Case Study of Socially excluded locality in Litvínov - Janov and possible solutions

This diploma thesis is focused on issues of socially excluded Romany locality in Litvínov - Janov. The problematic situation is described in the thesis. There is a higher number of socially handicapped people with a wide range of social problems like unemployment, insolvency, occurrence of socio-pathological phenomena including criminal behaviour in this locality. The occurrence of socio-pathological phenomena within the socially handicapped people causes conflicts with other residents living in the locality. The diploma thesis also focuses on the precautions and policies made by the city of Litvínov to solve such problematic situation. Each precaution is subsequently described. Furthermore, there is an evaluation of these precautions by means of monitoring social indicators. In result, it is possible to say that there are no signs of distinctive improvement of the situation in the locality. In the conclusion, further precautions are recommended for finding a solution to this problematic situation in the housing estate. The recommended precautions arise from the analysis executed in the locality Janov and from precautions realised by the city of Litvínov.
Education of Roma in the Czech Republic focusing of basic school

This Bachelor's thesis deals with Romani education issue. The goal was to get experience based on own observation to write a brochure which will serve the Faculty of Educationstudents. The thesis consists of three parts. The theoretical part deals with Romani history, culture and traditions as well as about differences in their education. In the research part I determined the real state and conditions for realization of Romani education at selected primary school - Havlíčkovo Square Primary School Prague 3. I carried out the observation in preparatory classes and with both the students of primary and secondary grade. The technique was the observation method combined with interview. Since there are also Romani teaching assistants at this primary school, I was interested in their point of view on this issue as well. The practical part brought up the summary of observed facts concerning the Romani education which were the basis for the information brochure dedicated to the target group above-mentioned.
System of social services focused of on integration of Roma people in Jihlava

Annotation: This thesis concerns in detail with the system of social services which contribute to the process of social inclusion of the Roma minority in the area of Jihlava city. The thesis describes analytically particular services from a point of view of their needs, focus and range, and puts them in the context of theoretical knowledge of social work and its importance for integration. It specially focuses on the local excluded Roma urban localities, it maps their current status and analyses the general situation from a viewpoint of next development related to the housing of Jihlava's Roma people. Proposals for measures how to improve the living conditions of the Roma community in Jihlava and its coexistence with the majority are a part of this thesis.
Children and young people from social excluded localities and their failure in informal education

The author in this thesis titled Children and young people from socially excluded localities and their failure in non-formal education deals with the causes of failure of children and young people from socially excluded localities in the process of informal education. Informal education is now perceived as a group, institutionalized, planned process that takes place outside or out of the formal education curriculum, ie, in free, "optional" or after-school time. To determine the causes of failure of children and youth in the formal education process, the chosen method of individual interviews. The research sample consisted of five clients open club. People in Need in Bilina, who have failed or are failing in the process of informal learning in institutionalized facilities. Romany children education in Czech school system and its realization in Náchod

ABSTRACT This dissertation is a proposal of a strategical model for romany`s pupils education in Czech school system. This dissertation is conceived for primary and lower secondary schools teachers. Our goal was to make a model of the work with romany pupils which could be applied with some modifications for any basic schools where romany pupils are educated. It has been located to Náchod. It is a town where the current situation in education can be used as a good example for the similar educational problems we can observe in other towns of the Czech Republic. The dissertation includes many methodical suggestions which are designed for simple and useful practicing at schools. These suggestions should be used in order to solve various problems teachers still have and will probably have with Romany pupils. An Encoder and Decoder of an Error-correction Code for Programmable Read-only Memories

This work deals with theory of coding, analyses current groups of error correction codes and describes features and parametres of chosen representatives of these groups. By comparing these parametres along with given criteria it choses extended Hamming code as suitable code for securing read-only-memories (ROM). For this code it choses way of realization of synthetisable modules of coder and decoder and describes their design. The work describes design of synthetizable modules of coder and decoder in VHDL. Then it explains functionality of created application which is able to generate these synthetisable modules. For verification of generated modules it creates authentication environment. Part of this environment is also model of ROM allowing writing of any error value into the memory. In the end it automatically verifies generated modules of coder and decoder with various width of input information vector.
EAST SLOVAKIAN ROMANIES

