The reception of the serial Friends by high school students: the effect of viewer's pleasure on the use of sit-com
Přivřelová, Iva ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Trampota, Tomáš (referee)
The main aim of this paper has been to confirm (or not) my hypothesis that a viewer's pleasure can and does modify the ideology embedded in a text of popularculture, but the quality of this modification depends on recipient's context. To be able to prove this, I did a qualitative research among seven high school students of an age group between 17 and 18. I asked them questions concerning their viewer's experience of watching the American sit-cam Friends and their opinions and views on this show and on some general topics related to it. All references in newspapers in relation to QMI talk-shows were taken into account in research focused on analysis of processed input data. The representatives of Czech political scene participated in QMI talk-shows and discussed various issues moderated by Vaclav Moravec. Problems of siding in the media on the exemple of football coverage on SK Slavia Praha and AC Sparta Praha in the newspaper Sport
Myslivcová, Jana ; Kraus, Jiří (referee) ; Trampota, Tomáš (advisor)
Diploma thesis on "Problems of siding in the media on the example of football coverage on SK Slavia Praha and AC Sparta Praha in the newspaper Sport" is about a different newspaper coverage of the Sport of football teams Slavia and Sparta in the autumn part of the Gambrinus League in the period 2008/09. The hypothesis is that Sport biased to Slavia and reported unobjectively during the period. In that period, the Slavia was succesful and Sparta not and this fact might have been the reason of the differentiated coverage. This thesis presents the front pages of Sport, it's newspaper articles and framing of them as well as the classification of teams and their players by the editors in selected weeks from August to December 2008. Apart from the issue of objectivity, this thesis also marginally examines whether there also occurs a tabloidization in the examined articles.

Javůrek, Karel ; Křeček, Jan (referee) ; Trampota, Tomáš (advisor)
The theme of this BA thesis deals with news related to Cuba. The reason for choosing this theme is an opportunity to cover a media image of a particular country with political system and ideology that is different from our country and which, nevertheless, connect us through the same historical experience. Last but not least reason for this choice was my personal interest in this country and its history. Data were investigated in daily newspapers Právo and Mladá fronta Dnes. The result of this work is a description of message stereotypes in these newspapers. Further the comparison of differencies in the representation of this country in the two newspapers is drawn, in terms of different target groups of readers. I have also attempeted to identify what news values have been accented in these newspapers. The method chosen is a qualitative analysis. The theme has not been proccesed yet.

Hlavicová, Lenka ; Trampota, Tomáš (referee) ; Jirák, Jan (advisor)
The thesis "Analysis of prime time television scheduling for ČT 1 in the period 2003 - 2008" discusses the public Czech Television programming track and analyzes its first program in the prime time in selected six years. The theoretical section provides facts about the historical context of television broadcasts aimed particularly at those who provide so called public service, which in the case of the Czech Republic means ČT 1. Another major section is a theoretical typology of schedule. This section defines the types of programs which are subject to further analysis. The concept of prime time is explained as the main time variable in the analysis. The practical part is analyzing statistical data indicative of the frequency of each type of program in the selected period and are classified into the charts and graphs. Along with this data is evaluated by the ratings of individual programs and these are mutually compared and ranked. The finding is that during the selected period was changed schedule. I have looked for reasons that would lead to any change and what impact these changes may have on the ratings of individual programs.
