Supporting the development of metacognitive skills nd compensatory strategies in students with specific learning disabilities

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to investigate the learning strategies of students with specific learning disabilities. It is divided into two parts. The theoretical part offers an insight into specific learning disabilities, presents their definitions, their manifestations in the school educational process and their implications for education. The empirical part uses qualitative research to highlight the different learning strategies used by students with specific learning disabilities. Using semi-structured interviews with students with specific learning disabilities, it seeks to identify methods that would contribute to more effective learning. The research section described the statements from the informants and also presented their experiences of support in education.
Planning of future in families with a child with intellectual disability

This work deals with the issue of future planning in families with a child with mental disabilities. The theoretical part outlines the definition of a family, the specifics of families with a child with mental disabilities, social services for adults with mental disabilities, and the specifics of future planning for people with mental disabilities. Within the practical part of the bachelor thesis, the methodology of the chosen approach is defined, and the results of the research survey are interpreted. The aim of the work is to find out how families with a child with mental disabilities approach future planning. The chosen research method is semi- structured interviews with ten respondents. The testimonies of parents and siblings of children with mental disabilities provided insight into the approach to future planning, the difficulties associated with this topic, and the unique stories of individual families.
Availability and Development of Early Care in Support of Children with Social Disadvantage in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the availability and possibilities of developing early childhood care in support of children with social disadvantages. The theoretical part is focuses on early child development in the context of social disadvantage and early care, aiming to describe and demonstrate the significance of early care, including insights from foreign studies and research. The empirical part is based on qualitative research, semi-structured interviews with seven respondents, who were employees in organizations or facilities involved in the Early Care Platform. The data were analyzed and interpreted primarily based on methodological materials by Švaříček and Šeďová (2007). The analysis was conducted using the open coding method, with data interpretation subsequently employing the card sorting technique. The main goal of the thesis was to explore and evaluate the state of availability of early care services in the Czech Republic and possibilities for its development. Special educational methods at the 2nd elementary school in the subject Czech language

The diploma thesis reviews the educational support provided to students with special needs at the second level of elementary school, particularly focusing on the Czech language subject. It examines the assistance offered by the school, the school counseling center, and Czech language teachers. The thesis is structured into theoretical and practical chapters. Initially, the author explains the concept of students with special educational needs and outlines the system of care and support available to them. Furthermore, the work concentrates on the linguistic and literary challenges faced by these students, with a specific emphasis on learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dysorthography. The thesis also explores strategies aimed at addressing these learning difficulties. The intended outcome of this research is to document the interventions and support mechanisms provided to students within elementary schools, both in the context of Czech language teaching and through specialized pedagogical interventions. The diploma thesis focuses on the methods and forms of support and counselling provided by a school special educator in a mainstream primary school to a pupil with mild mental disability. The aim of the thesis is to map and present the methods that are chosen when working with the chosen pupil and the reasons for their use. The theoretical part defines the concepts of intellectual disability, especially mild intellectual disability, the profession of the school special educational needs teacher and the methods that are generally used in the education of pupils with mild intellectual disability in mainstream primary schools. The empirical part presents the research investigation itself. First, the main objectives, methods and results of the analysis of the investigation are described, and the respondents who participated in the research investigation are also presented. The focus is mainly on what support is being given to students by the school, the school counselling centre and teachers who teach the Czech language. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The author explains the concept of a pupil with specially educational needs, describing the system of care and support for these students. Due to the second field studied by the author, the work focuses on the special needs of students in the subject czech language and literature. Employment of people with disabilities in the capital city of Prague

The thesis is focused on the employment of persons with disabilities. The aim of the work is to determine the employment status of these persons in the territory of the capital city of Prague. The theoretical part deals with general specifics for the employment of persons with disabilities, legislative definition, and further specifics of persons with individual types of disabilities in the field of employment. The research part of the work focuses on the possibilities of employment of persons with disabilities in the territory of Prague from the point of view of organizations working in this sector. A questionnaire with open questions was chosen as the research method. The research showed that people with disabilities are provided with a variety of support to find and maintain employment. In this area, however, certain legislative changes are needed for better employment of persons with disabilities to improve the possibility of employing them in the open labor market, so that they are not excluded from the intact society. Cooperation between the authority for social and legal protection of children and primary schools in the education of socially disadvantaged pupils

The diploma thesis focuses on the collaboration between primary schools and the authority for social and legal protection of children in educating socially disadvantaged pupils. The theoretical part discusses the challenges faced by socially disadvantaged individuals, not only in school and family environments but also in the context of cooperation between elementary schools and social-legal protection authorities, especially in difficult situations. The practical part includes qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews with teachers, representing the schools, and social workers, representing the authority of social-legal protection of children, These interviews were analyzed using open coding for content analysis. The thesis aims to describe the cooperation between child protection bodies and primary schools, not just in addressing challenging situations involving socially disadvantaged pupils, but also to identify the challenges in this cooperation and suggest possible improvements. The collaboration usually occurs through telephone communication and educational committees.
