Selected auxological aspects of menarche
Švecová, Martina ; Krásničanová, Hana (advisor) ; Zemková, Daniela (referee)
Thesis aims to analyze some auxological aspects of menarche in a sample of peripubertal school-aged Prague girls. Sample PRAHA 2012 consists of 293 girls from Prague within the age ranging from 11,00 - 14,99 years. Ascertained median age of menarche 12,4 years is significantly lower (p = 0,0004) than median of Prague population - 13,04 years, respectively lower than median age of menarche of Czech population - 13,00 years according to data from the last national anthropological survey (CAV 2001). Our investigation suggests a "break off" in long-term stagnation age of menarche (minus 0,6 year) at least in a urban population in Czech Republic. According to our findings deceleration age of menarche wasn't accompanied by increase of average body height or other nutritional characteristics (body weight, BMI, arm circumference, thickness of skinfolds) in comparison with actual pediatrics standards. Though, there is a clearly evidence that participant's body composition affected age of menarche. A comparison of premenarcheal (n = 139) and postmenarcheal (n = 154) girls of the same age showed statistically significant elevated values in body weight (42,5 kg, 47,6 kg vs 56,3 kg, 54,1 kg), BMI (17,6 kg/mš, 18,3kg/mš vs 21,3 kg/mš, 20,7 kg/mš) and percentage of body fat (19,4%, 19,7% vs 24,5% a 23,1%) at...
Body composition and dietary habits of triathletes
Pleskotová, Zuzana ; Kinkorová, Ivana (advisor) ; Heller, Jan (referee)
Title: Body composition and dietary habits of triathletes Objectives: Assessment of differences in selected parameters of body composition between racing and non-racing season of triathletes and exploration of their dietary habits Methods: The bioelectric impedance Bodystat Quadscan 4000 was used for getting input and output data of body composition. Chosen anthropometric parameters were measured. Questionnaires generated by software SURVEY and FITLINIE were used to explore dietary habits. Results: Results of our study shows that different physical load in non racing and racing season in triathlon influences some parameters of body composition, but everything is influenced by individual variability. Dietary habits are influenced by individual variability too. Keywords: body composition, triathlon, bioelectrical impedance, nutrition in sport
Comparison of body composition of soccer players according to their players' post
Česák, Petr ; Malá, Lucia (advisor) ; Malý, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Comparison of body composition of soccer players according to their players' post Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the body composition of soccer players according to their post and to compare these data with the results of similar testing taken in foreign countries. Methods: 45 players participated in the testing in total. The machine of bioelectrical impedance BIA 2000 M was used for the detection of the body composition and the gained data were further proceeded in the programme NUTRI 4. The observed parameters were a percentage of body fat, an absolute amount of fat mass, fat-free and intracellular tissue. For the process of the statistic data (arithmetic average, BMI, standard deviation, tables and graphs) the programme Microsoft Excel 2007 was used. Results: The players of both Czech clubs have a typical body composition for top athletes. It was found out that the goalkeepers have the highest percentage of body fat out of all measured players. Defenders were proved to have the least percentage of body fat among all the measured players. Keywords: Soccer, player posts, body composition, bio impedance
Body composition of elite golfers
Špůr, Ondřej ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pravečková, Petra (referee)
Title: Selected performance indicators of professional golf players. Objectives: The aim is to identify and describe the functional characteristics of elite golf players on the selected parameters of a body composition, a postural stability and a grip strength. Methods: The theoretical part has been processed on the basis of literature search. Participants were professional golf players and coaches (n = 36). Parameters of body composition were measured by the In Body 3.0 and the Datainput BIA 2000, the postural stability was measured by the pressure plate Footscan and the grip strength was measured by the hand dynamometer T.K.K. 5401. Results: In selected parameters of body composition and postural stability achieve elite golfer's good results. Especially in the parameters body mass index (BMI) and % fat came good to excellent results. The grip strength of hand located below on the "grip" is larger than the strength of hand located above on the "grip". The relation between game performance (level of HCP) and selected parameters was not confirmed. Only a slight relation between the HCP and the handgrip strength of hand based above on the "grip" were found. Keywords: Golf, performance, body composition, postural stability, grip strength.
The exercise regimen of high school students and its impact on body composition.
Říha, Radek ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: The exercise regimen of high school students and its impact on body composition Objectives: The main goal is to use a literature research and measurement to identify the current high school population relationship to physical activity and the revenues resulting effect on their body composition. Methods: This work uses the methods of literature analysis and measurement. The target group, consisting of young male probands, is measured in their first year of high school (15 - 16 years). The exercise regimen was tested with pedometers and the body composition was determined by bioelectrical impedance B.I.A. 2000 - M. apparatus. Results: The volume of physical activity in high school is inadequate, which shows both the average number of steps per day and percentage of body fat and the relationship between these two components. Only 2 of 9 students met the standard 10 000 steps per day and the same 2 matched standards of 11,3 % body fat, which evidently shows the relationship of these two components. Further it shown that the implemented exercise regimen has no significant effect on the value of the ECM/BCM Key words: physical acitivity, health, lifestyle, overweight and obesity, body composition
Nutrition and its impact on the physical construction of the athletes.
Vacínová, Gabriela ; Bláha, Pavel (advisor) ; Martinča, Jozef (referee)
This bachelor thesis explores the influence of nutrition on the physical composition of athletes. The present study is firmly grounded in theoretical findings derived from previously conducted studies on the same issue. More specifically, this thesis compares ideal nutrition composition of diet of athletes focusing on power sports with those athletes focusing on endurance sports. Whereas the first group strives to increase the overal weight throught a buildup of muscle weight, the second group is set either to decrease the overal body weight or at least keep such weight around a constant level. Furthemore, the study explores how specific nutrition and various dietary supplementations can be used to produce additional energy or help athletes to gain desired body weight and ideal body structure suitable for a particular sport discipline. Key words: nutrition, power sport, endurance sport, body composition
Anthropological profile of children with diagnosis ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Uhlířová, Jaromíra ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Zemková, Daniela (referee)
This final thesis deals with the anthropological profile of children with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), which is one of the most common psychiatric diagnoses in childhood. Many studies have demonstrated the relationship of ADHD to differences in physical growth, mostly in terms of growth retardation and lower weight parameters. However, these differences are often associated with the use of pharmacological treatment. Some authors point to the possibility of the influence of ADHD itself. In this paper we compare the anthropometric parameters of the 40 boys with ADHD from 6.00 to 10.99 years of age who are treated with medication (methylphenidate) and 172 boys of control group. The compilation of control group for use in clinical research of ADHD was one of the objectives of the thesis. We also compared anamnestic data obtained using questionnaires. It provided information such as birth parameters, duration of breastfeeding, eating habits, amount of time spent in physical activity, or time spent watching television. The control group of healthy individuals was established to better reflect the somatic profile of recent child population and also provided the anamnestic data. Against currently used growth standards control group showed some significant differences, which could be...
