Degenerate art in Nazi Germany, its influence and response in our country
KAŠTÁNKOVÁ, Veronika
This dissertation aims to introduce the concept of the so-called Degenerate art which was created in Nazi Germany. The dissertation focuses on the historical context which led to the emergence of hatred towards modern art and the subsequent impact of Nazism on the German art scene. The main focus is dedicated to the "Degenerate Art" exhibition which represents the climax of Nazi's attempt to ridicule and criticise the avant-garde. A section of the thesis concentrates on the "Great German Art Exhibition", which contained the official works of the Third Reich. As it was opened only few metres from the "degenerate" art, it can be seen as evidence of a well elaborated Nazi propaganda. The influence of Nazi cultural politics and the Degenerate art in Czechoslovakia and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, including summary of the response from historical press, creates an essential part of this dissertation.

This bachelor thesis focuses on higher education in Germany from the view of Czechoslovak students. Time scope of the thesis is limited by years 1918 and 1933. It is based on archive files of Archiv Univerzity Karlovy and contemporary literature. The aim of this thesis is a statistical conclusion of the number of Czechoslovak students who went to study in Germany in the given period of time. It also captures political, economical and study aspects of the studies in the Weimar Republic as well as the problems of the integration of Czechoslovak students in german surroundings. According to the studied sources it is necessary to consistently distinguish Czech and Slovak people on one side and German people at the other side. There were fundamental differences between these nationalities not only in the number of Czech and Slovak people traveling to Germany, but also in the way of intake by the local inhabitans. The Reference of German Imperial Family to Nazism
Kozlová, Tereza ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Horčička, Václav (referee)
The bachelor thesis discussed the attitude of the German imperial family towards Nazism in the 1930s and 1940s. It aimed to answer why the conservative Hohenzollern dynasty collaborated with the radical right wing party and in which areas they seemed to reach the common ground. The first chapter focussed on the relations between the former emperor, Wilhelm II, and the Nazi Party. The following chapters discussed relations between the national socialist government and other dynasty members, including the crown prince Wilhelm and prince August Wilhelm. The author concluded that the relations were of a parasite-like nature, where the emperor tried to use the movement to regain the throne, while the Nazi Party made use of the political capital that the emperor enjoyed with conservative citizens and royalists. The relations were clearly to the Nazi's benefit, who took over the power with the help of the royalists. On the other hand, the links with the Nazi Party disgraced the dynasty. Keywords Hohenzollern, Nazism, Adolf Hitler, Wilhelm II., Hermann Göring, Weimar Republic, restoration of monarchy
