The Reprezentation of Selected Socialist and Communist Countries in the Czech Press in 2010

Theme of this diploma work are news related to selected socialist and communist countries in the Czech press. Characteristic works are the specifics of media countries with the socialist (or communist) government in the Czech press. Theoretical work is beyond theory Frankfurt and Birmingham schools. The basis of the analysis work will stereotypes concerning the socialist and communist countries, the Czech news media contents. The findings will then be the basis for in-depth interviews with the news media workers and the staff representative bodies of the countries. The goal is to reveal the motives and the construction of stereotypes at the production of media content.
THE USAGE OF SPORT NEWS SERVICE OF CZECH NEWS AGENCY FROM THE OLYMPIC GAMES IN VANCOUVER 2010 IN NEWSPAPER SPORT

The bachelor thesis "The usage of sport news service of Czech News Agency from the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010 in the newspaper Sport" deals with a media coverage of extraordinary important sport event aiming to find out the extend of today's dependence of print newspapers on the service of the press agency. The research is based on the example of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, one of the most important sport events of 2010, and it surveys the production of sport section of Czech News Agency and the only Czech newspaper focused on sport. The thesis is focused on comparison of the Olympics' news service in the agency and in the newspaper and it covers the period beginning one week before the start of the Olympics and ending one week after the end of the Olympics. It traces the amount of agency's news used by Sport and it finds out whether the newspaper regularly adopted specific kind of news. The thesis also explores whether the journalists in Sport somehow worked more on the agency news or left them in their original form. In the times of on-line media expansion when the on-line news servers use the service from agencies very frequently, the newspaper should not just copy the news from the Czech News Agency. Reflection in period newspapers of Czech directors of the sixties in the time of their return after the enforced work break

The thesis finds out the manner and the range of reviewing comeback of directors and their new films after enforced work break during the Czechoslovak normalization. For the purpose of the research were chosen articles published in 4 daily newspapers, concerning Rudé právo, Mladá fronta, Lidová demokracie a Zemědělské noviny, and 3 special film periodicals Záběr, Kino and Film a doba. These periodicals were examined in period from 1974 to 1979, in the period of comeback of all chosen directors, starting with Věra Chytilová, Jiří Menzel, Hynek Bočan and ending with Juraj Jakubisko and František Vláčil. These daily newspapers occasionally publish the critics, by contrast the film periodicals review Czech and Slovak films very often wit reportages, critics, interview or short reporting. The evaluation of directors and their films depended on several aspects: first of all on the behavior of directors and attitude to socialistic state and politics, on the author of literature artwork (in case of novels for example), on characteristic of socialistic society presented by films and also on the author of certain critic. This thesis deals with photographs in the printed media among the elections to the lower chamber of the Czech Parliament during 2Q 2006 and 2Q 2010. The main focus is picture of the politicians and the political parties. In the theoretical part of the thesis we sum up the main aspects of the media ahead of the elections and the publishing of photographs. We observe news factors, agenda setting, framing, spiral of silence, technical aspects of photography or manipulation possibilities. The practical part brings the analysis of the photographs in the home news pages of the in the four most-read broadsheet daily newspapers and another daily newspaper that is published by a political party. The analysis sample comprises all issues of the dailies in the period of five weeks ahead of the elections in the years 2006 and 2010. The data were analyzed by means of the quantitative content analysis. For this analysis we used up to 20 parameters. The quantified data were then analyzed by the SPSS and PASW statistical software. Multilevel analysis was also applied. Results of libel in press in the relation to the relevant moral rights especially in the area of private law in the Czech Republic

This graduation thesis, entitled "Results of libel in press in the relation to the relevant moral rights especially in the area of private law in the Czech Republic" examines press interference into relevant moral rights. The first chapter describes the historical foundations of personal rights protection, as well as their international and European connections. The second chapter discusses the power of media, and the means used for its maintenance and strengthening. In the third chapter, an outline of motivations for publication of news press, which balance between righteousness and libel. In the fourth chapter, an assessment of the clash between freedom of speech and protection of privacy, which are categories guaranteed in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The content of the fifth chapter is fundamental because it provides a thorough analysis of the law which governs personal rights, with a focus on the civil code, press law and procedural rules. The sixth chapter brings sight of rules established by autoregulation. It deals with self- censorship, the journalist's code of ethics, self-controlling authorities and so on. Political marketing in the pre-election period

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze strategies of political marketing of the Czech Social Democratic Party and the political movement ANO 2011 in the Czech regional elections 2016. Furthermore, the work aims to analyze their media image in selected economic and political weeklies (Euro, Respect and Week). This thesis will attempt to answer the following questions through content analysis and qualitative interviews: What were the main differences in political strategies of those political parties? Were there some variations in interpretation of their media images in the selected magazines? The thesis is structured into four chapters. The first chapter defines the main terminology of political marketing. The second one is devoted to media-politics relations and to the Czech media. The third analytical part characterizes marketing strategies of the political parties. The last chapter interprets the results of content analysis.
The electronic versus print media in leisure time of youth.

My diploma thesis deals with the relation of youth to various kinds of media in their free time. First it describes media, their function, possible impact on personality, media literacy. It deals with division of media, more concerned with the mass media, electronic and print. It also characterizes free time and the period of youth aged 15 30 years. The study of literature led to questions for quantitative research, young people and library staff were interviewed. Selected youth use electronic media more in their free time, but often they are not satisfied with it, they would prefer to read more books.
Analysis of Print Media and its Future Outlook

The thesis is focused on analyzing the development of print media based on the example of selected fashion magazines. It is also focused on the international strategies that can be used by these magazines. The author examines the theoretical background of print media and international marketing strategies, followed by application of this knowledge on the analysis of the chosen magazines. The thesis consists of two main parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part includes a description of print media history, the background of magazines, and international marketing communications, particularly with regard to magazines. The empirical part is focused on analysis of the selected magazines and their international strategies. This part concentrates on the printed and online versions of magazines, so it is easier to see how magazines are influenced by new technologies.
Management of changes in a business company

The thesis focuses on analysis of the distribution market situation of printed media and determines needs of changes in a medium-sized business company. These needs are later developed into a general proposal in accordance with Kotter's model. Theoretical part is aimed at change management and crisis in relation to changes. Practical part is aimed at description of nowadays situation at distribution market of printed media and suggestion of general projects of changes.
Influence of printed media and internet on freetime activities of older pupils

Bachelor work is trying to find out how much pupils (age 10 ? 15) use Internet and printed media in their free time. In theoretical part there is given the whole information about media, in details printed media and Internet. There are described positive and negative effects on socialisation and forming pupil personalities in free time activities. There are analysed some problematic messages in theoretical parts, e. g. medial violence and influence of advertisements. In context with negative aspects importance of medial education in schools and families is described. In empiric part I used quantitive research strategy, questioning method and questionnaire for collecting primary dates. The research is mostly dealing with pupil (age 10 ? 15) interaction with media and with time which is spent on these media, it compares proportions of work on Internet and on printed media and it is finding out connected preferences between these two medias in connection with sex, age nad place of living.
