Benefits of Equine Facilitated Learning for children with special needs

This bachelor thesis called "Benefits of Equine Facilitated Learning for children with special needs," presents one of the disciplines hiporehabilitation - Equine Facilitated Learning. It points out the possibility of their application in education and comprehensive rehabilitation. The thesis contains information about organizational issues, methodology and implementation of activities. It also offers closer information about problems of children with special needs. The main aim is to point out the benefits of Equine Facilitated Learning for personal development of these children. I was also doing research which demonstrated the positive impact on selected individuals with specific needs. In this thesis there is also processed an initial version of the new methodology of Equine Facilitated Learning. Child and horse : Animal Assisted activities for personal skills

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis defines the place of the AAA method in animotherapy and its use within hippotherapy. This part briefly presents the methodology and the range of clients of the Equine Assisted Activities (EAA). Moreover, human-animal interactions are introduced in terms of being an advantage for the personal development of a child. Additionally, risk factors related to child development are mentioned in this section. The results of the qualitative research, made up of a sample of children attending the private stable, is submitted in the practical part of the thesis. The research was based upon logs of observations and interviews with members of the stable using grounded theory. The purpose of the research is to demonstrate how contact with horses can help the mental and physical skills development of a child.

Canistherapy in school for children with special needs : children with multiple disabilities THESIS ABSTRACT The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis deals with the characteristics of canistherapy, its methodology and terminology, its phases of development and the current approach of this method. It also describes the most frequent disorders in children with multiple disabilities attending the Primary School and Practical School SVÍTÁNÍ, P.B.O., such as cerebral palsy and learning disability. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the research carried out by means of observation, interview and questionnaire in order to confirm or refute the presumption of a positive effect of canistherapy on children with multiple disabilities attending the Primary School and Practical School SVÍTÁNÍ, P.B.O. Animal as a child's therapist

This thesis is focused on upgrading of an existing education plan in specifically a classroom for children with special educational needs. The aim is to familiarize the reader with animotherapy as a full-fledged therapy and demonstrate its impact in practice in preschool children with an individual approach. This thesis will describe animotherapy based on theoretical and practical aspects. The focus will be mainly on the approaches, methods and resulting effects of animotherapists when working with children with a special educational program. The first chapter of the theoretical part is focused on clarifying key concepts in preschool children. It describes the structure and the dynamics of personality theory of attachment and psychosocial as well as emotional development of preschool children. The second part describes the format of animotherapy mainly focusing on canine therapy and hippotherapy. The methodological section contains qualitative research strategy, introduces readers to the characteristics of class and education program including the organization and conditions for education in our kindergarten. The practical part is focused on finding specific approaches and methods of animotherapists. I conducted semi-structured interviews with therapists, children and their parents. They also describe the activities of Direct Group, frontal and individual animotherapy. The conclusion, summarizes what methods used in this therapy are desirable and process of development of children in full-year inclusion using this unique method.
Hippo re-education of behavior disorders of children and teenagers

The present thesis is focused on hippo rehabilitation as a novel technique for re-education of adult and child behavior disorders. The work briefly characterizes issues of adult and child behavior disorders and presents how hippo rehabilitation can be used to positively influence their bad behaviour patterns. The importance of social behavior of horses for re-education of behavior disorders is clarified based on the knowledge of the horse Etology during rehabilitation lessons. In the end of the theoretical part, ?American programme? that use mustang horses for re-socialization of prisoners is described and its parallels are implied to hippo rehabilitation. The practical part of the thesis describes a few chosen hippo rehabilitation centers in the Czech Republic and one center in Germany. Therapeutic approaches to individual client needs are discussed. The positive effect of hippo rehabilitation is documented by three attached case studies describing courses of rehabilitation. In conclusion, the chosen courses of rehabilitation are compared.
Hiporehabilitation as a tool of integration

One of the parts of the whole system of rehabilitation is also the treatment using horses or so called hiporehabilitation. Thanks to its complex effectivity, it is a unique and irreplaceable therapeutical method. The aim of this work is to prove how hiporehabilitation helps disabled people integration into the society and how it contributes to social contacts improvement of the users.
