Nováková, Elena ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the themes of drawings of children at elementary school age with an emphasis on developmental and gender aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the developmental characteristics of elementary school age children, cognitive, emotional and social development and their translation into drawing, as well as gender differences in this area. The empirical part uses a mixed research design combining quantitative and qualitative analysis. The aim of the work is to understand what themes children in first, third and fifth grade choose for their drawings and whether there are differences between girls and boys. Furthermore, I examine the factors that influence children's decisions when choosing a drawing theme. The results show that the most common themes in drawings are natural elements, themes from movies, TV shows and video games, and last but not least, means of transportation. The differences found between girls and boys preferences suggest that girls more often depict natural motifs, while boys prefer means of transport. The analysis also suggests stability in the development of drawing preferences during younger school age. Interviews with children show that the choice of drawing subject is influenced by imagination, interests, media,...
Gender differences in the testimonies from Auschwitz
Navrátilová, Kristýna ; Valentová, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
The thesis deals with testimonies from the time of the Holocaust. Its aim was to compare two selected testimonies of Holocaust survivors, to find the main themes and to compare these testimonies also in terms of gender. I used the 17 testimonies that I read to determine the main themes of the testimonies. In the first part of the thesis, I discuss the evolution of perceptions of testimony over time, the relationship between the Holocaust and gender, and testimony as a genre. In the second part, I analyze the testimonies of Elie Wiesel and Edith Eger, looking for commonalities and differences in the experience of imprisonment. I selected an event that had a major impact on the protagonists during their adolescence in the camp and also looked at their development before and after the war. The presence of a loved one in the camp and then their ability to refuse to accept blame for what happened to them appears to be crucial to their survival. Both actors were also able to apply the experiences of the prison years to their professional lives after the war. In terms of gender, the testimonies of Elie Wiesel and Edith Eger do not differ fundamentally; on the contrary, they are very similar. Gender therefore had no major influence on the survival of these two young people.
Homoparental Families and Social Work
KYSLÍKOVÁ, Patricie
Homoparental parents still do not dispose with the same rights as heteroparental families according to the current Czech legislation. Only one of the parents is legally recognized, the other is a social parent, who does not have a legally recognized relationship with the child. The institute of registered partnership has been established in the Czech Republic since 2006. However, neither its name nor its content is similar to marriage. In addition to legal obstacles, homoparental families face societal stereotypes and gender inequality. Nonetheless, according to surveys, the attitude of the Czech population is improving. However, there is a distinction between acceptance and tolerance. Futhermore, there are not many organizations and social work services focused on homoparental families or the LGBTQ+ group. This research work, employing a qualitative research strategy using the method of inquiry carried out using the semi-structured interview technique, analyzed what difficulties homoparental families face and how social work could assist them in this regard. The data obtained from interviews with nine communication partners was analysed using the grounded theory method. The need for social justice as a theory embedded in the obtained data during the process of coding. Its low level is the cause of the current legislative situation, identified as the primary challenge in the research. Additionaly, it points to the prevailing tolerant stance and gender inequality which communication partners face. Whereas the accepting environment is a fact which significantly contributes to the better life of communication partners. To increase social justice, there is a need for the development of Czech social work in a critical and political direction.

Law and the Human Body : Bodily Autonomy of Queer People
Arendacká, Lucie ; Agha, Petr (advisor) ; Kosek, Jan (referee)
Law and the Human Body: Bodily Autonomy of Queer People Abstract Alongside the positive shift in the perception of LGBT+ people, a conservative wave in the form of the antigender movement is also rising. It advocates against bodily autonomy and reproductive rights of queer people, as well as those of women. It also calls for a return to 'traditional' values and regarding the nuclear family and heterosexuality as superior. The local context has not been spared of such a movement. This thesis aims to critically analyse how and to what extent bodily autonomy of queer people is currently being achieved, and how it is affected by the construction of legal sex/gender. The first part focuses on feminist and queer theory with an emphasis on the role of queer theory within theory of law. This serves as a theoretical basis for analysing the state of bodily autonomy of queer people and its reflection in the law. A section on the concepts of social construction of sex/gender as well as the related trans and intersex categories is also included. Lastly, I address the current political opposition to bodily autonomy of queer people. In the second part, I discuss both legal and practical issues concerning queer corporeality and autonomy in the context of sex/gender, with a main focus on the legal reflection of trans and...

The second chapter explains pivotal concepts related to gender and introduces diverse cultural conceptions of gender. The third chapter describes key linguistic phenomena that pose challenges to achieving neutrality within the French language. The core of the linguistic part of the thesis is the fourth chapter, with the so-called écriture inclusive, inclusive writing, which at many points offers a solution to linguistic equality. The official forms of this approach in France and Canada are presented and its guiding principles are described. In addition, the thesis incorporates a proposal for a gender-neutral solution for the French language put forth by Florence Ashley, a legal and health activist specializing in transgender issues in Canada. The last chapter, chapter five, outlines reactions to the inclusive and gender-neutral form of the French language. The controversial debates that arose...
