Age leadership v obchodní společnosti
Ondráčková, Tereza
Ondráčková, T. Age leadership in a business company. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of population aging and its impact on human resource management in a selected business company. The thesis is based on the concept of age management, whose practices are a modern approach to human resource management. The aim of the work is to identify the existing management methods and then to propose recommendations for the implementation of appropriate age management practices. The literature research introduces the issue of age management and its connection with human resources marketing. The essential part of the thesis, in the form of an analysis of the internal environment of the company, is contained in the empirical part of the thesis. The analysis is carried out by semi-structured interviews with a company representative and a questionnaire survey among the company employees. The research showed deficiencies especially in the methods to retain existing employees. Recommendations are proposed based on the identified shortcomings, especially the age structure of the employees. The limits and constraints that have a possible negative impact on the research results are discussed in the discussion of this thesis.
Aktuálna problematika zrenia mäsa vo vzťahu k očakávaniam a požiadavkám zo strany spotrebiteľa
Gago, Branislav
This work investigates the effect of aging on meat quality. The research is based on a review of current scientific literature, including studies on biochemical and sensory changes that occur during aging. In particular, i compared the effects of aging on marbling, tenderness, flavor and moisture content. Further, the effects of different aging processes such as dry aging and wet aging were discussed. In addition, the economic and health benefits of aged beef were also investigated. The results showed that aging can have a positive effect on the quality and flavor of the meat, leading to increased tenderness and marbling, as well as improved flavor and juiciness. Additionally, dry aging has been found to be more effective in increasing beef quality compared to wet aging. Finally, the economic and health benefits of ripening were emphasized.
Adaptation of seniors as a assumption for successful aging
Doskočilová, Aneta ; Štětovská, Iva (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee)
Successful aging is increasingly topical issue given the rapidly aging population and it is therefore crucial to deal with the way the old people adapt to the coming age, and whether there is some way we can be prepared for it. Model coping with life's problems - selection, optimization and compensation is a lifelong adaptation strategy, which currently in old age leads to successful aging. Besides adaptation are important attitudes towards aging and old age, that have an impact on senior's self-esteem. The main goal of this thesis was to analyze attitudes towards age and the use of model coping with life problems in a sample of younger and older Czech seniors using questionnaires SOC and AAQ. The research had a qualitative aspect, which focused on mapping the topic of retirement planning and strategies for successful aging. It turned out that the younger and older seniors differ from each other only in the use of the strategy chosen selection, in other strategies there was no difference between age groups. In the area of attitudes to each other, age groups also did not differ. The results also show that between using SOC strategies and their own attitude to old age, there is no relationship. Seniors recommend to young people and to their peers to think of their health, maintain good relationships...
Subjective speed of time flow
Slavíková, Lenka ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Stehlík, Luděk (referee)
The following thesis deals with psychological time, duration of time and primarily the subjective speed of time. In the theoretical part the theories of time perception and the theories of time acceleration with age are presented. In the empirical part a hypothesis about the acceleration of subjective time with age is tested. In contrast to popularly held view that time passes faster with increasing age, empirical data do not support this assumption. A questionnaire mapping the impressions of the speed of time was administered to a sample of 101 respondents from three age groups (adolescents, adults and seniors). The newly developed Subjective time speed inventory (ISRČ) and Zimbardo time perspective inventory (ZTPI) were also included. Most respondents agree with the statement that time seems to pass faster now than before and that time seems to pass fast. Testing the main research hypothesis about the acceleration of time with age, however, finds no significant differences in perceived speed of time along with age (Kruskal-Wallis test). Significant difference in relation to age was found only in the speed measurement by means of ISRČ (Kruskal-Wallis test). Adolescents achieved significantly higher raw score than adults and seniors by means of ISRČ (Mann-Whitney U test). This result implies that...
Effect of aging on mechanical properties of 3D printed samples using stereolithography
Drechslerová, V. ; Falta, J. ; Fíla, T. ; Dvořák, R. ; Kytýř, Daniel
This paper focuses on stereolithography (an additive manufacturing technology working on the principle of curing liquid resins layer by layer using ultraviolet radiation) and the effect of aging on the mechanical properties of the material and printed samples. The aging of the material could be a problem for its subsequent use as the stability of the mechanical properties would not be maintained and unwanted deterioration of the material could occur. As part of the research, sets of samples were printed and subjected to different aging methods and subsequently subjected to quasi-static and dynamic uni-axial load tests. From the data obtained, the basic mechanical properties of the material were calculated and compared with each other. The aim of this paper was to investigate whether aging process causes significant changes in the mechanical properties of the materials used, which could have a consequential impact on their use in different industries.
