Interpretation of Diaries by Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten

The bachelor´s thesis is focused on the interpretation of diaries of two Jewish authors - Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten. It is divided into four parts. The first part presents a methodology, on which is the thesis based and talks about an issue of a diary as an autobiographical genre. It works with terms autobiography, authenticity, and constructed stylization of the author's subject. The second part describes the historical context of the period of Jewish persecution based on specialist literature. Both third and fourth parts are focused on Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten and the interpretation of their diaries. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the diary with a focus on author's subject and point out its historical and rhetorical character as well.
Art Diary. The Project for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder (theoretical- project thesis)

The diploma thesis presents theoretical and practically focused material intended primarily for primary school teachers. The theoretical part defines and throughly describes the critical topics that represent the basis of created the series of art lessons. Its preparation and implementation are then embodied in the follow-up project part. The first chapter defines the term art diary, and afterwards, it presents a selected set of specific variants of this phenomenon from the perspective of art culture. The following two chapters are related to the issue of autism spectrum disorders. The last theoretical passage of the thesis deals with the possibilities of using the diary in the artistic activities of pupils with autism. Rich pictorial appendices complement the textual level of the work, and for readers, there are also available the structured individual lesson plans from the presented series of art lessons.

The main topic of this bachelor's thesis is the diary phenomenon, more specifically diary as a form of art or other visual form, such as photography. The purpose of its theoretical part is to briefly describe the general evolution of the traditional diaries and personal journals and subsequently deal with the diary as a specific form of art piece. This part also introduces Czech visual artists who used to work/still work with the diary phenomenon creatively - Vladimír Fuka, Jiří Kolář, Josef Jindřich Šechtl and František Skála. Theoretical part also deals with the new contemporary virtual forms of diaries such as personal websites, blogs and social networking sites, shows some of their specific examples (chosen from unique public social network profiles/accounts as well as from interesting online art projects). and describes generally the brief history of this phenomenon. The practical part of the thesis introduces author's own photographic diary project consisting of everyday photos taken to show personal feelings during her study stay abroad. Representation of the sixties of 20th century in literary autobiography

This work is an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the 1960s through an in-depth analysis of selected literary autobiographies. The first section is devoted to the theoretical foundation for exploring the chosen four texts of autobiographical literature. It is based on the analysis and subsequent comparison diaries of Ivan Diviš and Pavel Juráček and the memory of Vaclav Černý and Ota Filip. Additionally, this paper examines how these writers created an image of the 1960s and early 1970s.mFurther exploration includes narrative elements, for example, by what means texts are constructed, character space time, composition, and relationship to the audience. Moreover, the meaning of writing autobiographical literature, specifically the selected works, will be explored. Lastly, these major themes set the stage for the comprehensive analysis of the authors' works, revealing the creative design, history, society and culture of their time.
Kinguistic analyse of headlines in daily papers Hospodářské noviny and Blesk

The diploma thesis "The linguistic analysis of headlines in daily papers Hospodářské noviny and Blesk" deals with the analysis of headlines in articles that include the commentary genre, specifically in Hospodářské noviny and Blesk. In this work, there is analyzed the form of headlines, how they are set up, and how they relate to the content of the message. The thesis consists of theoretical and analytical parts. The theoretical parts describe the analyzed material, the method of linguistic analysis is described there and also the characteristic of headlines. It is followed by analysis which is divided into two parts. In the first part, there is observed the difference of using the types of sentences and also the kinds of modality in the headlines of observed daily papers and the second part of analysis studies the general headlines and the occurrence of metaphorical expression. It analyses occurring cases of metaphor, metonymy, personification and paraphrase and compares, if there are some differences between the daily papers in observing phenomena. Comparative analysis of the national newspaper supplements Salon, Kavarna and Orientace

Diploma thesis "Comparison analyses of national newspaper supplements Salon, Kavarna and Orientace" analyses supplements of national, daily released newspapers: Pravo (Salon), Mlada fronta DNES (Kavarna) and Lidove noviny (Orientace). Essential methods used in this work are quantitative analysis, applied to specified moths during years 2006-2008, and chronological analysis of chosen issues during years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2005. Based on them, various evaluations of supplement main characteristics, specific features and differences were observed. Most important characteristics investigated in the work are: supplement content and graphic conception, placement within the carrying newspaper, structure of published literature forms, themes and sub-themes. There can be also found summary of each supplement history, list of its typical authors and internet version description. Author of this thesis also introduced related overview of Czech literary and cultural magazines (Literarni noviny, Host, Divoke vino, Revolver Revue, Tvar nebo A2) and briefly stated profiles of main national newspapers. To gain supplement readers characteristics, approximate sociological questionnaire was processed among university students.
National Museum Library in the First Half of 20th Century by Eyes of Josef Volf

Josef Volf's diaries are for now unprocessed und unused source for research of life scientific and cultural elites in period of The First Czechoslowak Republic, for discovery the way of working of the National Museum Library and last but not least for familiarization with personality of her director. Author writes about ordinary events, everyday problems, relations with his colleagues and withal he attentively files his publishing activity. This thesis is occupied with last two parts of diary, which charts life of Josef Volf close before his death. From rows we get the knowledge about important personalities of public life and also about no longer known regional librarians, archivists or researchers. The goal is to detect as much of these names and events mentioned here as possible. The tendency is then the reconstruction of working of one cultural institution in the contemporary Czechoslowakia.
