Title: Comparison of the effectiveness of manual therapy and therapy using exercises in muscle postural ligations for painful neck syndromes. Objective: The main aim of this work is to compare commonly used physiotherapeutic techniques, exercise and mobilization, (manipulation) techniques in chronic, painful neck syndromes. Methods: The study involved a total of 30 probands with chronic neck pain, randomly divided into three groups of 10. In the first group the subject was health exercise, in the second group therapy with mobilization (manipulations) techniques and in the third group was a combination of both therapies. Probands were individually treated in five visits, 30 minutes for one visit. The evaluation methods were NRS, NDI and goniometry. The data was evaluated in Microsoft Office Excel. Results: The results showed that after 5 therapies there was a statistically significant reduction in pain on the NRS scale in all three groups. Within the NDI questionnaire there was a very small reduction in the ADL limitation, for all three groups, the changes were statistically significant. There were no changes in goniometry in any of the groups and changes were not statistically significant. Keywords: chronic neck pain, cervical spine, exercise, mobilization, NDI

Cardiac ischemic tolerance in rats subjected to adaptation to chronic hypoxia and physical exercise: the role of TNF-alpha.
Svatoňová, Anna ; Neckář, Jan (advisor) ; Maxová, Hana (referee) ; Szárszoi, Ondrej (referee)
Cardiovascular diseases represent the most important health risk factors because they are responsible for more than 50% of total mortality. Among them, the ischemic heart disease is leading cause of mortality. From the whole spectrum of different cardioprotective phenomena we have selected: 1) adaptation to chronic normobaric hypoxia (CNH) as the traditional experimental model in our laboratory area and 2) protective effect of exercise which in recent years represents promising and clinically relevant protective mechanism. The whole thesis is based on two studies. Aim of the first study was to characterize the expression of the main pro-inflammatory cytokine, TNF-α, in hearts of rats adapted to CNH. Chronic TNF-α inhibition by infliximab was used for discovering of certain role of TNF-α in CNH. We showed that increased myocardial level of TNF-α during adaptation to CNH was contributed via its receptor TNFR2 and nuclear factor κB-dependent activation of protective redox signalling with increased antioxidant defence. This adaptive pathway participates on the infarct size-limiting effect of CNH. Aim of the second study was find out whether exercise training and CNH could play synergy in cardiac protection in rats model. We reported that CNH and exercise reduced infarct size but their combination...

Part of the work includes a comparison with other countries, especially Slovak Republic, having this kind of punishment for a shorter time. The second half of the thesis deals with partially unfulfilled potential regarding sentence of community service, its and ability to empty the prisons and become a universal punishment used in case of most minor offenses. This thesis also included enumeration of the conditions that must be fulfilled to ensure that this...

Chládková, Karolína ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title Impact of compensation exercises on forward shoulder posture in sport climbers Aims The aim is to decide whether in climbers regulary performing compensation excercises occurs lower rate of forward shoulder posture than in non-excercising climbers. Methods The diploma thesis is a pilot study of quantitative nature with participation of 48 probands. The probands were sports climbers, men and women aged 18-35 with no shoulder pain or disorder. The minimal requiered climbing level was determined to VII UIAA. The data were gained by caliper measure of two anatomical points; cranial part of sternum and anterior part of acromion, both in natural posture and upright posture. All measurements were one-off with the aim to gather the data that were consequently processed and statistically analyzed. Results The results confirmed that compensation exercises have impact on forward shoulder posture. The results did not confirm the same values of protraction on both shoulders. Key words forward shoulder posture, exercise, sports climbers, caliper, physiotherapy, shoulder
