The subject of the diploma thesis is the design of a new Roman Catholic church with conveniences, which will be located in the city of Brno - Líšeň, in the northwestern part of the cadastral area Líšeň, on a sloping plot, between Horníkova and Molákova streets, near the youth center ("Saleska"). The church will serve the Roman Catholic Congregation of the Selesians, who are attended to the education and work with children and youth. The church will be dedicated to the third Divine Person of the Holy Spirit. The main aim of the church is to be a place of meeting in the community of believers, but also a quiet and peaceful place to meet God. The proposal will also consider the construction of a vicarage, which should be a meeting place for parishioners at various events with the possibility of accommodating the Salesians. The idea is proceeded on the main symbols of the Salesians. The design is based on the idea of a home, a circle, which symbolizes the family atmosphere. It is derived from three pillars. The sense, the religion and the kindness, standing on a triangular background that serve as points to create a community bounded by circles. This fellowship is defined by three circular segments in the form of reinforced concrete framework structures, each of them represents one of the divine persons of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The gaps among the structures serve for such an illumination, which does not distract the attention from the church to the outside environment and preserves the peace and the spirituality in the interior.
Architectural Study of the Church / Spiritual Center / "Sending the Holy Spirit" in Vinohrady-Brno.
Valová, Markéta ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis was to design a new building of Descent of the Holy Spirit Church in Brno – Líšeň (housing estate Vinohrady). Firstly, this task has been already solved as part of atelier work focusing on interior. Later, the engineering and construction solution was developed during this thesis. The aim was to design a decent place for celebration the holly Mass and for meeting the parish community, which shows its architectural, constructional, layout and art solution on the spiritual and transcendental aspect of the whole building. The Church is connected with Salesians, operating in Líšeň, which devote themselves to youth. The architecture of building is based on character of sacral and public building, and on bible motives too. The Church reminds a ship, which symbolizes the Church in the world, powered by the Holy Spirit. It shows the vocation of the first disciples – fishermen and worldwide presence of Salesians. The basilical lighting used in the main ship of the church refers to the first Christian buildings – the basilicas. The building is situated in specific environment – housing estate, on the top of the hill. It is divided into one-storey-high main ship based on an elliptic plan (building is two-storey-high in choir), which is rounded by the roof made from glued wooden timbers. Two lower block objects, containing the church facilities (sacristy, chapel, room for parents and children, sanitary facilities, etc.), are adjacent to the main ship. To the object is added the monumental entrance in the place of the main ship and a standalone tower – belfry, which makes the vertical dominant of the landscape. The horizontal axis is oriented in the north-south, the main entrance is situated in the north from the Horníkova street. The church is from the west followed by small square, intended not only for ceremonial processions connected with the religious ceremonies (open air holy masses), but for public use, too. The interior emphasizes art m

Řehák, Miroslav ; Sládek, Karel (advisor) ; Mašek, Vojtěch (referee)
The aim of this work is to find the spiritual backround of Antonín Dvořák's (1841−1904) cantata Stabat Mater. The work is divided into three main parts: a short summary of Antonín Dvořák's life before the composition of the cantata and the events which preceeded; the phenomenon Stabat Mater and the comparison of the origin and the conception of cantata with the chosen authors of the world's music and Dvořák's conception of the work, his emphasis and evaluation. The matter of the analysis is the process of merging of Dvořák's spiritual and musical life, the choice of Stabat Mater and his work's influence on his personal spiritual life. Another aspect of the work is searching for the criterion if the creation of musical work can be seen as spiritual or if it can't; the necessity of connection and life with the God's person, the Holy Ghost, unification with him and gradually growing into something which the artist can create in connection with the Holy Ghost and what through the Holy Ghost creates the spiritual work. The Dynamics of the Spiritual Thirst in Therese of Lisieux and Mother Theresa of Calcutta
Lachmanová, Marie ; Lachmanová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
Dynamics of spiritual thirst is an expression of the exchange of love between God and human being, which is the basic motivation for any Christian ministry. When a man encounters Jesus' thirst for the salvation of men, a desire to respond to this love is enkindled in his heart, most of all by taking part in collaborating in the salvation of souls. The deeper is the unity of the soul with Christ, the more she takes part in His salvific thirst, i. e. she is consumed by the desire to calm His thirst working at the salvation of souls. Both the intercessory prayer of Theresa of Lisieux, who lived hidden cloistered life, and Mother Theresa's worldwide mission of merciful love came out of the same source. It means that the dynamics of spiritual thirst is the deepest motivation of any Christian apostolic work and ministry. Key words Spiritual thirst, merciful love, Holy Spirit, salvation of souls, apostolic work