Relationship between hand grip strength and cognitive function in older adults over 65 years of age
Čutková, Michaela ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: Relationship between hand grip strength and cognitive function in older adults over 65 years of age Goals: The main goal of this diploma thesis was to find out possible links between hand grip strength and cognitive functions in older adults over 65 years of age Method: As part of the master's thesis, a secondary analysis of data from the international cross- sectional study conducted within the Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) project was performed. The participants of the study were divided into seven categories based on their educational attainment, separately for both men and women. Generalized linear models were calculated for each of the mentioned categories as part of the data analysis. Results: The survey included a total of 38,519 participants with an average age of 74.00 ± 6.7 years from 18 countries worldwide. More than half of the participants were women. In the data analysis, it was found that the most represented educational group among the participants was the third group with higher secondary education, as defined by the ISCED 2011 classification. The tables indicate that values of all percentiles increase linearly with higher levels of education. This result suggests that higher education is associated with better performance in the examined test....

Mikošková, Helena ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Author: Bc.Helena Mikošková Title: Omega-3 fatty acid consumption in women over 80 years of age and its relation to physical activity and cognitive function Objectives: To compare dietary patterns of omega-3 fatty acid (FA) consumption in physically active and inactive women and to investigate the relationship of this consumption with cognitive function levels. Methods: Thirty-eight women aged 80 to 87 years (mean 82.9±2.13) were included in the study and divided into 2 groups. The first group (N=20) consisted of women who used to be active in middle age (30-60 years of age and performed a minimum of 2.5 hours/week of physical activity (PA)). The second group (N=18) consisted of inactive women who performed PA in less than the above range in middle age. Feeding habits were assessed with a food frequency questionnaire and cognitive function was assessed with the Mini Mental State Examination, Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, Path Test, Verbal Fluency Test (animals), and Boston Naming Test-30. Results: Dietary habits with respect to omega-3 FA consumption did not differ between groups. It was also found that less then 50% of all women interviewed followed the general recommendations for fish consumption. No relationship was found between consumption of omega-3 FAs from natural sources and...

Valtová, Nela ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Křivánková, Markéta (referee)
Title: Level of physical activity in cognitively superior elderly women Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to describe the level of physical activity (PA) in cognitively superior senior women and compare it with the PA level of women of the same age. Another aim is to investigate the relationships between PA, anthropometric parameters and cognitive functions in this group of elderly women. Methods: A total of 90 women older than 80 years (mean age 83.4±3.3 years) who declared regular PA in middle age were included in the cross-sectional survey. The testing had the form of an interview with the collection of many anamnestic data, a questionnaire survey and measurement of the waist circumference. The method of determining the current level of PA was the IPAQ-E questionnaire. The MMSE, RAVLT, BNT-2, TMT and VF tests were used to assess cognitive functions. Results: Women over the age of 80 spend an average of 5.03 ± 2.3 h/day sitting, 181 ± 127.5 min/day walking, 167.4 ± 97.8 min/day moderate PA (on 5 days a week), 48 ± 84.4 minutes/day of high PA (on 1 day per week) and their average energy expenditure is 8560.2 MET minutes per week. Based on the evaluation of cognitive functions, it was shown that 33% of women with the status of cognitive SuperAging (SA) are in the research group. According to the...
Obesity in senior population in homes for the elderly
Jančarová, Kateřina ; Káňová, Marcela (advisor) ; Petřeková, Karin (referee)
The thesis deals with obesity in senior homes and homes with special regimes. The aim of the thesis is to determine the distribution of obese clients in social facilities, to identify the presence of sarcopenia among obese clients, the reduction diet administered, and the education of clients about reduction diets, obesity, and its consequences. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the issues of aging, obesity, and sarcopenia. In the practical part, the presence of obesity is confirmed among enrolled clients based on BMI calculation, calf circumference, and waist/hip ratio. The frequency of android and gynoid obesity is determined. Furthermore, the presence of sarcopenia among obese clients is identified based on handgrip strength measurement with a dynamometer and measurement of muscle and fat tissue using the Tanita device. The presence of a reduction diet and client education on diet and obesity risk is identified. The menus and their nutritional composition are evaluated. A questionnaire is assessed, with questions focused on the clients' lifestyle, especially weight loss during life, eating habits, and physical activity. Based on the knowledge gained from theory and practice, it was assumed that obese clients form a minority of seniors in social facilities, but the majority of them...
