The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide an annotated translation part of book Oľga. Zapretnyj dnevnik into Czech language. The commentary consists of two parts. The first part contains a translation analysis based on the model of Christiane Nord, which within intertextual factors includes also a typology of translation problems on several levels. The next part deals with problems that occurred during the process of translation and their solutions using the model of V. N. Komissarov. As is reflected in the total institution life

The subject of this thesis is a description and analysis of life imprisonment prisoners' daily life. The thesis deals with wider integration of daily life in jail. The jail as an institution and its impact on prisoners' life is described in theory. Problems of life imprisonment, key words connected with daily reality of total institutions and jail as a formal organization are also analysed. This work points out the lost of life imprisonment prisoner's identity and the importance of process adaptation in it. That means that life in jail is connected to identity lost during his collision with total institution. This process of identity lost is obvious particularly in of life imprisonment prisoners. In theoretical part of this thesis I derive from references of sociologists who work with topics of total institutions, stigmatization, moral career, technique of power and other sociological concepts. I try to show the impact of punishment on one's identity, what strategies of dealing with stress prisoners use and the whole picture of prisoner's personality impacted by the isolation from outer world to the end of the life. The diploma thesis Media representation of the construction of gender roles in a total institution on the example of Orange Is the New Black series is a content research with application of qualitative methods, which analyses and describes the use of feminine and masculine gender roles in a women's prison. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part I described the theory, which is essential for understanding the topic. Here I looked into the history and theory of total institutions, prisons and imprisonment. I also put and emphasis on gender, theories of social and media construction of reality and gendered media content. In the second, methodological part I characterized the analysis sample and the research method. I also defined thematic categories, research questions and objectives of the research. The research is based on the ethnographic research of Kateřina Nedbálková. With the help of her analysis I defined the analytical categories, into which I divided the research. I analyzed selected data and from those I deduced relevant conclusions, I answered my research questions and evaluated the given objectives.
Alternative sanctions as a way of solution of woman criminality

Thesis focuses on alternative sanctions as a way of solution of woman criminality. It describes woman criminality, its distinctiveness, by which this criminality differs from man criminality and it also introduces history of this field. It calls attention for special treatment of women, who are due to their anti-social behavior sent to prison and it lists specifics related to their imprisonment. It calls attention for problem of short-term imprisonment and need for finding alternative ways of offenders' punishments. It provides insight into the field of alternative sanctions and considering social role of woman it gives arguments for widening of applying alternative sanctions for this group of offenders. It tries to state in which ways this widening should be reached.
A History of Criminal Law in the Czech Lands in 1848-1989

1 Summary Dissertation builds an objective, transparent, systematic and yet concise interpretation of the history of criminal law in the Czech lands in 1848-1989. The aim of this work is, however, not only to chronologically present the most important criminal codes, but also to tell a parallel story of criminal law science and criminology, which to a bigger or lesser degree substantially influenced the development of criminal law and criminal legislation. Therefore, this work also includes biographical and bibliographical profiles of leading Czech educators, criminal law scientists and criminologists - the founders and pioneers of Czech and Czechoslovak criminal law science, whose lives have been closely linked with the complicated socio-political events of the given historical period. History of criminal law shows a strong interconnection of criminal law and policy, which consequently causes the criminal law without proper criminal law science and criminology to be the most politically affected branch of law. For this dissertation is symptomatic the search for critical causes and factors that lead to progress or, on the contrary, to the decline of criminal law. Antonie Hofman's life and work The thesis will deal with by a remarkable personality of the franciscan terciary Antonie Hofman, who, as an example of his life and his literary work, still has something to say today. Her life is a testimony of personal bravery, modesty, but also of christian joy and the endless human strength and will resulting of solid faith in God. The content of the thesis will be the chronological breakdown of the individual phases of her life, which is crucial for understanding not only her life mission, but also her literary work. In addition, the work will list the publications she has written, with a brief evaluation. Attention is also paid to the catholic movement jocism, which was promoted by Antonie Hofman The work will also note Antonie Hofman's franciscan spirituality, which has shaped her life and work and which she has been able to master in the practice of everyday, often hard life.

Architecture of Power: The Power of Architecture and its effective Use in Law Abstract This thesis is concerned with the relationship between law and architecture and their mutual effects. It is focused on the subject of the prison system where these two fields intertwine, and concludes that the prison system should react to the changing conception of punishment and adapt the appearance of prison buildings. The thesis is divided into six parts which are further subdivided into chapters and subchapters. The first part introduces generally architecture and its mission. First, it deals with the concept itself then with the circumstances under which architecture arises, and also the functions that architecture has in society. It also deals with the impact of a space on humans, with the interconnection of architecture and power or with the representative role of some buildings. This part is a general introduction and it illustrates the nature of the chosen topic of this thesis. The second part deals with the relationship between law and architecture, i.e. how architecture projects into law. Substance use and risk behavior among drug users in prison settings

Introduction: Users of addictive substances are often in conflict with the law and they are considerable part of prison population. In prisons come to using an addictive substances and risky behavior which represent risk to public health, prisoners and employee of prisons. Aims: The aim of the study was to chart and describe formula of risky behavior and using of addictive substances in imprisonment. Methods and sample: Theoretic part contains basic solution of practical part. Using qualitative research, when was as a tool used semi-structured interiview, was data obtained. The research sample, selected by targeted selection, consists of 33 respondents who are clients of addictology services and they have been released in past 12 months from prison. Results: More than half of respondents reported using of addictive substance during imprisonment. The most common were methamphetamine, THC, alcohol and benzodiazepines. Injection method of application addictive substances was reported by 18 percent respondents and 9 percent of respondents were using aplication aids.
