Involvement of donors of blood plasma to the donor's registry bone marrow
Míková, Iveta ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Chvojková, Kateřina (referee)
The Bachelor thesis is focusing on the possibility to exploit the potential of regular blood plasma donors for inclusion into the register of bone marrow donors. Based on the assumption, that this is the almost identical population and that the criteria for blood plasma donating are similar to the criteria for bone marrow donation, plasma donors are tested periodically on the infectious diseases transmitted through blood, they have experience with the intravenous collection and plasma donors are largely complying with the age limit needed for bone marrow register. The theoretical part describes anatomy and physiology of blood plasma and bone marrow and current knowledge on the issue for donating of blood plasma and bone marrow. Describes types and indications of bone marrow transplantation, registers of blood plasma and bone marrow donors, the motivation for donating, reliefs and remunerations for donors. I have used for the making of this thesis processed research from Bibliographia medica tschechoslovacia in the National medical library, personal source of reference literature, professional consultation, own experiences and another Bachelor thesis. Methods: The Thesis was prepared based on quantitative research in the form of none standard anonymous questionnaire. The target group were the donors...
Analysis of English and French True Friends (Vrais Amis) in a Corpus of Authentic Text Samples
Pípalová, Mariana ; Lancová, Klára (advisor) ; Červinková Poesová, Kristýna (referee)
This PhDr. dissertation provides a parole analysis of vrais amis (true counterparts) in current French and current English. To this end a specialized English-French translation corpus was assembled, composed of three subcorpora equal in length, namely Religious, Political and Fiction discourse, amounting altogether to approximately 60,000 words. With the help of the AntConc computer tool, true friends employed in the corpus were generated, here conceived of as a register-specific phenomenon exclusively. Using the frequency criteria, a "central setˮ of 64 most frequent counterparts was delineated. These central counterparts, marked by (almost) identical frequencies, identical contexts and the same registers, were subjected to a multiaspectual analysis, scrutinizing the pronunciation, spelling, word classes, share of derivation, and frequency of both, the types and the tokens. Since English proved to be the borrowing language in all instances, the research also indirectly addressed the degree of their integration in the English lexicon by reference to frequency bands. For most of the researched aspects, three zones of counterparts were identified, namely those exhibiting identity, close similarity and relative difference. As a result, employing the Theory of Centre and Periphery (Daneš 1966), we may...

Public awareness of the issue of donating bone marrow
Buriánková, Hana ; Sojková, Monika (advisor) ; Klamová, Hana (referee)
The primary aim of this diploma thesis was to draw attention to the issue of bone marrow donation. The thesis focuses on the level of public awareness and people's significant doubts regarding bone marrow donation, as these doubts and apprehensions might be the main reason restraining them from entering the bone marrow donor register. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive summary of findings in this area. Substantial part addresses particular types of the hematopoietic cells taking process and the following donor treatment. The empirical part of this diploma thesis constitutes of a quantitative research, in which hundereds of respondents have been reached through an electronic questionnaire. Within exactly 10 days, 576 of them filed for the survey, 496 of them were valid and processed. The outcome of the research reflects strong need for raising factual public awareness in the area of hematopoietic cells donation, especially in respect to current donation methods. 79,51 % of respondents had no knowledge of peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donation method. 50,26 % of them admitted fear of the bone marrow donation procedure itself. Respondents taking part in the research showed great interest in the topic. 85,48 % of them would appreciate further education and 82,66 % assumes that...
The regulation of lobbying in the CR - recommendations based upon foreign experience
Kraus, Lukáš ; Wintr, Jan (advisor) ; Ondřejek, Pavel (referee)
Lobbying regulation in the Czech Republic - recommendations based on international experience Summary Lobbying is a natural part of contemporary globalized world, where political interests meet intensively with the economic and other private interests. In order to strengthen the principles, especially transparency and responsibility, some countries adopt lobbying regulation. The USA, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and the EU institutions approach to lobbying in some aspects in the same way, in many other aspects they approach to it very differently. Different historical and socio-economical experience of these entities has, often substantial, influence on the differences of their regulation approach. The Czech Republic shares with many mentioned countries the experience of post- communist state, which does not have long democratic political culture and which has many problems with corruption in the public decision-making process. Lobbying regulation under Czech conditions is therefore necessary for raising transparency and responsibility of politicians. During the preparation of the future regulation, it is necessary to respect recmmendations of the international organizations and to thoroughly analyze experience of other states. The necessary parts of the future law should be especially: clear...
Ethical aspects of stem cell donation
Březinová, Ludmila ; Štegmannová, Ingrid (advisor) ; Slavčev, Antonij (referee)
Donation of blood stem cells could help save the life of patients with a variety of hematological diseases. Despite its topicality it does not belong to widely known areas and a large section of the population deals with this issue only if it begins to relate to them personally. Therefore I would like to contribute with my work I would to the wider debate on this topic focusing on ethical issues. In the theoretical part I describe the history of the donation and transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells, which together are inseparable. I introduce the role of the Czech Stem Cells Donor Registry and the legislative definition of its functioning. For a comprehensive look at this issue I describe the methods of blood stem cells collection and their transplantation primarily to depict the practical issues and questions donors and patients are exposed to. The main part of my work is devoted to the ethically problematic areas which we as the registry staff can meet and whose solution we are exposed to. The research part of my work is focused on the donor perception of the need to be informed and devoted to the fate and identity of the stem cells recipient in the context of the entire donation process. The objective is to find the right approach to donors who selflessly undergo the process of donation....
Contrastive analysis of a text-type: English and Czech restaurant menus.
Hryzbylová, Eva ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
This thesis carries out a contrastive analysis of English and Czech restaurant menus. A restaurant menu is a specific type of text that deserves a detailed examination. The theoretical background outlines the various uses of the concepts genre, text type, register and style. The further study of this specific text type is carried out on the basis of an existing theoretical material that focuses on texts of a similar nature. Ten samples of British and Irish menus, ten samples of Czech menus and six samples of English translations of Czech menus were collected for the purpose of the contrastive analysis. The analysis of these authentic menus provides a description of their arrangement and structure, as well as their typological classification among a specific text type category. English and Czech menus are described in terms of their contents and formal, lexical and grammatical features. A subsequent comparison of the characteristics of each sample reveals similarities and differences between them. The differences between the two samples are reflected in deficiencies of the English translations of Czech menus. The analysis of English translations of Czech menus and their confrontation with English menus reveals mistakes that typically occur in the translations of menus. Thus, the thesis presents a...

The thesis deals mainly with the possibilities of using the module nRF24L01+ for the wireless sound transfer, with as low latency, good reliability and sound quality as possible. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the description of the device and its internal structure for wireless sound transfer, even in the case of transferring multichannel sound. The thesis also describes the sound digitalization process and its requirements for the final quality. The second part of this thesis is focused on the description of the wireless module nRF24L01+, including analyzing its internal structure and the way it works. A comparison to other wireless modules that are available on the market, including its advantages and disadvantages, is also provided. The third part of the thesis is devoted to the design of the described system for an electric guitar.
