NutriCheQ: A screening tool for toddlers nutrition deficiencies
Kaprová, Jana ; Gonsorčíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Floriánková, Marcela (referee)
For many reasons, toddlerhood is one of the key periods in relation to nutrition. Among the experts, general pediatricians have the best chance to influence the quality of nutrition in children of this age. It is questionable whether they pay enough attention to the topic of toddler nutrition during regular check-ups. They have the opportunity to use the NutriCHEQ program, which comprehensively solves the issue of nutrition in toddler age. It includes the NutriCHEQ questionnaire, which screens for deficiencies in the nutrition of toddlers, and a set of brochures that offer solutions to the revealed problems. The goal of this work is to use the NutriCHEQ questionnaire to assess the quality of nutrition and eating habits of toddlers and then to analyze the dependence of the facts on selected factors on the part of the child and his family. Another goal is to compare the course of nutrition counseling for infants and for toddlers in the practice of pediatricians. Research related to toddler nutrition was conducted in the form of a questionnaire survey, in which 96 children aged 12-35 months participated. Their parents filled out the NutriCHEQ questionnaire and the Supplemental questionnaire, which was focused on selected data about the child and his or her family. A total of 6 doctors completed the...
Changes in nutritional status and body composition in children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa
Kaduchová, Pavla ; Floriánková, Marcela (advisor) ; Kytnarová, Jitka (referee)
This thesis deals with changes in nutritional status and body composition in adolescent girls with anorexia nervosa (AN) during realimentation. The main aim of the thesis (i) is to compare the nutritional status and body composition of 16 patients at the beginning of realimentation and with a 6-month interval. Secondary objective (ii) is to compare the course and treatment success of 20 patients with AN diagnosed before the covid-19 pandemic and 21 patients diagnosed during the pandemic. Patients were also compared (iii) with a control group of 14 healthy age-matched girls. Data were analyzed using Statistica 12 software. Results: (i) In the 16 patients who attended the follow-up examination, there was a significant increase in body weight and BMI (both p < 0,001) from the initial 40,7±6,54 kg (BMI 15,69±1,97) to 48,7±9,0 kg (BMI 18,26±2,60) during realimentation. Significant increase was observed in both fat (p<0,01) and non-fat (p<0,05) mass. Also, a significant increase (p < 0,01) was found in resting energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry after 6 months of realimentation. Comparing REE measured by indirect calorimetry and calculated according to the Schofield equation, it was found that while these values were statistically significantly (p < 0,001) different before realimentation,...
Physiotherapy in gynecology - current practice in the Czech Republic: qualitative research
Štěpánková, Helena ; Honců, Pavla (advisor) ; Kaucká, Eva (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the current practice of gynecological physiotherapy in the Czech Republic. Research was done by structured interviews. The aims of the thesis were: to map physiotherapy procedures in the field of gynecology, to identify the approaches of physiotherapists to the treatment of various gynecological problems, to identify their educational needs, to identify how they collaborate with other medical specialists. The research combines quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the quantitative part focusing on the attitudes of physiotherapists towards the challenges of starting in the field of gynecological physiotherapy and their further education, while the qualitative part examines the variability of approaches by physiotherapists to treatment and collaboration with medical specialists. The conclusions of the quantitative part suggest that gynecologists are not the main source of information about gynecological physiotherapy for most patients. Instead, they obtain information through recommendations from acquaintances or by searching online. Interestingly, the majority of respondents adapt and modify the methods learned from courses based on their experiences and the needs of their patients. This approach to method modification contributes to the flexibility and...
Expansionary Fiscal Consolidation Revisited: Evidence from the Over-Indebted Europe
Máca, Jaroslav ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Holub, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis studies macroeconomic effects of fiscal consolidation on a sample of EU-28 countries for a period from 2004 to 2019 sticking primarily to the state-of-the-art narrative approach. For this purpose, we collect additional 2037 new fiscal measures to update publicly available dataset used in some previous papers. This is of interest as we demonstrate that cyclically adjusted primary balance in case of conventional approach can disregard a number of relevant findings. We do find moderate indications that fiscal consolidation can turn out to be expansionary in terms of enhancing GDP growth. In line with the existing literature, private investment is shown to react more strongly than private consumption. Nevertheless, success in terms of reducing public debt-to-GDP ratio is limited due to the low persistence of austerity measures. However, currency appreciation in countries with floating exchange rate regime can inhibit full materialization of growth-enhancing potential of fiscal consolidation. In the end, central bank is shown to cut interest rates to offset recessionary pressures. Further research shall revisit the role of composition. In fact, we reveal that tax-based austerity measures are typically chosen as "adjustment of the last resort" and successfully reverse course of history, while...

