This diploma thesis called The city of Kutna Hora in year 1968 describes main events of year 1968 is the city of Kutna Hora in the Central Bohemian Region. At the beginning of this thesis, there is described the whole of Czechoslovakia in year 1968. The aim of this work was to concentrate to events of this year in the city of Kutna Hora and make an overview about this city in year 1968. There is the whole situation in Kutna Hora from the beginning of they till invasion of Armed force in August. Kutna Hora was not very strategic place in Czechoslovakia. For this work, the method of oral history was mainly used, big part of this thesis are stories and memories of local people, who remember the year 1968. Hořovice during 1945-1989

This thesis looks into the history of the town Hořovice in the years 1945-1989. The thesis attempts to cover the most important events that took place in the chosen time span in a rather small town located in Central Bohemia but also doesn't forget to mention the everyday life of the local citizens. The thesis selects not only the events crucial from today's perspective (see Expulsion of Germans, The August 1968, …) but also facts which could be for contemporary readers (for today's citizens of Hořovice in particular) very interesting and helpful. Even though some of the facts could be regarded as minor ones, they all equally contribute to the history of the town. The thesis places all the events to the historical context with the help of archive sources, secondary literature as well as printed material and memories from that time.
Ideology in periodicals during 1968 Winter Olympic Games and 1968 Summer Olympic Games

This thesis captures the events of the X Olympic Winter Games 1968 and Games of the XIX Olympiad 1968 in context of historical background of political and social evolution in Czechoslovakia from perspective of their that time's presentation manner in the period printed media. It describes basic ideology principles focusing on socialism and communism, 1968 historical context in Czechoslovakia focusing on Warsaw Pact military invasion of the land in August that year, also start and origins of the Olympic movement. The second part of this thesis deals with both 1968 Olympic Games from perspective of the czechoslovakian attendance and brings main related topics turned up in the period periodicals closer. The analysis itself refers to two journals with big social overlap and sport and political theme - they are Československý sport and Rudé právo. The analysis has tried to pointed out the ideological elements in the media contents of the journals which features the Olympic Games, also the Olympic movement thoughts or local political situation. The analysis has further brought summary of how much the journals reported about the 1968 Olympic Games closer, if so and how this kind of media reflection in case of the 1968 Winter Olympics in France and the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico differs from each other...

The bachelor thesis "Věra Šťovíčková-Heroldová, africká zpravodajka" deals with a life of a reporter Šťovíčková emphasising a decade she spent in Africa. The introductory part outlines a sociohistorical context of the period in which the reporter lived, specifically the time span of 1930 to 2015. The fundamental method of elaborating this text was the research of the oral history, and thus personal interviews made with acquaintances of Šťovíčková. Other valuable sources of findings were reports Šťovíčková made during her stay in Africa and interviews with her. Materials containing these records can be obtained from the archive of Czech (formerly Czechoslovak) Radio broadcasting service. The thematic parts follow on each other and chronologically describe the reporter's life. The main text uncovers the family environment, the early activity in the Czechoslovak Radio and the first travel across the border to Poland. An essential part of this text discusses the 1960s in Africa and the period when states were gaining independence. The significant milestone of her life was 1968. She actively participated in the broadcasting of ČsRo, to which is devoted also a part of this text followed by an explanation for reasons why she left Radio. Bachelor thesis August 1968 in Rakovnicko is contribution to issue of Prague Spring reform in Czechoslovakia and invasion of Warsaw Pact. The work observes changes in policy of Communist Party and in society in district of Rakovník. The main part of thesis is about August invasion in the district with its local differences. Especially complicated process of hops harvest and death of Bulgarian's soldier near Nový Dům.
Reflection of the events of August 1968 in the Czech-Russian relations

The thesis deals with the importance of the events of August 1968 for the Czech-Russian relations. The analysis of the major factors that influenced the Czech-Russian relations since the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state until now is carried out. The result of this analysis enables to incorporate the events of August 1968 into the context of the Czech-Russian relations. The aim is to answer whether the August 1968 represents a major obstacle to the development of good Czech-Russian relations in the future. The conclusion of the author is confronted with the results of the questionnaire filled in by Czech and Russian students of International relations.
Prague Spring and August 1968 in České Budějovice District

This diploma thesis is focused on period of Prague Spring 1968 and it also marginally follows its development in the following years 1969 and 1970. The thesis deals with the district of České Budějovice and studies all the key events of the year 1968 in this district and especially in its capital town. Regional events are researched and compared in the context of the whole Czechoslovakian Republic. Besides the description of the important events, the thesis is also focused on the everyday life of the town?s inhabitants in the time of the Soviet occupation. During the author?s research the records from the State Regional Archives Třeboň (the fund of South Bohemian Regional Committee of Communist Party of Czechoslovakia ? JKV KSČ) and the State District Archives České Budějovice (the fund of Town?s National Committee České Budějovice ? MěNV České Budějovice - and the chronicles) were used. The author of this thesis also worked with the period and contemporary newspapers as well as six eyewitnesses of the described events. The knowledge learned from the archive records is completed with the pieces of information from the literature. Attention in this diploma thesis is paid especially to the politics of JKV KSČ and MěNV České Budějovice in the time of the Prague Spring reforms, organizations such as KAN and K 231, daily newspaper Jihočeská pravda after the abolition of censorship, occupation of České Budějovice and other towns in the district by the Soviet forces, victims of the occupation and the events that occurred in the autumn of 1968, especially the incidents that happened during the Great October Socialist Revolution celebration.
