Benešová, Martina ; Nekvapil, Jiří (advisor) ; Havlík, Martin (referee)
(in English) Language management of selected phenomena in Common Czech The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find out, whether the phenomena of Common Czech are being influenced by language management, when it happens and to which extent. To a major extent, the work is of an empirical character. The major theoretical and methodological sources are the book by James Wilson Moravians in Prague and article by Jiří Neustupný Sociolingvistika a jazykový management. The major objective of the work is to link the methodology with the theoretical findings in the areas of language management and variation sociolinguistics. The book by Wilson will serve as a source of information for the sociolinguistic part. For the analysis, I have selected the same linguistic phenomena as Wilson did, in particular the following ones: A) phonological ones: 1) V-insertion; 2) É-raising; 3) Ý-diphtongization and B) grammatical ones: 4) paradigm unification (by third, fourth and fifth verb class); 5) L-truncation (by first and second verb class); 6) gender neutralisation. These selected phenomena will be studied based on the language used by the lecturers during their lectures of non-linguistic subjects of study at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles University in Prague (FF UK). The following methodological approach...
Probe into religious Life in the Czech Republic (The Kladno town example)
Lapková, Eliška ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Zoufalá, Marcela (referee)
Probe into religious life in the Czech Republic would certainly be beneficial for the Czech sociology and religious studies, her research and treatment would not necessarily have to be based on several years of research activity. Due to the type of work I have therefore decided to focus on selected Czech city whose religious life might yield representative results. The task was daunting. The main stumbling block appeared to be time-consuming and the amount of data required for processing. The entire probe is based on socio-anthropological empirical research to not even bring religionistic theological knowledge, although it is clear that their job does not shirk. In culturologistic context is the focus of interest in the work of churches and religious associations as a subculture, their inner and outer life, forms of communication with the urban community and defining against her and against other religious groups. In this context attention is paid to the question of how different religious groups perceived their predominantly atheistic environment. Processed results should bring both the synthetic evaluation of the religious life of the city selected as the more general conclusions about the importance and possibilities of life in contemporary Czech society and last but not least, the conclusions...

The Impact of Financial Variables on Czech Macroeconomic Developments: An Empirical Investigation
Adam, Tomáš ; Plašil, Miroslav
This paper investigates empirically to what extent financial variables can explain macroeconomic developments in the Czech Republic and how the results are sensitive to some (usually reasonable or routinely made) modeling choices. To this end, the dynamic model averaging/selection framework is applied to a universe of (potentially large) time-varying parameter VAR models, which allows one to assess the explanatory power of financial variables at each point in time. Based on a set of 27 competing models and an extensive ensemble of alternative specifications of those models, we find that financial variables were particularly relevant in explaining developments in the lead-up to and during economic downturns. By contrast, in tranquil times, models containing only traditional macroeconomic variables explained macroeconomic dynamics reasonably well. Within the broad set of financial variables considered, credit to the private sector, bank profitability, and leverage seem to be among the most relevant indicators.

Pedagogical Technique in the Grammar of Noun Declension in German as a Foreign Language
JÁNSKÁ, Veronika
This work is focused on a mediation of grammar in teaching of the German language in primary schools. The main attention is paid to the declension of nouns. I chose for the comparison two completely different outlined textbooks. In view of the fact, that still quite a large number of primary schools teaches according to the textbook "Heute haben wir Deutsch", I decided to confront this textbook with its more modern successor "Deutsch mit Max" and determine whether the conception of modern textbooks differ from those older ones only graphic, i. e. with illustration, and themes that correspond to the age of pupils, or with regard to grammar (the other choice, progression and quantity of grammar structures), and thus are these textbooks more suitable for the current teaching of the German language. Subsequently are the results of this work compared with the views of pupils who are taught according to these textbooks.