The bachelor thesis deals with East Slovakian Romanies, specifically with the Romany population analysis according to the register from 31st December 1989 in the area of the former administration unit, Eastern Slovakia region. It is a part of a preserved register which was kept by former social department of District national committees in 80´s in socialist Czechoslovakia. In a deeper perspective the thesis also expounds the history and social issues connected with this nationality. At the same time it evaluates geographic conditions of the area which are sorted out on physical, social economic and demographic characteristics. However, the main aim of the thesis is the transfer of the database about Romanies which is kept according to Eastern Slovakia districts and municipalities from the written to the electronic form and then its analysis from the point of view of the numerical representation, spatial differentiation and selected structural characteristics of Roma inhabitants. The text is enriched with charts, graphs and maps.
Services Institution for Children and Youth Srdíčko - Jiloro from the Perspective of the Target Group

Children who grow up in dysfunctional families where they do not have required educational care and model are nowadays focused as frequented. The number of reasons why is a child on the edge of parents´ interests is increasing. Those children are exposed to risky factors much more than the others, because they lack of protection and an educational model. Society´s reaction to this situation is building Low Threshold Institutions which offer ambulatory or filed services to children or youngsters who are endangered by social exclusion. In a theoretical part, there is a comprehensive introduction of issues connected with these building Low Threshold Institutions for children and youngsters (NZDM further). These issues are clearly arranged into chapters which represent legislative fixing of NZDM, its rules and standards. A history of NZDM which has been developed in the Czech Republic dynamically since the 90s to a present form is a part of another chapter. Principles of NZDM, inner rules of provided services, employees and their personal dispositions, education and ethical norms are also describes, as well as services and activities of NZDM which are mainly of advisory and preventive character. The last chapter deals with a target group, which is affected by inner factors primarily developmental psychology of potential clients and outer factors which are socialization ones. A research is based on a qualitative approach where a point of view of the target group on NZDM Srdíčko Jiloro was found out with the aid of data fixing. Another points of interest was employees´ point of view, their professional perception of provided services. Last but not least, subjective view of NZDM from some clients´ parents was put into the research, too. The first aim of the thesis was to find out whether and which relevance the services of NZDM Srdíčko Jiloro have got for the clients. The second one was to identify how the work with clients is going on (e.g. contact work, work with educational situations, motivational dialogues and work with drug themes). Under the terms of an empirical thesis part are introduced data which were gathered into following results NZDM Srdíčko Jiloro has got its own irreplaceable role in the area of Okružní, but the clients are not aware of the fact that NZDM has got any influence on them. They do not use any other alternatives for spending their free time. There are 40 clients and only 2 social workers every day. Clients do not talk about their problems, they say they do not need help. Advantages are that social workers learn with them, help them with their homework, etc. They are also aware of using of leisure time activities and workshops. Social workers and information in files and records of services and activities prove that clients have got problems. These are mostly very grave and that is another reason why Okružní has got its important role. Social workers provide especially consulting, information and situational service, preventive and educational programmes, work with close relatives, etc. Professionals in NZDM and Rehabilitation and Activation Service Sasanka work with whole families and they try to offer complex support and help. Social workers guide clients through their childhood and maturing, they are becoming their guides and mentors, they lead them to positive changes and have got mainly socialization and educative effect. Work with the clients in Okružní is more hectic than in other NZDMs. I think it is primarily because the social workers want to offer services to a maximal number of clients but with the lack of employees and time. Leisure time activities are going on in an ordinary way, but work with children and youngsters in a social unacceptable area needs specific professional and human attitudes and approaches. Because of poor personal sources are social workers forced to a negative trend provide services rather in a quantitative than in a qualitative way.
