Activating methods and forms in teaching of natural science

The theme and scope of submitted thesis is "Activating methods and forms in teaching of natural sciences" then followed with regard to the author's certification in chemistry and biology. The thesis is solved in conformity with requirements of the Framework Educational Programme, especially the change of the teaching style in schools. The thesis is written down with respect of a natural continuation of previous work of the author - diploma thesis dealt with project teaching and rigorous thesis was focused on cooperative activities. With regard to the objectives of submitted work the design of the research project is divided into two component parts: a questionnaire survey and a video study.
RWCT program at primary school

This thesis focuses on the issue of using the RWCT programme as well as components of Drama in Education in Czech language and literature classes in primary schools, especially when working with artistic texts. The theoretical part depicts the new concept of education, key competencies, goals in primary education and the importance of reading literacy. It presents information about the programmes of Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) and Drama in Education along with their goals, contents and methods and working with artistic texts. It also defines their identical and different components. The practical part examines how to work with one text in different ways and observes how individual goals in school classes change when using different methods of RWCT and Drama in Education. It provides specific suggestions for school classes when working with texts, their processing and evaluating with regard to the methods and education goals used. Dance and movement education as a new field in the Framework education programme for primary education

The bachelor thesis Dance and Movement Education as a New Field in the Framework Education Programme for Primary Education attends to characterization of dance and movement education as a field. It considers its embodiment in primary education's curriculum, defines its educational goals and field content and adverts to its contribution for education of primary schools' students. In the first part the Framework Education Programme and its development are introduced. The second part considers the dance and movement education outside the context of Framework Education Programme for Primary Education, provides information of basic principles and activities. The third and fundamental part consists of dance and movement education within the purview of Framework Education Programme for Primary Education. The goals and competences developed by dance and movement education are defined in more detail. Mutual goal and content interconnectiveness to other educational fields is emphasized. The thesis comes to a conclusion that dance and movement education as a new field of primary education can provide a suitable room for versatile development of students' personalities and hence help to fulfill the main goals of primary education.
Competences and their development in the new scout educational program

The thesis deals with the development of key competences through Scout training. It focuses on the transformation of educational program in the Junák - Association of Scouts and Guides of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first part describes the history, the mission and ideals of Scouting. It deals with the development of Scouting in Czechoslovakia (or the Czech Republic) after 1990 and also explains how Junák is perceived by the public. It was found out by studies that were done in 2003. This thesis compares the historical and current educative documents that are used to support the development of children and young people's personalities. The thesis describes the initial impulses that led to the program's modification. Also the system of competences, which is essential for the new program, is developed in the thesis. The practical part contains instructions and suggestions for effective development of skills and deals with the further education for scout leaders. The work is accompanied by attachments that contain examples of previous and modern materials and a table summarizing the development of competences.

Summary of Ph.D.Thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry At the end of my thesis about the importace of chemical experiments in chemical education and especially about the importace of analytic chemistry in secondary grammar schools I'd like to summarize the most important ideas from particular chapters. I think that the objects I have determined at the beginnig, have been filled and my work will help to perceive analytic chemistry as an integral part of chemistry education in secondary grammar schools. I have emphasized importace of chemical experiment and its use in analytical chemistry education. I have pointed a possibility of working relation among school subjects and a possibility of putting several cross-sectional topics into analytic chemistry education. Other object was to check students' knowledge. Indicators of LSD: Proposal for a Model and Set of Literacy Indicators for Adult Public Sustainable Development in the Czech Republic

At present, a trend is emerging that shows the increasing application of Education for Sustainable Development in the Czech Republic. This type of education is arriving in various strategic documents and is featuring in pedagogic and andragogical practices. There is a range of indicators, mainly originating from abroad, for the assessment of this type of education and the task ahead for the Czech Republic is to adjust these indicators for the Czech environment, or create its own ones. This thesis deals with result indicators, that is to say indicators of the impact of Education for Sustainable Development on the literacy of the adult public on the local, microregional and regional levels. The thesis analyses selected national and international strategic documents as well as Czech and foreign specialised literature from the perspective of environmental education, bringing-up and further education concepts and Education for Sustainable Development. It then analyses these concepts from the perspective of educational qualities that Literacy for Sustainable Development consists of. Education to economy and financial literacy through family and school

This thesis deals with the education of children to economic and financial literacy at school and in family. Financial and economic literacy is one of the most important topics of the present days. The theoretical part of this thesis demonstrates different views on this issue. Education to financial literacy is a question of expertise just as a matter of attitude, character and human values. This thesis deals with the legal basis and analyses the Framework educational program for primary education to financial and economic literacy in detail. It presents a particular suggestion of a lesson structure for students of a primary school. The following part focuses on the possibilities of education in the family which places an irreplaceable role in the procedure of education to economic and financial literacy. The empirical part of this thesis presents the results of two separate researches. The first dealt with the issue of how current teachers explain and train financial literacy in primary schools. The second research focuses on young adults aged 18-26 years and their knowledge of basic economic terms, in the background of a subjective assessment of their family and school.
Folk Traditions and The Key Competences Development

This work deals with integrating folk traditions into the offer of education of a kindergarten in accordance with the General Educational Program for Preschool Education and their contribution to the development of key competencies. The theoretical part defines the meaning of key skills, specifies the key skills in the preschool education and conducts an assessment of these competencies. Potential of folk traditions for the development of key competencies is established. In frame of the next section the most important holidays and traditions, their importance, history as well as the ways of celebration are characterized. The practical part is devoted to the creation of specific thematic units. These units are continuously evaluated and a research documenting the benefits of folk traditions to the development of key competencies is performed. This program is implemented and its actual benefits in practice are evaluated in terms of the contribution of selected activities to the development of key competencies.
World of Plants - development of scientific literacy in preschool education

The bachelor´s thesis contains the proposals of activities for learning of natural science literacy with focusing on cognition of plants. The proposals of activities are compiled through a literature review so that they are suitable for the age homogeneous classes in kindergarten and they provide appropriate incentives for acquiring key competences with regard to skills, capabilities and personal needs of individuals. The goal of the bachelor´s thesis is using and verification of continuous, object and experiential learning in the nature. The pieces of knowledge obtained by observing the plants in nature intensify and extend by interesting methods of activities such as a creative elaboration or a dramatic interpretation of the subject in a classroom. The particular topic of teaching are complied and documented by worksheets or suggestions of creative activities, which are given in Annex.

The practical part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of elementary schools, analysis of cross-cutting themes and creating a design teaching project.
