The dissolution of the workers'party perceived through the čt 24 channel

This thesis analyses how the Czech Television informed about the second trial with the extremist Czech Workers' Party (Dělnická strana), which ended up dissolving the party. The first part of the thesis deals with far-right extremism studies and the history of Czech far- right-wing extremism from the first Czechoslovak republic up to present day. It also deals with the history of the Workers' Party and its successor, the Workers' Party of Social Justice. The following chapter of the thesis is introduces the evidence that the Czech government mentioned in its charges against the WP. The second part of the thesis analyses how the reporters of the Czech Television informed about the Workers' Party, its members and supporters. The thesis analyses the language of reports, the work of cameramen, and how important this topic was for the Czech Television.

The Pheonomenon of Contemporary Antifascism in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis deals with contemporary antifascism in the Czech republic and put it in whole historical context. It moves from general and historical determination of notions to concrete description of contemporary situation in the Czech republic. The final outcome is a description of contemporary czech antifascism, which is accentuated on Antifascist action, which became monopolistic on czech radical antifascist scene. In regard of a lack of higher volume of literature oriented on this topic, thesis uses also web sources and interview with members of Antifascist action, which is on enclosed CD-ROM phoneticly and qualitatively modified in the interest of interviewed. Thesis should serve as a supplement for a general analysis of so-called "political extremism" and as a "regulator" of wrong information mentioned by massmedia.

The Elements Influencing the Degree of the Right-Wing Extremism in the Czech Republic after 1989

Diploma thesis "The Elements Influencing the Degree of the Right-Wing Extremism in the Czech Republic after 1989" deals both with the general right-wing extremism, with its historical development and his particular ideologies, and concretely with the situation in the Czech Republic after the Velvet Revolution and with his reasons, as well, and with it related solutions, how the right-wing extremism utmost to eliminate. It is interesting and edifying to get knowledge of, how in the period of modernizing, also especially in the nineteenth century, the western society commuted itself and what impacts this epoch had upon the human thinking and self-awaking. What trains of thought this emancipation ended in and what influence this all had upon the world history. Starting with the nationalism, that had been the cause of the fascism and consequently of the Nazism, and ending with the neofascism and neo-Nazism. After the year 1989 all these phenomenons had naturally marked impact upon the formation of the modern Czech extreme right, as well. Of course, the mentioned phenomenons are not coming just by themselves. They are always, more or less, conditioned on something. Squatting as a political problem

Bachelor thesis "Squating as a political problem" deals with the phenomenon of Czech squatting after 1989. Due to lack of relevant literature it focuses at first on accurate definition of squating and shows some possibilities of its political determination. It farther describe the collision of squating ideas with present concept of democracy and Czech law and emphasizes the discrepancy betwen ilegality and legitimity. Important parts of this thesis are interviews with former squaters and representants of anarchist movement.

Skinheads - political activists?

The theme of the thesis entitled "Skinheads - political activists" is a description and follow-depth analysis of apolitical segment of the Czech skinhead subculture in the terms of their political orientations. Introduction to the theme consists of the subculture theories which were created in past. The following methodological part summarizes research progress of the selection of respondents by snowball sampling, the scenario of in-depth interviews and the analysis of alternative media. After this part there is a brief introduction to the history of skinhead subculture. Empirical findings than summarize political influences on subculture and its values and political orientations. The aim of this work is to reveal the link between extremism and subculture of skinheads in the Czech environment. The results of the analysis revealed that the apolitical segment of Czech skinhead subculture is not inherently extremist movement, although in some particular values intertwined with racist and xenophobic ideologies. THE EXTREMIST ORGANISATION'S POTENTIAL IN ADDRESSING TEENAGERS IN CZECH REPUBLIC Theses MIROSLAVA PAPAJIKOVÁ Abstract This paper is engaged in teenagers and their attitude towards the extremist organisation. The author sums up basic connotations of terms used in connection with the extremism. She acquaints readers with the best known extremist organisation in Czech republic and their methods how to address other people, namely teenagers. However, the text is focused especially on the real situation and that s why it contains an empirical part dedicated to research, where she submits and evaluates the dates obtained from questionnaires. The aim of this text is an analyse of the attitude of teenagers (without the right to vote) to the extremist organisation and vice versa the attitude of this organisation to the teenagers. The hypothesis is based on the notion that teenagers join the extremist organisation because of their dissatisfaction with the political situation and even as the absence of the right to vote.

Agenda-setting of the politics of fight against extremism

The aim of the thesis was to find the process of agenda-setting the politics of fight against extremism in the year 2009. The whole problems are researched on the basis of the Multiple Stream Theory by American scientist J. W. Kingdon and its particular modification by Nikolaos Zahariadis. This theory is based on the existence of three streams with independent development. That is problem stream, politics stream and policy stream. Under specific circumstances the three streams clash and in this case a policy window is going to be opened. Opening of the policy window is a sign for policy entrepreneurs who can influence the agenda-setting of new politics. Agenda setting takes place in the Windows called Coupling. In the context of agenda setting of the politics of fight against extremism the Problem Window is the most important. This window is created by various right wing extremist groups and its activity. The Politics Stream is created by the ideology of political parties and National Mood. The ideology of relevant political parties doesn't play any significant roles. Analysis of the impact of the conversion of printed newspapers to online versions of information on extremist groups

The 2015 Refugee crisis and politics of the Czech Republic

The theses deals with the most current problem of refugees stemming from the Syrian crisis, and the consequences the migration crisis can have for stability and the overall political situation in the chosen region. Due to the fact that the Syrian crisis is felt not only in the region, the aim of this thesis is to look at the impact of subsequent migrant crisis on the EU with focus on the Czech Republic. Despite various attempts by the international community, including the EU and the Czech Republic itself, to stabilise the situation the migration crisis is not, within a short and midterm time frame, closing to an end, and it is necessary to focus on possible negative consequences it may bring. The aim of this thesis is to uncover possible political repercussions. Even though, the Czech Republic is in reality afflicted by the migration wave on a minimal scale, the main hypothesis of this thesis is that the current migration wave has an influence on its political scene. The thesis is focusing especially on extremism in the Czech public and consequently in the political scene.

Youth, the phenomenon of extremism and its impact on a classroom atmosphere.

This thesis deals with the issue of extremist manifestations of youth and the impact of these occurrences on the societal climate in the class. The first part of this thesis defines the terms and analyzes the current situation of the problem. It displays the intolerant attributes typical to extremist attitudes, the main current extremist streams and ways of disseminating extremist ideas. The aim of the second part is a case study conducted on the sample of a class. At first there is a selection of a sample class and a choice of the methodology of the study. Subsequently the thesis explains the obtained results. These results are then analyzed, interpreted and compared with expectations.
