Gallery of Architecture, Art and Design. Located at the Brno ring road, at the intersection of Milady Horakove street and Koliště street. The building complets the lines of streets and tapers its accent - the corner. The gallery building is based on the traditional model with a central entrance hall and wings. Central hall situated on the corner, with its variable transparency sends information about what is happening inside and attracts potential gallery visitors. The two side wings are divided on the wing with art exhibition spaces and the technical wing with workshops and supporting functions.

Gallery of art, architecture and design is located at the corner between the streets “Koliště” and “Milady Horákové”. Urban design creates a conceptual link between “třída Kapitána Jaroše” and park “Koliště”. The whole consists of two buildings - the gallery building on the corner of land, and a building with facilities of gallery, commercial and other functions. The land is surrounded by busy traffic, so both masses turn away from these areas and they are open towards the passage between. Communications of gallery are located on the façade, creating a noise barrier, but it also has an exhibition function. The main exhibition spaces are designed as universal with artificial lighting and daylight roof. In the second building are administrative facilities of gallery, cafe shop and design shop in the pit, media library in second floor and studios on the top floor, which use permanent northern light. Both buildings are designed of concrete. The structural glass facade is in front of supporting structure of gallery.

I suggest two buildings, gallery and multifunctional building. For my design solutions was crucial that we find ourselves in a place with very strong traffic and small place. I design primarily the gallery, so I decided to open the block and relieve the gallery building. With the same intention i taper the wall of the main facade to the street fluctuate, thus creating a freer parter. Gallery becomes detached building and operating space around freely. I wanted to reach such an impression that it was a stone house, something quality and stable, so I chose the concrete substructure as well as the exposed material. The construction is monolithic reinforced concrete. The second house is a multifunctional building directly adjacent to the Commercial Bank

Gallery of modern architecture

Main task of the project was to create a proposal of Gallery of architecture which would be integrated into the residential colony in context of surrounding city structure. The plot is situated on south-west of the city part Brno-sever, in close connection with city centre, in steep slope. Currently, its function is a garden of adjacent plots. The plot is located close to the national cultural monument Villa Tugendhat, registered in The World Heritage List. Therefore, the new gallery should react to its existence. Proposal suggests locating of new object in north-eastern part of the plot for maximal usage of plot’s main potential that is a view to historical city centre. Main intention of design was a sensitive intervention to the area to keep calm atmosphere of surrounding residential colony with significant villas and to use potential and topographical advantages of the parcel. At the same time there was an effort to find a concept that would provides suitable conditions for exhibitions. The proposal tries to maximize usage of natural lighting which plays here an important role. Building seems to be a single storey object from the street. 2 floors are recessed into terrain and thanks to this overcome high difference between street and terrace in lower part of the plot. Object is divided into 3 functional units: The Gallery (exhibition area), The Studios (leasable space for architects for work and presentation of their projects) and The Theatre (space for other activities focused on architecture, such as lectures and projections). Walls and roofs of units are inclined to utilize potentials of site for the specific function and become polygonal shapes that meet the initial intention. Glassed inclined plane penetrates through the interior of gallery. It defines a spatial skylight that lets natural light from the north come to every corner of Gallery. It creates relationship between interior and exterior and connects all the functional units of the object.

When i created material composition I took care to glare, visual axis, negative impacts (such as dust and noise from traffic) and pedestrian, as the basic unit of life in the city. I started closing block. The building looked so huge. Cultural institution as a building for the people of the city should be distinguished according to their surroundings. It should be distinctive and different song structures, and the whole expression. In the past, such constructions rendition of the very place of the green, where he was to build a good view from all sides. But at our place it can not be achieved. But maybe it's so good. Odhľahčenie matter was necessary, punctures the back of my yard was founded in a small square (because I separated the whole mass, and not crossing). Block concluded only visually, Justice is an open public space, linking the foliage Class Captain Jaros with greenery on Koliště. The resulting blind facades of neighboring houses is to be completed. I Dosielila 3 materials. One major, and two side gallery. I called their studies or studios. There is a possibility of accommodation. Each studio unit is equipped with a single area, is home to a small kitchen hygieniské core. The rest of the free space is intended for the use of free and creative production. Design philosophy is based on fading tangible and intangible, creating barriers while openness. Already own place is quite a contrast unbalanced. Body, massive structure made reinforced concrete columns, the forks and re-connects. Surrounds and protects your space inside himself. Protects your soul, elusive and changeable, transparent, clear and mysterious. In this way, the construction of the body and spirit of inhaling it, I tried to follow in his proposal. All buildings of antiquity were based on the human scale, multiplying different elements, modules and construction-static properties of the material. I saw the human face particular irregularity and instability, errors, we commit. We are in the life issue in various ways, but we can not always go back. Brushing. Growth. Variety.

LABORARTORY - art laboratory building - is located on small Brno circuit, on the corner of street Koliště and street Milady Horákové. Laborartory adds a sets of cultural objects built on the Ring. Convenient location nearby city center, midway between the main brno parks (Lužánky - Koliště) is fis to open parterre. Plot preserves the continuity and responds to the planned revitalization of the inner berween Koliště and Příkop streets. Main idea is capture uncoordinated flow of people across the plot, channeling it through a gallery space to focus upward motion to the artistic values and viewpoints of Brno. There is a café, a media library in the object of Laborartory and 20 parking spaces in the basement.

Music and visual art use different ways of expression, but their roots are common. They can grow up side by side and inspire each other, or create a harmonious unit. To make this connection it is necessary to provide suitable spaces, create an artistic incubator, where the results of artistic creation will be an inspiration and encouragement to other activities, whether art or music. Laborartory Brno will provide spaces for education, artistic creation and presentation. Gallery of Architecture, Design and Contemporary Art will be the heart and the social facilities will be the arteries distributing life.

The task of this bachelor work was create the gallery of contemporary architecture and design. Basic conceptual principles became the visual axis. At the intersection of these axes will be placed high tower building. This project will be complemented by horizontal object that closes city block.

Gallery of architecture at a corner of the streets Milady Horákovej and Koliště provides more opportunieties of exhibition place in Brno. At the same time creates a background for architects and artists in the form of studios, workshops and workplace. The exterior of the building is divided into two parts, the "Background" and "dominant". The interior, however, offers open space, which connects the two units together by central atrium communication. In the other case in the building is situated cafe, shop, additional features and underground parking spaces.
