Svačinková, Alena ; Hůla, Zdenek (advisor) ; Uhl Skřivanová, Věra (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with meaning of objects in our society. This thesis is divided into three parts - practical, didactic and pictorial part. The theoretical part examines an ordinary and necessary subject, subject as a bearer of meaning and a subject as a protective and ritual thing. I am simultaneously reffering to consumerism and sensitive understanding of the subject as a value in today's society. I compare the tools of the past with a mobile phone. The teoretical part is followed by the didactic part, which is composed of three artistic lectures I have given. Me and children discussed the following topics: Painted still life, Shop window and The box with my stuff. The pictorial part focuses on everyday objects. I have created the cycle of twelve still lifes. Each still life coresponds to one particular person, who is close to me, and symbolize their important things.

To the Economic and Political Development of the German Democratic Republic in the 1970s (Pavel Szobi) Abstract The thesis deals with the economic development of the German Democratic Republic in the 1970s. It characterizes the basic elements of real socialism and implementation of the main SED strategy for the studied period - the so called Unity of Economic and Social Policy. It evaluates single aspects and the impact on the political stability of the regime. The thesis determines effects of energetic policy, external debt and lack of foreign currency on the national economy. The author does not consider the economic failures, but the dictatorship itself to be the main reason for the regime decay. Restriction of human and civil rights, together with comparing the standard of living with the Federal Republic of Germany led to the rise of social policy expenses and an extensive subvention of the so called consumer socialism. These courses of action enabled to stabilize the GDR temporarily; however, it also made the main defects of central planning more visible. Not only a modern consumer society failed to form, but even supplying population with random goods remained an issue which is well documented in the thesis on the example of the so called coffee crisis. The author comes to the conclusion that these...

Krása, Petr ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Šubrt, Jiří (referee)

Current character of social structure is seen as leading to alienation in many ways. In the end, the author brings to the discussion concrete proposal for the change of social structure by improving social abilities of people and consequently also improving human relations.

It notes the rise of critical theory, which arose mainly in the context of the so-called "cultural turn", starting in the postwar period. It records the development of social theory as a discipline combining several approaches, grounded in a larger frame of reference, the main aim is to highlight the difference between social science typical for modernity and more or less postmodern authors, which we nowadays consider the leading scientists and philosophers of the 20th century. This report covers the Frankfurt School of T. Adorno,...
