The Lower Secondary School Pupils' Motivation and Value Orientation

This thesis deals with the motivation of pubescent children, especially to school work and the values they accept. Various motivational factors, which influence pupils of this age, are described in the theoretical part. The following chapters deal with the values, their importance and classification, explain the importance of school. The research part provides information about pupils´ motives not only to school work, but also about their attitudes, life goals and the context between them.
Criminal activity of students attending primary schools and its social impact

This diploma thesis deals with the criminality of children at the first level of elementary schools. The thesis is divided into theoretical part and empirical part. In the theoretical part, we are focusing on the causes and specifics of child criminality. Than three influences that affect the child are also described. This is the effect of family, school environment and leisure time. In the practical part are statistics of child criminality. As part of empirical research, we found out how the link between leisure time and the occurrence of criminal activity is. The questionnaire method was used. The data was collection at elementary school in Prague 1. Another method was self-observation based on communication with a low-threshold center worker.
Class climate

The diploma thesis "The Class Climate" has a theoretical-empirical character. The main aim of this thesis focuses on measuring and comparing the classroom climete of standard and alternative schools.The introductory part comprises definitions of basic terms such as social group, school environment, atmosphere, climate. Furthermore, it investigates the theoretical clarification of the classroom climate and details the elements, types and actors of the climate. The thesis also closely notes the research methods of the classroom climete measuring. The author concludes the theoretical part with description of the issue of alternative schools. The practical part implementes through questionnaire survey with a participation of pupils from standard and alternative primary schools. There has been defined the aim, assumptions and selected the method of the classroom climate measuring. The conclusion summarizes the results of the questionnaire survey as well as verifies the assumptions.
Homophobia among student groups from the teacher's perspective

This bachelor thesis focuses on how school teachers perceive the issue of homophobia among student groups. The aim of this work was to explore the thoughts and impressions of homophobia in school environment from the perspective of elementary school and grammar school teachers. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the concept of sexuality and defines its particular components and basic information about homosexuality. I especially focused on the sociological-cultural concept of sexuality and its relation to homophobia. Second chapter discusses the changes in cognitive, affective and social development during adolescence. Last chapter focuses on the subject of sexuality and homophobia in school environment and addresses the issue of homophobic harassment and bullying. In the empirical part I described my research and analyzed semi-structured interviews with elementary and grammar school teachers. I mainly focused on exploring their experience with specific manifestations of homophobia in school environment, and on their attitudes towards that issue. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Potential of Small School

The dissertation Potential of Small Scholl deals with specific features of this kind of schools. The paper presents the role of small schools in the school system, mutual interaction at schools, distinctive forms of organization and methodical approaches aiming at defining particularities of this kind of school. We have drawn a comparison of a small school and an ordinary primary school based on two case studies. Differences which have been found out can define potential of both types of schools. The results of the research have brought us recognition that the potential of a small school is conditioned by its size and low numbers of pupils in classrooms. These conditions enable creating such learning environment that provides a pupil with specific performance of school attendance. Other significant aspects are mutual cooperation among pupils themselves as well as among teachers and parents within a small social group or implementation of schooling in mixed age groups which leads particularly to respect and acceptance of otherness and of pupils with specific educational needs. Teacher as significant adult in the life of a student

(in English): This thesis deals with the current status of the teacher in the student's life in today's society. The theoretical part presents to the reader the basic issues concerning the two major subjects of education, teacher and pupil. The main goal of the practical part is to find out with the help of a questionnaire whether and to what extent is to identify the student with the teacher and with various forms of teachers' role in the student's life.
Bullying in schools in relation to the school environment

The theme of the thesis is the issue of bullying in schools. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part, the theoretical part deals with definitions of bullying, aggression, introduction to theory of aggression and setting bullying into the social context. In this part there will also be introduced methofological ways of obtaining data for bullying research and theoretical definition of bullying relations between aspects of school environment and bullying. In the practical part will be shown the data analysis of The survey of urban youth in 2015, which will map the relations between bullying and specific aspects of the school environment. Bachelor thesis describes the impact of theater lectors in specific czech theaters and educational methods of their work with a child spectator. In theoretical part of this thesis is defined general problematic of education of the spectator, approach of the theatrical art to the child spectator in particular. Further is presented a goal and content of a work of theater lector and definition of his relation with school environment. Practical part shows two models of impact of theater lectors in czech theatres with focus on educational methods used when working with child spectator. Prevention of aggressive and violent behavior in the selected school environment of primary school with a focus on children at risk of neglect

The intent of this study is to open up the issue of aggressive and violent behavior in the selected school environment of primary school with a focus on pupils at risk of neglect. The main aim is to monitor prevention and cooperation among staff at the school, and simultaneously a relationship of the school to other specialized institutions within a given topic. The theoretical part of the study is concerned with the definition of basic terms related to the issue, above all, how aggressive and violent behavior is defined in the context of the school environment, and how the neglected child syndrome and the term of prevention is defined. This part is based on literature search and the findings from my own experience. In the practical part is presented qualitative research using instrumental case study. The selected research tools are interviews and secondary data analysis, ie. social history and analysis of the school document by which the data are detected and subsequently analyzed. In conclusion, the study summarizes the major findings, observations, it also gives recommendations for improving prevention in the issue.
