This thesis deals with a feasibility study of a business plan for a restaurant in Brno, which combines the concept of an American BBQ with a microbrewery. The aim of the thesis is to conduct a comprehensive study that includes an analysis of the market, competitive environment, marketing strategy, financial plan and operational plan to establish and sustain such a venture in the market. The thesis provides an overview of the opportunities and challenges associated with operating a restaurant with a brewery in Brno and provides recommendations for successfully starting a business in this area.

Multimodal System for Multi-Object Tracking in Real-Time

This thesis deals with the topic of multi-object multi-sensor tracking. A conventional track-oriented multiple hypothesis tracking (TOMHT) pipeline is implemented in C++ programming language and an implementable interface is designed, enabling to easily extend the core algorithm with arbitrary sensors and measured target attributes, making the system multimodal, i.e.\ applicable in heterogeneous systems of sensors. A novel algorithm for solving combinatorial optimization arising in TOMHT is proposed. Finally, few example implementations of the interface are provided and the system is evaluated in simulated and real-world scenarios.

Image Registration from Static UAV Platform for Ground Objects Localization

This paper describes development of new robust method for video registration into shared space. Then it is possible to georegister this video to satellite image using single arbitrary frame. Developed high-level method is based on state-of-the-art low-level image processing algorithms. It is robust to huge and/or instant changes in lighting conditions of the scene and changes in geometry of the view. Global error problem is converted to shortest path optimization problem. Local error is minimized via fusion of two approaches to video stabilization.

This master´s thesis seeks to create an effective and meaningful business plan, which will be used as a basis for investment project of the SQS spol. s.r.o. company. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the theory of business plan and market analysis. Analytical and proposal part is based on the theoretical part. It is all followed by application of specific business plan including the assessment of investment efficiency.

Topics in Yield Curve Modeling

The aim of the thesis is to examine the interaction of macroeconomic and fi- nancial factors through the lens of yield curve dynamics. The thesis consists of three essays that jointly demonstrate the complexity of information incorporated in the yield curve and the importance of attributing yield curve movements to those factors correctly. The first essay uses news-based approach to identify triggers of the U.S. Treasury yield curve movements and demonstrates shifts in the importance of various causes of the movements. The second essay further evaluates the transmission of fiscal policy shocks to the U.S. Treasury yield curve. The first and the second essay together contribute to the literature by showing that the factors beyond the U.S. economic conditions and monetary policy have been becoming an increasingly important cause of the U.S. yield curve movements. These factors include changes in portfolio allocation, cross-border flight to quality and changes in fiscal policy. The third essay proposes a novel method to apply the up-to-date yield curve models to a government bond yield curve in an economy with a relatively shallow government bond market, using the case of the Czech government bond yield curve. Dendrochronology improves understanding of the charcoal production history, increasing the tourist potential in the Drahany Highlands

Over the last two years, three selected forest sites from Drahany Highlands were examined for traces of human activity. The most frequent traces found, and common to all three sites, were remains of charcoal production. This paper provides an anatomical and dendrochronological analysis of the charcoals found in two charcoal pile remains from each site. The species composition of the charcoals at the southern site was dominated by oak, followed by birch and hornbeam. Fir was more common than oak, beech, poplar, birch and hornbeam at the central site. Fir and beech were found at the northern site. By using dendrochronology, 23 fir, oak and beech charcoals were dated with the oldest sample coming from a central site and dated from the period 1753–1758. Charcoals from the three other charcoal piles fell into the first half of the 19th century. Radiocarbon dating of charcoals selected gave a very wide age range (1640–1955), except for one case (1399–1435). Providing information on the age of a charcoal pile can help raise public awareness and interest in viewing the sites where charcoal burners used to be active in the forests.

Heritage conservation of the remains of human activity in the forest

The main objectives of the methodology include: 1. setting the issue in the legislative environment; 2. introducing the processes of disturbance of objects in the forest environment; 3. characterization of modern methods of identification of objects in forests; 4. introducing the practical procedure of identification of objects of human activities in forests; 5. proposing procedures for ensuring the preservation and presentation of anthropogenic remains of human activities in forests for state administration and local government. The methodology was developed in cooperation between experts in the humanities and natural sciences. It seeks to apply and combine procedures of different disciplines. The methodology is recommended to be used with methodology Methods and procedures for the protection of anthropogenic objects of historical human economic activity in forests (Kadavý et al. 2022). The two methodologies are complementary to each other.
