Nerušilová, Hana ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
Long-Term Care for the Elderly in the Czech Republic and European countries in the context of demographic ageing Abstract Long-term care refers to the range of services required by persons suffering from a reduced degree of functional capacity and who are dependent on help with activities of daily living. These services include personal care as well as medical and social services. LTC could be provided either in institutional settings or at home - by informal (upaid) or formal providers. European Union has declared that LTC represents one of the main challenges connected with the current demographic changes. The main aim of this thesis is to provide a picture of LTC providing across European countries. Special attention was placed on ensuring care for the elderly in Czechia, where ambiguities about responsibilities (which are divided between The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and and The Ministry of Health), financing or even defining the content of this care have recently become quite frequent subjects of public debates. Keywords: demographic ageing, long-term care, health and social services, home care, Czechia, international comparison

Neubauerová, Eva ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Remr, Jiří (referee)
This thesis Power imbalance in caring families dealing with the issue of power in the care situation, where a cherished person is mother and caring is her own daughter. The theoretical part conceptualizes terms, such as the power, the power imbalance or ambivalence. In the practical part own qualitative research of caretakers (mothers of caring daughters) is presented. It was found that ambivalence maternal care situation leads to ambivalence in daughters. The key variables in the model of power imbalances is the mother's acceptance of the need for care and a composition of household. The answers of the respondents indicate that if the household is in addition to the mother and daughters yet another member (for respondents, it was always about her husband), there is much more conflicts, which tend to have very intensive course. Relationships in these families are not described as harmonious and daughters speak to disrupt family cohesion due care. The survey also shows that an imbalance of power could be the right latent variable that was missing in the empirical studies, because it was measured in particular through the manifest variables. Keywords ambivalence, authority, autonomy, coding, the power, the power imbalance, cherished mother, home care, caring daughter

Volejníčková, Romana ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Kiczková, Zuzana (referee)
This thesis is concerned with twenty-four hours for elderly family members from the perspective of the primary caregiver. The aim of this work is the understanding of home care, not as an isolated activity usually practiced by women in the private sphere, but as an aktivity, which is affected family relationships or deciding provide/not provide home care etc. For this reason I used as the theoretical basis of this work feminist ethics of care, which does not care define "natural" / spontaneous female activity, and enable to reveal the gender line of care. That is the main topic of this thesis. For a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of home care I used biographical interview. It's main characteristic is the emphasis on stories from participants, which was an important aspect that helped me put the care in a broader social context Key words: home care, feminist ethic of care, biographical interviews.

Diploma Thesis "Assistance of dignified life for the elderly - Social services in field" is focused on the field of social services for the elderly, which's main function is to enable seniors to remain as long as possible at home, despite difficulties with self-sufficiency and independence, leading to a better quality of life. Due to the aging of population and new trends in the way of care for the elderly, it was necessary to fundamentally change the way of this kind of care in the Czech Republic- the current requirements are quality of life, individual approach and subsidiarity.
