Planning of future in families with a child with intellectual disability

This work deals with the issue of future planning in families with a child with mental disabilities. The theoretical part outlines the definition of a family, the specifics of families with a child with mental disabilities, social services for adults with mental disabilities, and the specifics of future planning for people with mental disabilities. Within the practical part of the bachelor thesis, the methodology of the chosen approach is defined, and the results of the research survey are interpreted. The aim of the work is to find out how families with a child with mental disabilities approach future planning. The chosen research method is semi- structured interviews with ten respondents. The testimonies of parents and siblings of children with mental disabilities provided insight into the approach to future planning, the difficulties associated with this topic, and the unique stories of individual families.

Family of child with an intellectual disability

The topic of the bachelor thesis is family of a child with intellectual disability and the aim was to find out how the birth of a child with intellectual disabilities affected the life of his family and how the family experienced this situation. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to an introduction to the issue of intellectual disability. It also deals with the topic of family, the birth of a child with intellectual disability and the process of its acceptance. It also looks at the changes in the lives of families of children with intellectual disabilities. The practical part is a qualitative research that explores the experiences of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews and then analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. The result of the thesis is an interpretation of the experience of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities and the lived experience of caring for their child. Relationships in the family of a child with combined disability

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of relationships in the family of a child with a combined disability, it also deals with the economic and social situation and the impact of the child's disability on siblings and the extended family. The theoretical part contains three chapters. In the first chapter, the term "combined disability", its types, social services supporting families with combined disabilities and individual types of disabilities are defined: developmental brain disorder, SYNGAP, autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy, cortical visual impairment, ADHD, which are reflected in my research part of my bachelor's thesis, and I also mention other types of combined disability (Down syndrome, cerebral palsy). The second chapter is focused on the term "family", where I describe the functions, signs, and types of family. The third part of the bachelor's thesis is devoted to the description of interpersonal relationships, partner relationships, sibling relationships and how these relationships are affected by a child with a disability. Availability and Development of Early Care in Support of Children with Social Disadvantage in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the availability and possibilities of developing early childhood care in support of children with social disadvantages. The theoretical part is focuses on early child development in the context of social disadvantage and early care, aiming to describe and demonstrate the significance of early care, including insights from foreign studies and research. The empirical part is based on qualitative research, semi-structured interviews with seven respondents, who were employees in organizations or facilities involved in the Early Care Platform. The data were analyzed and interpreted primarily based on methodological materials by Švaříček and Šeďová (2007). The analysis was conducted using the open coding method, with data interpretation subsequently employing the card sorting technique. The main goal of the thesis was to explore and evaluate the state of availability of early care services in the Czech Republic and possibilities for its development. Family of child with Kabuki synrome

The thesis deals with the family of a child with Kabuki syndrome. In the Czech Republic, the diagnosis was established in 2010. The main objective of the thesis was to compile comprehensive information about the family of a child with Kabuki syndrome and to determine more detailed information about the functioning of this family in the areas of upbringing, experiences with the school system, and also the utilization of support by the family. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses the definition of Kabuki syndrome, the history of research on this rare condition, diagnosis, and characteristic features in individuals with Kabuki syndrome. The second chapter focuses in more detail on the clinical symptoms of Kabuki syndrome, from health issues and treatment options to levels of cognitive function. The third chapter specifies on families of children with rare diseases, and the following chapter discusses the possibilities of support for families of children with Kabuki syndrome. The empirical part consists of a research investigation focusing on a child with Kabuki syndrome, the family of the child, and the functioning of the family through semi-structured interviews and a case study.

Specifics of a family with a handicapped child

The diploma thesis is focused on researching the impact of a disabled child on the family from birth to adulthood and follows the specifics of a family with a disabled child. It is about the effect on the family as a whole, as well as the effect on individual family members and the relationships between them. An important aspect is also the impact on the formation of relationships between siblings and relatives, as well as the influence on the social environment of the family. In the theoretical part, the thesis deals with basic concepts such as family and its functions and factors affecting it, disability, types and consequences of disability. In the practical part, the work focuses on researching the impact of a disabled child on the family from birth to adulthood. The goal of this work was the best possible understanding of the impact of the arrival of a disabled child in the family and the impact of the newly created situation on family members. The main topic is to focus on their states and reactions in the individual stages of life with a disabled child and to find out how and in what form it is possible to help eliminate the negative effects of a disabled child on individual family members and their own lives. The thesis is about a family of a child with Kabuki syndrome. The first chapter deals with the syndrome itself, diagnosis, clinical symptoms and cognitive functions. The second chapter describes the family with the rare condition, the family in the context of the history and what stages the family of the child with the rare condition goes through. The next chapter discusses support for the family with a rare disease, and also includes the concept of a non-profit organization and an association. The practical section explores the family of an individual with Kabuki syndrome, and includes an interview with a family member. The research section is supplemented with a case study.
