This thesis deals with restoration and repurposing of main train station building in Brno. It consists of Building permit documentation and part of Documentation for execution of the project, both of which are based on architectonic study created as part of course AG33 - Architectural Design Studio III. during previous studies. The building is situated in Brno city centre, district Brno – Střed, cadastral area (municipality of) Město Brno (610003). The project assumes that the main train station will be moved ca 800 meters to the south, leaving the current train station building unused. The project incorporates a conceptual study of a new purpose for the historic building and nearby railway junction, including its interconnection with near surroundings. Detailed solution describes a new hotel building, which will replace current newest wing of the train station. The main idea of the transformation is to keep as much of the historic building and valuable structures as possible, avoid increasing the building footprint and bring new life to the building and city centre. The attractiveness of the site will be enhanced by a new park located in the area currently occupied by the railway junction. The park will be connected to the 2nd floor of the Tesco shopping centre and Vaňkovka shopping gallery by a pedestrian bridge. Parking capacity will be provided by a new underground car park built below the railway junction. Additionally, modern version of the original tower above the main hall, which was destroyed during World War II, will be built. The new hotel building, as well as all repairs and changes (new tower) will follow a modern style, while respecting and enhancing the historic Art Nouveau building and genius loci of the place.

The solution is a family centre with spaces for workout of mother with kids or for these two groups separately, also playroom and reading room for children and workshop area. Another function is a café in thematic style with an adjoining multi-purpose hall, occasional accommodation and administrative purpose. It is also profitable for owner of this building. The owner is Oustecké nádraží s.r.o. - a company formed predominantly by the inhabitants of the town Ústí nad Orlicí, who have deserved to prevent the planned demolition of the building. The architectural study also suggests the modification of the area on the west side of the building, which will make the surrounding area more attractive.

The thesis is an exploration into the Jewish memorial sites erected in the Soviet Zone of Occupation (SBZ) and German Democratic Republic (GDR) between the years 1945 and 1987. The primary aim of the thesis is to provide a collection of Jewish memorial sites in East Germany during the aforementioned time frame. It uses the theories of French historian Pierre Nora as well a number of other authors to legitimize the importance of these memorial sites. In addition, a typology was created by the author to ensure the proper collection of the memorial sites in order to reflect the research question: how was Nazi anti-Semitism remembered in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) through memorial sites between the years 1945-1987? The thesis is, however, more than just a collection of data. It also provides observations about trends and patterns in Jewish memorialization as well uses a method introduced by Ahenk Yilmaz to examine the individual characteristics of the sites. The thesis concludes that Jewish memorialization in the GDR was primarily a bottom-up approach, a fact that has been overlooked by many researchers in the field. The base of Bachelor Thesis is the architectural study wich was done in summer semester of the third year of the bachelor´s studies. The topic of this study was rocontruction and new use of chateau in town of Zlín. Until recently, the build was just restaurant and Museum of Southeastern Moravia. Now the Zlín chateau offers new restaurant with own small kitchen, cafe, wine cellar, learning centre for people of all ages, offices for beginning and small businessman, there is also small library with playroom for children and especially gallery in attic space with observation towers. Reconstruction does not alter the historic character of the chateau, therefore I want to use here just mild colours and simple materials like glass, concrete, metal and wood. From the new constructions we have got here the most outstanding ones, like four corner observation towers, new elevator in concrete tube and glass roof above courtyard.
