Indicators of educational results in chemistry teaching of the Czech Republic
Tříska, Jan
This thesis focuses on the indicators of quality of education. The indicators are learning exercises the aim of which is to prove whether the tested pupils reached the level of knowledge defined by the national curriculum and listed in the Framework Education Programme. While learning Chemistry, the students should master the key competencies and educational objectives from the education area "Man and Nature" and further from the subject of Chemistry. The thesis focuses on the evidence of reaching the educational goals in Chemistry within the scope of General Chemistry. Since the level of knowledge defined by the Framework Education Programme is not very specific, the author of this thesis decided to settle the educational goals for the subject of General Chemistry based on the study of expert literature and curricular documents. Furthermore, the author also suggests a system of indicators which can be used to verify reaching these goals by the pupils of the secondary schools. The thesis also includes one of the models of working with such indicators. The indicator system was first assessed by a focus group (Chemistry teachers and experts in Didactics of Chemistry). This focus group evaluated the content and the construct validity of the suggested indicators. Afterwards, some of the learning...

Preparation of new didactic materials to support science education at the preschool and primary level
Andrlová, Dominika ; Teplá, Milada (advisor) ; Hybelbauerová, Simona (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the development of natural science literacy of pre-school age children and pupils of younger school age. The aim of this thesis is didactic processing of materials which will enable teachers/lecturers/parents to develop natural science literacy of children, without themselves having to have education in chemistry for correct understanding of the experiment, and thanks to which, at the same time, they could pass on the correct information to children in such way that prevents from the occurrence of natural science misconceptions to a maximum possible extent. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to child ontogenesis in pre-school and early school age, which is subsequently reflected in the creation of materials for development of natural science literacy of this target age category of children. The theoretical work includes also the characterisation of the term natural science literacy as a possible tool for increasing interest in the study of natural sciences. It states the expected positives, but also possible negatives, especially in the form of resulting misconceptions which can be associated to the introduction of natural science education for younger children. In the subsequent part, an analysis of syllabus of natural science-focused subjects at...
The influence of primary prevention in the area of domestic violence
Pištěk, Petr ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor) ; Poláčková, Věra (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the problems of primary prevention in the domestic violence area. Concretely is the author focusing on the influence of the primary school prevention in the domestic violence area on creating of presumptions for school age children emotional stability construction. Title: Analysis of the observance of the objectives of school physical education at primary school graduates. Objectives: The main purpose of this work was to analyze the knowledges, skills and level of physical abilities and attitudes of the 9th year of primary school graduates pursuant to the proposed standards for physical education developed according to the modified RVP ZV. Methods: To collect and successive evaluation of the data was used a questionnaire survey. A total of one hundred and forty students were interviewed, where seventy students were from Písek and seventy students from České Budějovice. Further, their physical education teachers were interviewed. Results: The results of the analysis don't correspond to the expectation that the students have sufficient knowledge of the activities influencing their health and physical education skills. Students don't have sufficient (general) theoretical knowledge from this sphere Keywords: Education standards, basic education, educational framework programs, physical education, movement literacy, student competenc.
Elementary and middle school students and teacher's knowledge of first aid
KNOSOVÁ, Marie
The topic of this bachelor thesis is Knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid provision. The theoretical part defines first aid and describes its types. Subsequent chapters focus on first aid legislation, organisation of the Emergency Medical Service, and available tools for first aid provision. Further follows description of selected basic conditions and associated first aid. Next two chapters deal with first aid education of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools. Last chapter describes the possibility of cooperation with The Czech Red Cross and the Emergency Medical Service, who provide first aid training for schools and public. The practical part consists of qualitative research. Semi-structured interviews with teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in The Vysočina Region were used. In the elementary school the interview was lead with students of the ninth grade and their teachers. In the secondary school the interview was lead with students of the third year and their students. The interviews contained 22 questions focused on the knowledge of first aid and on the issue of first aid education. The interviews are transcribed in the practical part and the answers are also processed in tables for clarity. The conducted research survey showed that knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid is not sufficient and therefore it would be appropriate to include first aid courses in curriculum of each grade/year and also to provide courses for teachers.

Statistical Literacy of Students of Teaching Biology in the Czech Republic
Hybšová, Aneta ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (advisor) ; Švecová, Milada (referee) ; Molnár, Josef (referee)
Especially in connection with the results of the PISA research, the literacy in the natural science field has been lately becoming the topic of scientific discussion. It had become apparent that Czech students attain lower levels of procedural knowledge and face difficulties in evaluation and planning of natural scientific research, when compared to student of other countries. In order to be able to make use of the synergy effect between the natural science literacy and statistical literacy, it is crucial for the students themselves to be literate in statistics. The presented doctoral dissertation focuses on the importance and the matter of statistical literacy among natural science and biology students of pedagogy. The goal of this dissertation is to describe the current state of statistical literacy among students of pedagogy in natural science field. In view of the complexity of the given task; sectional goals have been proposed and executed. Firstly, the expected attainment level among the first year students of universities and colleges is analyzed, with the use of contextual analysis of documents from the Framework educational programs for primary and secondary schools. This analysis shows, what statistical knowledge are pedagogy students of natural science and biology expected to have, based on the...
