Definition of new referential values of maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures and P0.1 values in normal population of the 16 - to - 17 age range
Kálalová, Tereza ; Šulc, Jan (advisor) ; Koudelková, Alena (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to define norms for inspiratory (Pimax) and expiratory (Pemax) pressures and mouth occlusion pressure (P0.1) in healthy white population of the 16-17 age group in the Czech Republic, specifically the capital city of Prague and its close vicinity. Furthermore, this work aspires to ascertain whether there is a correlation between the respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric and pulmonary values. In order to define the norms, 79 children were tested, including 41 boys and 38 girls 16 to 17 years old. After establishing the subjects' case histories, anthropometric, spirometric inspiratory, expiratory and forced vital capacity measurements were made. The study defined the norms of respiratory pressures and P0.1 in 16 to 17-year-old boys and girls, thus achieving its main goal. Furthermore, a difference was found between the average measured Pimax and Pemax values for boys and girls, with the boys showing higher values comparing with the girls. The study did not ascertain a correlation between respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric values (age, height, weight, BMI, BSA). No correlation was found between respiratory pressures and static pulmonary volumes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Heroes of the troubled children

The dissertation thesis points to a wide range of possibilities of therapeutic use with fairy-tale material and at the same time offers a concrete example of working with adolescents with educational problems. We worked with ten respondents, 5 boys and 5 girls who were clients of the Center for Educational Care. Based on the assumption that the fairy tale metaphor represents a non-threatening stimulus, the respondents were asked to formulate their own lives into a fairy tale. All participants were willing to work with a fairy-tale metaphor even on subjectively unpleasant topics, and in none of the stories did we encounter any significant resistance. The analysis of stories through Propp's morphology of the fairy tale brought a characteristic story of a child with an educational problem and at the same time proved to be a meaningful therapeutic tool. The analysis of the data through a narratively oriented approach inspired by McAdams and his identity as a life story yielded a demonstration of the identity of an adolescent with educational problems. An important outcome of the work is the evaluation of the internally experienced responsibility of this specific group of adolescents. Keywords: adolescents, risk behavior, fairy tale, life story, therapeutic tool
The relationship between personality traits and attitudes toward electronic cigarettes in adolescents
Pokorná, Vendula ; Lukavská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (referee)
BAKALÁŘSKÁ PRÁCE The attitudes of adolecents towards e-cigarettes and tobacco Abstract In my bachelor thesis I deal with the attitudes of the czech adolescents (students of the first year of the the high school) to combustible cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and heated tabacco. I was interested especially in one concrete cognitive attitude - perceived risk of all mentioned products. The perceived risk of the electronic cigarette and of the heated tabacco I compared with the perceived risk of combustible cigarettes. My goal was also to find out whether the czech adolescents know how theese products function, since when it is possible to buy them and since when it is possible to use them. I aimed for finding out different predictors of percieved risk, such as gender, type of school and the knowledge of the certain product. I was also observing the relations between the perceived risk of the electronic cigarettes, the heated tabacco and the personal characteristics according to Big 5. The data has been gained through the cooperation with high schools of the capital city of Prague. School specialists of primar prevention had a very important function in the research, because they distributed the questionnaires to students in the schools. It has turned out that the czech adolescents perceive the electronic...

Navrátilová, Tereza ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Ježková, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the social network TikTok and its perception by children born between 2003 and 2006, specifically what role TikTok plays in their lives, how they use it and their content preferences on this platform. The theoretical part describes the TikTok platform, its origin, development, typical users and algorithm. It also defines psychological profile of adolescents and describes their behavior on social networks. In the practical part, a qualitative research was conducted in a form of interviews, which found out how respondents perceive TikTok and how they use it. The respondents were active users of this social network. Finally, the results are being discused, which is followed by a description of how to successfuly target advertisement on TikTok on researched age group based on the results of the survey.
Validity of drawing as a projective test
Matoušková, Tereza ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Křížová, Ivana (referee)
Validity of drawing as a projective test The subject of this work is to investigate the relationship between a projective method, I specifically chose the Tree Test, and the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2. The research question is as follows: What is the correlation between the clinical scales of the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2 and the projective Tree Drawing Test? Both tests were assigned to adolescents from children's homes. I found statistically significant correlations in paranoia, hypochondria, hysteria and psychasthenia among men, I also looked for matches between individual clinical scales and the Tree Drawing in individual case reports. Unlike the research I present in my work, I have found areas where the projective Tree Drawing Test could correspond to personality characteristics as approached by the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2.
Study of BMI trajectories depending on lifestyle factors - longitudinal study of Czech adolescents
Křivánková, Anna ; Zamrazilová, Hana (advisor) ; Boženský, Jan (referee)
Obesity is a serious metabolic disease that often occurs in childhood. Up to 55 % of obese children continue to be obese until adolescence and then 80 % of these obese adolescents remain obese in adulthood. This diploma thesis follows the results of the first round of the study Childhood Obesity Prevalence and Treatment (COPAT). Analyzes the data found in 2009-2010 in relation with the results from 2018. The aim of this work was to determine the prevalence of overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome, hidden (normal-weight) obesity and to examine the factors potentially contributing to the development of excessive body weight in the participants in the second round of COPAT study. After eight years, 12 % of the original sample, ie 246 probands (150 women and 96 men), were repeatedly examined within the diploma thesis. The examinations took place at the Institute of Endocrinology in Prague and consisted of fasting blood, clinical examination (blood pressure and pulse measurement; determination of body composition by bioimpedance analysis) and anthropometric examination. All participants also completed an on-line questionnaire consisting of three parts (personalized questionnaire; Eating inventory questionnaire; Baecke questionnaire of habitual physical activity). The obtained data were processed using...
