Toxicovigilance of accidents with household chemical products in the Czech Republic.

1 Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate the numbers, severity and causes of accidents, occurring in the households due to the cleaning products. Among the groups of potentially dangerous cleaning products, the highest proportion of accidents was caused by cleaning products containing sodium hypochloride (37 %), descalers containing acids (29 %) and dishwasher tablets (25 %). A lower percentage of inquiries appeared due to hydroxides containing drain cleaning products (7 %). In the year 2009, there were 251 inquiries to the Toxicological Information Centre due to cleaning products in defined categories studied. Among them, there were 133 children and 118 adult patients, who ingested cleaning product accidentally (86%) or for suicidal purposes (3%); inhaled (9%) or had an eye contact with the product (2%). There were 23% children and 27% adults hospitalized; the children most frequently due to accidental ingestion of hydroxides (92%), the adults due to the inhalation of irritant vapors (64%). Among them 14% children (86% due to the ingestion of cleaning products containing hydroxides) have been examined using the endoscopy (in the total anesthesia), in addition to 5% adults. The effect of magnetic field and other selected stressors on physiology of bacterial cells

This thesis deals with the effect of magnetic field and organic substances, namely benzene and p-nitrophenol, on cell of PHA producing bacteria Cupriavidus necator H16 and mutant strain Cupriavidus necator PHB4, which does not produce polyhydroxyalkanoates. Static magnetic field was generated by both permanent magnet and electromagnet. The effect of magnetic field on the growth of bacterial cells was studied using growth curves. It was found that cultivation in magnetic field and mineral medium mostly inhibits bacterial growth. Also the amount of polyhydroxyalkanoates was observed using FT-IR, flow cytometry and microscopy with fluorescent dye. Growth curves and flow cytometry were also used to study the influence of organic substances on bacterial cells. It was found that while benzene does not affect either C. necator H16 or C. necator PHB4, p-nitrophenol acts as the inhibitor of bacterial growth for both cultures. Finally the impact of p-nitrophenol on the accumulation of PHA was studied using gas chromatography.

Analysis of the performance management in the organisation

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the analysis of the performance management in the company Dum zahranicni spoluprace p.o. The main goal of the Bachelor Thesis is to analyze and evaluate the performance management in the company and to formulate potential suggestions for optimization. The main sources for the system analysis are interviews with employees, internal documents from the company and quantitative questioning of employees using questionnaires. Based on the results, strengths and weaknesses of the system were identified. The performance management in the company can be described as correctly set according to the theoretical findings in comparison with the data from the employee survey.

Public Library Services Focusing on Teenagers: An Analysis

The aim of this work is to analyze public library services focusing on teenagers. Theoretical part describes definition of a public library and its services and analysis of some services focusig on teenagers offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Practical part is devoted to analysis of history and the current situation of surveyed public libraries (in Tábor, Strakonice, Český Krumlov and Soběslav). There is also a research included in this section - it is questioning libraries which services they offer to teenagers or why they don't offer this services. This work presents analysis of the different sizes of Czech public libraries in services focused on teenagers and also summary of this services offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Marketing analysis of additional and extra services of libraries. Their importance for attendance and financial benefits

Theoretical part describes marketing and its benefits for libraries, definition of a public library and services, brief analysis of financing libraries and analysis of some additional and extra services offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Practical part is devoted to analysis of history and the current situation in Tabor City Library and services it offers. There is also a research included in this section questioning whether readers know and use an additional and extra library services. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - The Effect of Alcohol Abuse during Pregnancy on Early Psychomotor Development of the Child

The thesis devotes to the negative effects of alcohol abuse during pregnancy on early psychical development of the child. It surveys the problematic fields of development of the children who were prenatally exposed to alcohol. The theoretical survey is accompanied by qualitative empirical part, which contains four case studies of children in the age of 6 - 72 weeks whose mothers were drinking alcohol during pregnancy. There are several problematic areas in the development of these children, for example growth deficit, retardation of the psychomotor development (especially in speech, gross motor skills and social behaviour), attachment disorders and eating disorders. Structure and properties of bacterial biofilms

This thesis deals with the study of basic properties of cells of bacterial biofilm produced by PHA producing bacteria, specifically Burkholderia cepacia and Burkholderia sacchari. Two cultivation approaches were used to compare different types of cells: at first, the cells were cultivated in bioreactor providing both planktonic and biofilm attached cells, secondly, cells grown on Petri dishes were also included in the study. In experimental part the affinity of each type of cells to hydrophobic phase was studied using BATH method. It was found that sessile cells, either biofilm associated cells as well as cells taken from Petri dishes, prefer hydrophobic phases more than planktonic cells. Also size and Zeta potential were measured using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). It was found for studied samples that, cells in these samples tend to aggregate and the difference of size between both types of cells occurs only for biofilm of the strain Burkholderia cepacia. Finally the impact of presence various bacterial cells types on surface tension of water as well as amount of PHA cumulated in different types of cells were observed.

Informatization and electronization in field of public administration and its development in Central Bohemia region

The work generally defines public administration informatization and electronization. It analyzes legislative security of public administration in relation to inhabitants. Shortly presents a historical overview of institutions, which are responsible for realization of information policy in field of public administration informatization and electronization. In deep go in for various projects in field of public administration and information needs of inhabitants 4 in relation to public administration. The work brings overview about investigation results of exploitation of information and communication technologies. Analyses public administration electronization, and, after short historical overview, the work focuses on problems of electronic signature and electronic registries. In next chapter the work presents information systems of public administration, relevant legislation and amendment of act. Subsequently the work occupy by the Central Bohemia Region, which is part of the public administration, regional authority, which is one of its authority, and Central Bohemia Scientific library in Kladno, where analyzes development of informatization and electronization. Final evaluation of informatization and electronization in field of public administration in Czech Republic reports the last chapter of this work.

Integrated information system of administrative activities

Tématem práce je charakteristika správních evidencí vedených v informačních systémech Ministerstva vnitra a dalších správních činností na úseku matriky a přestupků. Správní činnosti budou analyzovány z hlediska příslušné legislativy, která bude následně zhodnocena a bude navržena nová právní úprava. Cílem práce je ucelená informace o správních činnostech, analýza správních evidencí, ostatních správních činností a podání informace o poskytovaných údajích z informačního systému těchto evidencí. Práce se bude dále věnovat informacím o cestovních dokladech s biometrickými prvky a přípravě projektu. Na základě provedeného výzkumu bude podána prezentace výsledků analýzy získávání informací o správních evidencích a ostatních právních činnostech. V této části se práce bude dále věnovat stupni znalostí správních evidencí a ostatních správních činnosti, zdrojům informací o správních činnostech, hodnocení poskytovaných informačních služeb, frekvenci využívání informačních služeb, obecné informovanosti o zákonech a vyhláškách správních činností a znalosti zákona o svobodném přístupu k informacím a to z pohledu občana. V závěru práce jsou uvedeny výsledky vlastní analýzy a jejich zhodnocení.
