Žaludek, Adam ; Marx, David (advisor) ; Cetlová, Lada (referee) ; Pastucha, Dalibor (referee)
The theme of the dissertation thesis is "Standardization of early identification of risks of self-harm as a risk reduction tool in psychiatric inpatients". For the purposes of the thesis, the risk of self-harm means the risk of self-harm with the aim of suicide. The aim of the dissertation thesis is to propose a standardized process for identifying and managing the risk of self-harm in hospitalized patients at psychiatric inpatient facilities, which is presented in the form of a methodological instruction. The work is in the theoretical part focused on the process of standardization in the context of risk and quality management in healthcare, the epidemiology of suicides in the general population and in hospitalized patients in psychiatric institutions, the root causes of completed suicides during hospitalization, the possibilities of risk assessment, factors of a safe environment and the current approach to risk assessment in context of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is supplemented by author's five scientific publications, which are focused on the current state of self-harm risk assessment and risk management tools in the Czech Republic, practical options for securing the environment and evaluating the level of risks in it, possibilities for early detection of self-harm risks in...
Awareness of Suicides among the Elderly
Mildnerová, Klára ; Taušová, Jitka (advisor) ; Kubín, Daniel (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of suicides among elderly, which is often overlooked and insufficiently explored. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of suicidality in connection with aging and analyzes various aspects of this issue. From a historical perspective, the perception of suicide in antiquity and the Middle Age is examined, as well as the work of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk Sebevražda hromadným jevem společenským moderní osvěty. Furthermore, the causes of suicide are analyzed, and within the prevention of suicides among elderly, the influence of media and family environment is considered, as well as the importance of crisis hotlines. The practical part of the study includes qualitative research in the form of interviews, which reflects the view of different age groups on the issue of suicides among the elderly. The research also involves the participation of a social worker, who brings an expert perspective on this issue. The aim of the thesis is to identify the causes of suicides among the elderly and propose effective preventive measures. Another implicit goal is to raise awareness of this problem, as increasing societal awareness can help reduce the number of suicides among the elderly. The result of this work include insights into suicides among the elderly,...

Implementation Barriers and Facilitators in Suicide Prevention Interventions: Implementation Analysis Optics
Kasal, Alexandr ; Nekola, Martin (advisor) ; Dragomirecká, Eva (referee) ; Čermáková, Pavla (referee)
Introduction: This dissertation addresses the issue of implementation barriers and facilitators of suicide prevention measures in the context of the field of public and social policy. Implementation barriers and facilitators can be identified across the whole implementation process. This paper seeks to identify them in published scientific studies and contextualize them for the Czech environment through expert group interview. The thesis uses two theoretical frameworks, the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) and the Conceptual Framework for Implementation Analysis (CFIA). The thesis simultaneously questions the suitability of these frameworks to achieve the aforementioned objectives and the possibility of synthesising these frameworks. Methods: Systematic literature review and group expert interview were conducted. The thesis applies the frameworks mentioned above to structure the results, with the CFIA serving as a supporting framework to categorize the results of the group expert interview that could not be assigned to the CFIR framework. Results: 63 relevant studies containing 239 implementation barriers and 405 implementation facilitators were identified through a systematic review. These were unevenly distributed across CFIR domains and constructs. In total, thirteen...
Economic factors influencing suicide rate
Shoup, Šárka ; Šubrt, Jiří (advisor) ; Vávra, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis is devoted to the study of suicide in the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). This thesis emphasizes the boom stage of the second half of the 1920s and the economic crisis of the first half of the 1930s and the financial crisis after 2008 and the economic boom after 2015. These two stages are important due to classical crises and booms that occurred in the market economy era. The methodology of the diploma thesis is based on selected theoretical concepts that deal with the influence factors have on suicide rates. Their subsequent application to the stages of the mentioned booms and crises in the selected periods shows their relevance for explaining this researched phenomenon in the given country. This work aims to evaluate the current state of research and find the most suitable methods and indicators that will be subjected to empirical testing using the analysis of selected stages in the author's thesis. The theoretical part presents how the topic developed during the 19th and 20th centuries. The analytical part proves the validity of the theoretical concepts; which examine the extent to which there is a connection between the suicide rate and chosen factors in the observed periods. The author thus uses empirical evidence in the diploma thesis to verify the validity of...
