Pupil's portfolio

The thesis entitled Pupil's Portfolio is divided into a theoretical and research sections. The theoretical section describes the pupil's portfolio in a wider context and deals with the analysis and concept of portfolio at primary school. It focuses on the importance of the portfolio for both pupils and teachers. It presents the goals of portfolio. It provides various advantages and disadvantages of the pupil's portfolio. It proposes phases of how to work with the pupil's portfolio. In the theoretical section, the link between the portfolio and the teacher - student - parent is also stated. In the context of the pupil's portfolio, the work is devoted to assessment and learning. Furthermore, the work identifies the pupil's portfolio as a tool of self-assessment and shows how to guide pupils to self-assessment. The thesis examines the possibilities and limits of different types and concepts of pupil's portfolio at primary school. The research section describes and analyzes a specific concept of a representative portfolio in the 5th year of primary school by a teacher V. The conclusion of the research section assesses the viability of the pupil's portfolio and the main benefits of working with it in learning and evaluating pupils at the end of the primary school. TITLE: Use of children extra-curricular experience during schoole ducation AUTHOR: Ilona Kaletová DEPARTMENT: Department of the primary pedagogy SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Anna Tomková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis deals with the possible use of out-of-school experiences of children in school education. In its first part, I will compare formal and informal education. I will look for similarity and difference and, above all, the contribution of non- formal education to formal education. Specifically, I will focus on the non-profit organization The Woodcraft League. At the end of this part, I will compare the formal education and lifelong education of the examined children's organization. The practical part is specifically focused on the village school and the children's tribe that I lead. Using the observation method and interviews with teachers and pupils visiting the examined club, I will look for the benefit of the children's tribe for pupils in the village elementary school. Apart from that, I organize thematic units at school that expect the possibility of using out-of.school experiences of children in school education. Home education for primary school in Czech Republic

This Master's thesis deals with homeschooling in primary school students in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides information of homeschooling as an alternative to fulfilling compulsory school attendance. This thesis is answering questions about the history of homeschooling in the Czech Republic, its development in our country, the way home education works, what are the reasons for choosing home education, what are its positives, negatives and risk factors. And in the end the thesis is also concentrating on homeschooling in secondary school or information how home education works in the world. The research section deals with two areas. The first area is devoted to quantitative research - a survey among students of teaching. The second area is high-quality research - this area deals with case studies. The aim of the research part of the diploma thesis is to find out the opinion, experience and awareness of the given topic from the study among the students of the who are training to be teachers. Experimental education in first Czechoslovak Republic. At the example of schools in Michle, Nusle, Hostivař

The topic of my thesis is experimental schools in Prague Michle, Nusle and Hostivař. It tries to shed light on the circumstances of the birth and end of these schools and to determine their characteristic features. Emphasis is put on the social aspect of experimentation and its close relation to the environment of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Inspiration by modern pedagogical theories is taken into account. The thesis traces the lives of several teachers. As sources were used not only archives but also a series of interviews with graduates of these schools. It aims, on the basis of a comparison of written and oral sources, to give a complex image of experimental education in Czechoslovakia at the time of the First Republic and the Protectorate. Last but not least it tries to answer the question whether experimental schools can contribute to today's education.

Back to the future. Etnographic research of Local Exchange Trading System in Toulouse

The present diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of Local Exchange Trading Systems (LETS). Using the method of ethnographic research, the author sought a holistic description during her six-month participation in a LETS group in Toulouse. Drawing upon theoretical literature, she discusses the local forms of exchange, debt, the relationship to money and to the virtual currency. The findings show that such a system can change the perception of debt and the relation to money. The most common reasons for involvement are the need to establish social contacts, while the most pressing problem appears to be the lack of interest of young people in this phenomenon. Individualization in education as a means of education of gifted children in elementary school

Thesis topic is individualization in education as a means to educate gifted students at the elementary school. The aim is to find out how teachers educate gifted students at the elementary school and what types of individualization techniques applied in everyday teaching. Teacher's attitude to education of gifted students, issues orientation and differentiation of educational offerings. The focus of the theoretical part is description of the specific characteristics and the problems of gifted children, which affects educational process and the relationships with the teacher and classmates. Options education of gifted pupils, modification methods, forms of teaching and learning environment. The multiple practical part includes the study of three elementary schools, which includes observation of teaching involved interviews with teachers. The research described disunited approach teachers for gifted children with their education. Comparisons between schools showed large differences in the education of gifted children in the primary school. Each school uses a different system of education of gifted students, has other goals in the education of gifted students and each school has different approach to the problem of gifted children. Homeschooling

The goal of the thesis is to specify the position of homeschooling in the Czech Republic and to discuss its effectiveness in the fulfilment of the common educational aims. For this reason, the theoretical part is firstly dealing with the common educational aims, and their official formulation in the Czech Republic. The thesis then continues to focus on homeschooling and its capabilities in fulfilling these aims, in which these areas are crucial: the family as an environment where learning takes place, current legislation, individualization, socialisation, and the change from home-schooling to regular schooling. The afore mentioned area is discussed in more detail in the research part of the thesis, where we find the statements of the graduates of homeschooling which were gained through a questionnaire. As a whole the thesis offers an unconventional point of view on education and provides specific tips for parents, pupils and teachers. Individualization in Social studies and Sience in primary school instruction

The diploma thesis has a theoretically-empirical character with a focus on the empirical part. The starting point for the solution is the requirement of the primary teacher competence to work with the differentiated group of pupils, take into account different educational needs in the planning, implementation and reflection of teaching. The aim is to determine whether and how teachers fulfill the requirement of primary school in natural science lessons. Describe and evaluate the implementation of this requirement during the realization of specific thematic unit by several teachers. Methods of the content analysis, interviews and direct observation of teaching are used to fulfill the targets of the thesis.
