The role of the father in care of a newborn and a suckling
KOY, Kristina
The bachelor thesis deals with the role of the father in the care of a newborn and a suckling, his attitude and contribution to care. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a research section. In accordance with the topic, the theoretical part deals with prenatal preparation by both parents, newborns, sucklings, and the care for newborns and sucklings in the areas of nutrition, emptying, sleep, hygiene and leisure time. In the second section, we deal with parental and paternal roles in the family in more detail. There were two goals set. The first goal was to map the participation of fathers in the care of newborns and sucklings and the second goal was to map out the fathers' attitudes towards care of the newborns and sucklings. On the basis of these goals, two research questions were asked. The first research question deals with the attitude of the fathers towards newborn and suckling care. The second research question is finding out how fathers are involved in the care of newborns and sucklings. The research was carried out in two phases, using a quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative research was conducted in the form of an internet questionnaire, which included a total of 15 compulsory questions and was attended by a total of 449 respondents. According to the quantitative research, fathers caring for their children are mainly involved in bathing (56%), changing diapers (52%) and playing (73%) with newborns or sucklings. Qualitative research was conducted in the form of semi-structured personal interviews with six fathers aged 25 to 41. The interview contained a total of 17 questions, which were supplemented by additional questions as needed, with three identification questions in the beginning. All participants in the interviews were involved in caring for their children. The hypothesis determined at the assignment was: There are differences in fathers care of newborns and sucklings in relation to the presence of fathers at childbirth. The research showed that the presence of the father at childbirth has no significant effect on his subsequent care of newborns and sucklings. Hence, the hypothesis was rejected.

How adolescents feel their future role of a man and a woman in a partnership/marriage in relation to children.
ČERNÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis aims to establish how the adolescent young people see their future gender role of a man and woman in their partner/marital relationship, last not least with respect to parental planning and upbringing of children. The thesis consists of two parts. The first, theoretical part describes the adolescent age period as the process of maturation and creating the person´s own identity and outlines the comprehensive transformation of somatic, psychic and social personality. Then the basic concepts of male and female roles, their characteristics and the shaping of roles in the context of family, the mutual communication and its influence on upbringing and formation of children are explained. The parents constitute another important concept of the thesis, since they represent a complementary behaviour model that is essential for a child´s healthy development. Another subject is the marital bond and partner´s joint life. The family as an environment for life, its functions, characteristics and contemporary family types is treated extensively, as are the upbringing of children in family, manners of parenting and parenting mistakes. The second, practical part of the thesis contains a research study relying on quantitative methodology, using a non-standardized questionnaire designed by the author. The research sample was obtained by available selection method and the respondents are residents of Vimperk and its surroundings. The questionnaire was administered electronically. The research population consists of adolescents (boys and girls) aged between 15 and 22 years who live in Vimperk, commute to the town to school or employment or who live in nearby municipalities within approximately 15 km radius. The questionnaire was designed to establish the attitudes of young people, specifically on the respective roles of the woman as mother and of the man as father and on the way they influence their children. This subject was approached from two perspectives. First it was studied how the respondents perceive the role distribution and parenting influence exerted by their parents on them as their children, in their original family. The aim of second perspective was to establish how the respondents themselves imagine their future roles of a man and woman in the family and their future parenting characteristics. Also of interest was which way of living together the young people prefer, what family means to them and whether they consider having children in the future.
The suppressed problem in the Czech Republic: fathers who care after divorce for their children
Simbartlová, Kateřina ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Švihálková, Kateřina (referee)
In the preconception of a large part of society, there is the notion that "dads do not want to pay for their children" or may not take care of them after the divorce. Even fewer people care about the dads who would like to care for their children, but they are prevented in various ways, whether by a former partner or by the authorities. In my work I will deal with the social problem of fathers who try to care for their children after the divorce. The importance of a father's role in raising a child is not well-appreciated, and in some cases it may happen that the mother is preferred. The reason is socially prejudiced that care belongs to mothers, which is also built the concept of parental role. The consequence of this prejudice is that in our country there is still no common alternate care, as it is in other European countries. Some fathers agree that his father's role after divorce is not considered as important and just as maternity. But there are also those who ask for their right to equal education of children after their divorce to be respected. The fact that not every father has enough contact with a child, but requires care, I will demonstrate in 3 case studies. Thanks to their writings, expert opinions, interviews, and interviews with experts, I can outline real cases of cervical care in...
