Artephiletics in a retirement home
Zíková, Kateřina ; Hanková, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Linková, Marie (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to design and verify a set of activities for seniors using the methods of artephiletics. The main part of the work was to create activation exercises aimed on strengthening the self-confidence and self-awareness with the help of artistic expression. In the theoretical part, the terminological background from the field of gerontology, gerontopedagogy and artephiletics is clarified. This part is followed by closer characteristics of the specific social facilities, where the project was implemented and verified. The contents of the practical part are medallions of clients with whom the project was performed. The design of used exercises considers the individual psycho-motoric abilities of clients. This is followed by the realization itself with progress recording and self-evaluation with suggestions for changes and a partial evaluation of each activity. In the thesis conclusion an overall evaluation of the project and self- reflection is presented. The main object of the thesis was successfully fulfilled; the designed project was verified on two groups of seniors. According to clients' feedback, whole project proved to be meaningful and valuable. KEYWORDS Seniors, Ageing, Activation activities, Artephiletics, Visual arts, Reflective dialogue.
Physiological responses of walking on high obstacle
Zíková, Kateřina ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
Title: Physiological responses of walking on high obstacles Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to determine the effect of height on the physiological response of the organism when crossing an obstacle. Methods: In this experimental study, the energy demand of crossing an obstacle was assessed using the method of indirect calorimetry. 27 probands were crossing a low obstacle for 4 minutes and an high obstacle for 4 minutes, the monitored parameters were heart rate (HR), minute ventilation (VE), oxygen consumption (VO2), respiratory rate (RR), tidal volume (VT) Results: Crossing high obstacle raised physiological response compared to crossing low obstacle. VE parameter increased by an average of 87%. VO2 increased by 70%, RR by 39%, HR by 33%, VT by 27%. Conclusion: Walking high above the ground reflects the subjectively perceived risk with a physiological response. The height of the obstacle, which subjectively perceived risk, increases the metabolic demand of walking by 2/3. Kewords: balance, walking high above the ground, stress, energy expenditure
Psychological Aspects of Pretending Orgas
Zíková, Kateřina ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Lexová, Eliška (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the psychological aspects of pretending orgasm. In most cases this deceptive behaviour is caused by sexual dysfunction, therefore the first chapter is devoted to these difficulties. In the following section the prevalence of this phenomenon is discussed as well as the methods of pretending and other findings based on previous studies in this area. An individual may be motivated to pretend by circumstantial, internal, and relational factors, thus the thesis discusses various reasons leading to this behaviour. Furthermore, associations of pretending orgasm with adult attachment, communication between partners and satisfaction are summarized. In the empirical part of the thesis, research was conducted using the translated PORM inventory to explore the most common reasons for pretending orgasm in the Czech Republic and their associations with its frequency and certain socio-demographic variables. After the analysis of almost two hundred responses, it was found that Czech women, in comparison to Czech men, pretend more for their partner's sake and to improve emotional communication/closeness, whereas men pretend more because of insecurity and manipulation/power. Respondents who often use this deceptive strategy reported significantly more pretending for the reasons "Feels...
Regulation of cholesterol metabolism in hepatocytes
Ziková, Kateřina ; Vlachová, Miluše (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis summarizes current data about cholesterol metabolism and its regulation in the liver. First part describes cholesterol transport among tissues by lipoproteins. Second part of this work deals with description of metabolic pathways of cholesterol conversion - how the cells obtain and metabolise cholesterol. Almost all cells can synthesize cholesterol or take it up from the circulation. The cells dispose of abundant cholesterol by several mechanisms - they convert cholesterol to cholesteryl esters that can be stored in lipid droplets; they turn cholesterol into oxysterols that can escape easier from the cell; or they export cholesterol through ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. Specialized tissues (adrenal, gonads) transform cholesterol to steroid hormones. However, only the liver can remove cholesterol from the body in physiologically significant amount - it secretes cholesterol into the bile either directly or after conversion to bile acids. Third section deals with regulation of cholesterol metabolism in hepatocyte. Three transcription factors - sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP), liver X receptor (LXR), and farnesoid X receptor (FXR) - play the main role in regulation. Their activities are determined by concentration of cellular cholesterol or its metabolites -...
Education of primary and secondary school teachers in first aid and their evaluation of this issue
Zíková, Kateřina ; Prokešová, Eva (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Education of primary and secondary school teachers in first aid and their evaluation of this issue Objectives: The main object of this work was to find out how teachers on primary and secondary school evaluate content and form of first aid education. Partial goal was to find out how do they rate their owns skills in providing first aid and act corectly in situations, which endanger their student's health. Methods: This is qualitative research, which uses an empirical method of questionnaire survey. 34 primary and secondary school teachers in the Czech republic attended a test battery. A test battery of 24 questions was compiled to collect the answers and it's distribution was carried out via the survio.cz platform. Results: The study suggested, that primary and secondary schools's teachers rate first aid education as important, but they prefer to be educated in range of skills, which they can in their work need. Most of the teachers, who work in environment with an increased risk of injury, evaluates school¨'s attitude to this issue as inadequate and they would be grateful for better conditions for mastering first aid procedures. On the contrary, theoretical subjects teachers rate their skills in providing first aid as sufficient. Teachers, who do not encounter these situation very often,...
Clitic reduplication of object in contemporary Spanish
Ziková, Kateřina ; Čermák, Petr (advisor) ; Zavadil, Bohumil (referee)
In this work, the pronominal reduplication is interpreted as an agreement of the verb with the object by means of a clitic. In this way, the object resembles the subject, which agrees with the verb by means of an affix. However, while the subject agreement is absolutely regular, the agreement of the object, or reduplication, is conditioned by diverse factors. These factors are the main object of investigation in this work. The reinterpretation of the object clitics as agreement markers is the consequence of their grammaticalization from the original character of unstressed personal pronouns towards the character of verbal affixes. The dative clitics are rather further in this process than the accusative clitics - they conserve less pronominal features, and also the reduplication of the indirect object is much more frequent than the reduplication of direct object. This is related to the fact that the indirect object is by its nature closer to the subject, therefore it favours more the regular agreement with the predicate. Key words: pronominal reduplication, clitic doubling, object pronouns, clitics, direct object, indirect object, spanish syntax
