World of Children as Media Users
Kalivodová, Hana ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
This dissertation consists of two parts - a theoretical and an analytical, empirical part. In the theoretical segment, there is a summary of theoretical knowledge about celebrities and their relationship to society and the public, a comparison between celebrities and real authorities, an overview of mass-communication and its influence on the socialisation of children and a series of advantages and disadvantages of the impact of mass-communication on children. The final stage of the theoretical segment characterises, from the point of view of developmental psychology, the two age groups that will be compared in the second segment. The empirical segment answers such questions as how much do children use media in their leisure time, what types of media are most popular amongst them, which celebrities do the children admire and why are these celebrities important for them in particular. The empirical segment is based on analysis of data taken from questionnaires created purposely for qualitative-quantitative research. These questionnaires were given to students in the 4th and 6th grades of an elementary school in Polepy in the Czech Republic (ages 10/11 and 12/13 respectively). The goal of this dissertation is to show the trending habits of children as mass- media users.
The risk behaviors of high school students
KOPTYŠOVÁ, Monika
The bachelor thesis deals with problem behaviour of young people. Ad they grow up, many teenagers have to face a behavioural disturbance, either as a person affected by such problem or as a witness of social pathologies. The causes and the development of problem behaviour might be different. The research project analysed the relation of problem behaviour of young people and the economic status of their family. It analysed the basic traits of problem behaviour of the respondents (such as experience of respondents with police investigation, the presence of feelings of social inclusion or exclusion, self-esteem and self-satisfaction and others). The research sample consisted of young people aged 13 to 18 (Lata and the Woodcraft League of the Czech Republic organizations), using a questionnaire as a research tool. The bachelor thesis is divided into the theory and the research. The theoretical part describes the issue of factors influencing the occurrence of risk behaviour in the youth. It also defines individual types of problem behaviour. The research revealed that the closest social environment, i.e. parents and educators and peers, is involved in the occurrence of problem behaviour of young people. It also shows that it is vitally important for the young people to learn to take full responsibility for their behaviour. They have to learn to decide about the way of their life with better future prospects and better awareness of possible problems

The theoretical part introduces the subject in terms of developmental and social psychology and gender studies. In the first half of theoretical part I follow up the social aspects of the classmate's role and conceive it within the class and peer group. Certain space is also devoted to establishing the relationships between girls and boys. The second half of theoretical section reflects adolescence as a specific developmental period, in which I focus on occurring biological, mental and social changes. Whole theory is penetrated by gender perspective focussing on comparison of girl or boy adolescence. Introducing the process of gender roles creation and the significance of femininity and masculinity completes the theoretical part. The empirical part includes research of role concept within the 9th class of primary school. Presenting average images of pupils about the ideal classmate (girl and boy) I highlight the gender aspects of mentioned role. While interpreting the analysis outcomes and considering itself gender membership of responding pupils I point out the role differences as well. The goal is to show whether...
