations are designed from the lineal foundation.

Systematic evaluation of quality of palliative care in the Czech Republic

In both the social work and health sector, there is an increasing emphasis on monitoring and improving the quality of care and services provided. In both areas, quality standards are already established in wider practice and attention is therefore focused on monitoring the quality of services and care at a system level. However, this requires the availability of appropriate tools. This also applies to palliative care, which is developing rapidly in the Czech Republic and whose need will continue to increase as a result of the prolongation of life expectancy. The theoretical part of this dissertation shows, through the example of palliative care, the deeper interconnection of the social and health spheres. It occurs thanks to its holistic approach to the patient and the irreplaceable role of social workers in a multidisciplinary team. There is also a growing demand in palliative care for systematic quality monitoring and improvement of care and services. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge regarding the development and use of quality indicators, presents examples of systematic quality measurement in palliative care abroad and compares their strengths and weaknesses. Preventing Terminal Hospitalization in Nursing Home for Older Adults

This dissertation deals with the topic of terminal hospitalizations of residents of nursing homes for older adults and was written within the framework of the doctoral study of Social Work at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University. The aim of the thesis is to understand the factors that lead to terminal hospitalization of residents of nursing homes for older adults. The research design is mainly descriptive in nature and exploratory to a lesser extent. The thesis consists of peer-reviewed articles, three of which have been published in peer- reviewed journals, and a fourth is currently under review. The first article is a directed documentary analysis. It focuses on analyses of a public policy document for older adults, tracking how elements of palliative or end-of-life care are emerging in those documents in the 13 most rapidly aging populations. It provides insight into the system in which terminal hospitalizations are happening. The next two articles focus on terminal hospitalizations of nursing home residents. The second study is qualitative; the article summarizes the findings of an analysis of 27 semi-structured interviews conducted with general nurses, social workers in nursing homes and general practitioners who had their patients in nursing homes. Paliative care from the point of view of non-medical healthcare workers

This bachelor thesis describes dying from the view of nurses and compares implementing principles of paliative care of the dying patient lying on a hospital bed with care in a hospice. The goal of this work was to find out how nurses with practice in both types of institutions look at this care and what differences between them they recognize. The theoretical part involves definitions of basic notions and introduces the the whole themes of dying to the reader. Also basic principles, thoughts and values, that paliative medicine has and practices, will be mentioned. Further it submits basic information about history of this specialization in our country and also in the world, approaches typical expressions and problems of a dying patient and explains what specifics the hospice institutions have and what kind of care they provide. For the comparison, there will be also described how the paliative care for the patient in the terminal phase laying on a hospital bed is implemented. Movement interventions for patients in palliative care

Title: Pohybové intervence u pacientů v paliativní péči Objectives: The aim of the systematic research was to find out and summarize, on the basis of the available literature, the benefits of movement interventions for oncologically ill patients in palliative care and to summarize the specific possibilities of movement interventions for these patients. Methods: The bachelor's thesis was prepared in the form of a literature search. A total of three literature databases - PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO - were selected for the bachelor's thesis and were systematically explored using keywords that were purposefully chosen to answer the research question. A total of 599 studies were identified in the basic search, of which 7 were identified using a manual search. After removing duplicates, a further 586 studies were excluded. The final number of search titles was 15 studies. Results: A total of 15 studies were selected. In these studies, exercise interventions for cancer patients in palliative care have been identified as beneficial and have been evaluated to have a positive effect, particularly in improving physical fitness, mobility, dyspnea, sleep, muscle strength, independence, quality of life and reduction of fatigue, anxiety, depression, neuropathy and hemoptysis. Psychological aspects of pharmacological pain management in palliative care

This thesis deals with the psychological phenomena that are associated with the pharmacological pain management in a context of palliative care. The issue involves patient himself, but also a caregiver and a medical staff. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with pain and pharmacological pain management from a psychological point of view and focuses on a problematic attitude toward opioids. This thesis is based on the latest scientific findings by Czech and international researchers. This thesis also includes a research plan, which deals with the psychological factors that affect the attitude toward opioids in Czech environment.

Dysthanasia

The BA thesis titled "Dysthanasia: Home care as one of the prevention methods of dysthanasia" deals with the issue of prolonged death and proposes solutions to prevent it. The theoretical part introduces to readers the basic concepts related to the finiteness of life. It discusses death from both medical and theological perspectives, and further describes in detail the concept of dysthanasia as one of the ways of dealing with death. The thesis defines the problems associated with dysthanasia and proposes palliative care as the best approach to prevent this issue. It also mentions organizational forms of specialized palliative care to follow up on the chapter describing home care for the dying, which is not only the best solution in preventing a negative approach to death and dying, but also meets the wishes of the majority of the population who wish to die in a familiar environment close to their family or friends. The last chapter mentions supportive services that help caregivers in caring for the dying. The practical part focuses on the closer examination of home care for the dying and its function in practice. Bereaved parents perception of perinatal loss

The topic of the thesis is the perception of perinatal loss by bereaved parents. Perinatal loss is a tragic event in the life of parents that is still taboo in our society and parents are not given enough support. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to describe the perception of perinatal loss through the eyes of bereaved parents, and to further outline the main needs, communication with the spouse, their family and immediate family, and support services used, with the intention of contributing to a greater understanding and awareness to guide support in the health and social care system.
