Výzkum podpory udržitelné výroby a spotřeby

Projekt je zaměřen na výzkum dobrovolných aktivit podnikatelské sféry v oblasti udržitelné spotřeby a výroby. Cílem projektu je zpracování návrhu programů dobrovolných nástrojů z pohledu udržitelné výroby, udržitelné spotřeby a strategií pro dosažení změn, které budou vycházet z analýzy některých nástrojů udržitelné spotřeby a výroby. Výstupy I. a II. etapy projektu: odborné diskuse, vyhodnocení dotazníkového průzkumu, SWOT analýza, výběr tří odvětvových systémů výroby a spotřeby. Návrh programů a mechanismů podpory dobrovolných aktivit. Návrh malé dobrovolné dohody pro oblast výroby domácích spotřebičů.

Financial analysis of paper industry

The aim of this thesis is to analyze paper industry in Europe and its main representatives. The main source of information for this analysis was database Amadeus and annual reports of the biggest companies in the paper industry. The result of this analysis is that the paper industry is very sensitive to the development of whole economy. Financial results of the industry are therefore very good even in comparison with manufacturing industry if the economy is not in recession.

Evaluation of selected companies using predictive models

The main objective of this Bachelor thesis is to predict the financial situation of selected companies and to assess the explanatory power of prediction models in practice. To achieve this objective, four companies are selected. Oděvní podnik, a.s. and Veba, textilní závody a.s. are representatives of the textile industry. Olšanské papírny a.s and Duropack Bupak Papírna s.r.o. are representatives of the paper industry. One of each pair is considered to be failed and the other one to be a successful company with a financial health. The first part of this Bachelor thesis is aimed at providing a theoretical basis connected with prediction models. In the second part the full of theoretical knowledge is used and there is a practical use of predictive models. In the final part the results are evaluated, compared and the recommendations for the future use of prediction models are summarized.

Tall Soap - Undesirable Waste at Paper Production or Valuable Raw Material?

The paper and pulp industry is due to its huge production capacity source of a big amount of waste - tall soap. This material is often utilized as a not very valuable source of energy, even though it contains many compounds applicable in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food or cosmetics industry. It comprises of a high proportion of fatty and resin acids, used as additives to grease, adhesives, resins, paints or inks. Long-chain aliphatic alcohols serve medical purposes, mainly for atherosclerosis treatment. Phytosterols belong to the most valuable substances contained in the tall soap. These compounds are being applied for hypercholesterolaemia and some types of cancer, they also have a significant therapeutic effect on the cardiovascular and immune systems. Waste tall soap is potentially a very valuable source of a broad spectrum of substances.

Financial analysis of the Westvaco Svitavy, s. r. o.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create financial analysis of the Westvaco Svitavy, s. r. o. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to a methodology of the financial analysis, the other part applies these methods on the Westvaco company. The results are compared with the other companies in the MeadWestvaco corporation and also with the avereges in the industry.
