Quality Management in Projects

The main objective is to organize and enrich the theory of Project Quality Management, which was achieved by several sub-objectives. There was performed a research on Project Quality Management in practice not only in Czech Republic, but also in the world. This research found the most common standard/methodology for Project Quality Management and subsequently was applied in practice. This thesis also includes selection of the most appropriate techniques and tools for Quality Management. Theoretical section explains basic terms related to the topic of thesis, described the most important standards and Project Quality Management methodologies, determined hypotheses and way of questionnaire survey carried out a research related to thesis topic. Given the results of the survey is the practical section devoted to application of PMBOK methodology into practical Project Quality Management. Follows an overview of the most appropriate techniques and tools suitable for Project Quality Management also based on results of research.
IRIS – International Railway Industry Standard

This Master's Thesis is engaged in business management system requirements of International Railway Industry Standard. The goal is to provide reader with an overview of the requirements of Standard, their introduction into the existing business management system, outline some of the issues associated to the implementation and evaluate the benefits of implementation by analyzing presumed costs associated to the certification of system and expected revenues arising from the successful certification. In conclusion it will assess the results of the evaluation of benefits and other factors leading to a final decision whethere it is a better option for the company to undergo the certification process or negatives will exceed and therefore the company will do better by making its effort in another direction.
Intuitive profit management on the example of violin making in the 17th century

This paper focuses on the analysis of the violin production in Italy in the 17th century from the final product, revenue and costs point of view. It also tries to connect the logical basis of modern theories on profit management to the methods intuitively applied by the violin makers of that time. The first chapter is concerned with the general features of craft production, its impact on the product, expansion of the violin making industry, examined violin makers and their position on the violin market. Second chapter puts emphasis on the revenue side of profit management. It describes the methods by which the price of the product was managed, talks about the profitable customer theory and applies the new competitive advantage theory on the methods of old violin makers. The last chapter analyzes costs resulting from violin production of that time, their characteristics and tries to link modern methods of cost management to the rational decisions within the scope of the intuitive cost management demands of the violin maker in the 17th century.

Just in Time and its influence on the management accounting

The thesis describes Just in Time method and other important issues related to strategic management accounting. The goal is to set a general process of cost saving by using the method. To mention especially process management, activity based costing, activity based management and quality management. The Just in Time method is described individually in relation with supplying and producing. The empirical part of the thesis is divided to two subsections. The first one contains questions about propriety of Just in Time implementation in the producing company. The second part attempts to set a general process of cost saving by using the Just in Time method.
Quality management in systems integration projects in public sector

Quality management is a general subject based on the principles of achieving customer satisfaction in a maximum possible way when providing services or delivering a product. The field of quality management is regulated by legislation and standards perceived as a common best practice. In this thesis a reader can find a basic list of those normative acts and standards, applied to the principles of project management, specifically in projects focused on integration of information systems in public sector. The introduced principles of quality management are complemented by author's comments based on his personal experience in participation in such projects and include an evaluation of their advantages and disadvantages and applicability in use. In a next part of this thesis the author introduces common issues related to project management in public sector and suggests solutions to these problems by applying the principles of quality management in projects.

Řízení kvality podle Modelu Excelence - EFQM

Model Excelence je moderní způsob řízení kvality. Model se skládá z devíti kritérií a dalších třicetidvou subkritérií. Práce se zabývá pouze dvěma kritérii, a to vedením a pracovníky. Cílem práce je zhodnocení řízení kvality podle Modelu Excelence v těchto dvou kritérií a následné návrhy na zlepšení stávající situace v dané společnosti.