Bouzková, Nikol ; Jankovičová, Karolína (advisor) ; Souček, Ondřej (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Author: Bc. Nikol Bouzková Supervisor: Mgr. Karolína Jankovičová, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Monitoring of sublingual allergen immunotherapy using serum levels of allergen specific IgG antibodies The first aim of the thesis was to evaluate the clinical course of sublingual allergen immunotherapy (SLIT). Another aim was to assess the changes in antibody response over time and to compare the results of the Oralair treated group with the control group. Last but not least, the aim of the thesis was to evaluate the changes in the levels of specific IgG antibodies in relation to the clinical course of SLIT. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used for the clinical assessment of allergic symptoms. A commercially available ELISA method was used to determine sIgG4 against grass pollen allergens. sIgG1, sIgG2 and sIgG3 were determined by an in-house developed and validated ELISA. Based on the results, statistical analysis was performed. It was found that Oralair therapy was clinically effective from the first season of the treatment. The VAS results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the manifestation of allergic symptoms between the treatment and the control group. A...
Testing of PLGA films for local delivery of cannabidiol
Juhászová, Daniela ; Šnejdrová, Eva (advisor) ; Svačinová, Petra (referee)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Author: Daniela Juhászová Title of thesis: Testing of PLGA films for local delivery of cannabidiol Supervisor: PharmDr. Eva Šnejdrová, PhD. Consultant: PharmDr. Andrea Věříš The aim of the presented work was to study film forming systems for the formation of in situ films (FFS). FFS based on PLGA linear or branched architecture were formulated. The polymers were plasticized with methyl salicylate (MS) or ethyl pyruvate (EP) and incorporated with cannabidiol (CBD). Ethyl acetate, acetone and isopropanol were tested as solvents. In the theoretical section, the general characteristics of the excipients used for the FFS formulation were summarized. In the experimental section, the course of evaporation of the organic solvent from FFS and the effect of the used plasticizer were monitored. The physicochemical properties of the in situ films were characterized using DSC, the SEM method and a tensile test on a rheometer. It was concluded that the solvent evaporation time from FFS is influenced by the used plasticizer, whereas faster solvent evaporation occurred with EP plasticization. DSC showed that the incorporated cannabidiol is dissolved in the in situ film and significantly plasticizes the film. The...
Contemporary debates on IVG in France
Šťastná, Hana ; Matějka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
Between 2020 and 2022, France underwent a two-year legislative process leading to the change of induced abortion's conditions. In the course of it, the originally declared reasons for the change completely disappeared, and instead the presenters imphasized the long-term problems of the French healthcare systém, regarding real access to induced abortions. This legislation was followed by an amendment to the Constitution, finalized in 2024, which introduced the guaranteed freedom to resort to induced abortion under conditions set by law.
Clothing in Medieval Latin Bohemian Chronicles from the 12th to the 14th Century
Šaldová, Zuzana ; Falátková, Michaela (advisor) ; Martinek, Radek (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and translation of texts dealing with clothing in the Latin Premyslid chronicles in the 12th to 14th centuries, specifically, the Chronicle of Cosmas, the First Continuers of Cosmas, the Chronicles of Vincentius and Jarloch, the Second Continuers of Cosmas and the Zbraslav Chronicle. Medieval clothing evolved from ancient clothing, and gradually, mostly arranged fabrics were used to create sewn and in many cases intricately cut dresses and accessories. This development is partly evidenced by wall paintings, illuminations, and sculptures, from which the colour scheme and partly the pattern can be reconstructed, and from archaeological finds we can learn about the material and its composition. However, to complete the history of fashion, we also need names, preferably original ones, which can be helped by contemporary literature, but also by chronicles. Their authors do not always describe exactly what the garment looked like or what the fabric was made of, although there are of course exceptions, but they do mention, for example, various customs associated with the garment or various clerical transgressions.

Preconceptional preparation of a women and factors affecting planned conception
Rektoříková, Iva ; Vaisová, Veronika (advisor) ; Čiháková, Karolína (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of preconception preparation in women of reproductive age and factors that influence planned conception. The health status of a woman in the preconception period has an impact on spontaneous conception, the course of pregnancy or fetal development. Since women are primarily focused on healthy lifestyles during pregnancy, it is desirable to address this topic more closely. The thesis is designed as a theoretical-practical one. The theoretical part describes the areas that have been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as priorities in the preconception period. These areas include healthy nutrition, weight management, physical activity, planned pregnancy and physical, mental and psychosocial health. They are also key factors in determining the overall health of the population, but in this case the emphasis is on their links with women's reproductive health and spontaneous conception. Furthermore, the theoretical part includes the issues of endocrine disruptors and gynaecological physiotherapy. In the practical part, the results of an anonymous questionnaire survey conducted in an online environment are presented. The main aim was to find out how women who had planned to become pregnant prepared for conception. The following sub-objectives were...
