Experimental schools in the twenties of the twentieth century in Czechoslovakia

The bachelor thesis deals with education at the beginning of the 20th century. Subsequently, the work deals with reform pedagogy and experimental schools in the 1920´s, from which the Experimental Working School in Holešovice and the Eduard Štorch Children's Farm is analyzed. The practical part contains qualitative research and deals with two research questions, to which it seeks answers in research.

Children´s group as one of the forms of preschool education

The topic of the presented bachelor's thesis is the children's group as one of the forms of preschool education and training. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the topic of education and training in preschool institutions. It discusses the children's group as an alternative to pre-school education in kindergarten This part of the thesis also compares children's groups with kindergarten - pointing out the different and similar features of both of these institutions. The research in the practical part of the thesis was based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. The questionnaire survey method was used for the quantitative part, and the interview method was used for the qualitative part. The research group consisted of parents of children attending a children's group. The common goal of the research was to determine how the parents of children attending a children's group view the children's group, to discover their motivation for choosing it over other institutions, and to find what parents believe the purpose of children's groups is. The research showed that parents have a positive attitude towards children's groups and evaluate the service of child care in a children's group as beneficial. They perceive the children's group as a fully satisfactory alternative to kindergartens which can significantly help with the lack of places in kindergartens. Above all, parents are motivated to choose a children's group over other institutions not only by its specifics, but also by their own needs as well as the needs of their children. They see the meaning of children's groups primarily in helping them harmonize their family and work life.

Alternative Schools in the South Bohemian Region

The Bachelor Thesis on the topic of Alternative Schools in the South Bohemian Region is based on a literary research that describes distribution and types of school institutions in the Czech Republic. For the needs of getting valuable information for the research, an alternative school in České Budějovice was chosen. The theoretical part of the Bachelor Thesis is focused on the differences between classic school education and alternative education form, different structures of the teaching plan and a different approach towards education form in general. For the practical part of the Thesis, qualitative research was conducted and the information obtained from this research was used. The data are then systematically arranged in tables, graphs and mind maps. In the final part of the work, we will discuss the topic and the research results. The conclusion includes an overall summary of the whole work and the main advantages and disadvantages of an alternative education system.

The choice of alternative nursery school - Montessori school

My bachelor´s thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on alternative pedagogy of Maria Montessori. The theoretical part also deals with key words of Maria Montesori´s educational concep. The practical part explores and verifies with parents´ interest of Montessori preschool as an educational choice for their children.

Alternative education and its view of nutrition and eating pupils nowadays.

The diploma thesis deals with alternative education and its view on the nutrition and eating habits of pupils nowadays. The work aims to find out, how alternative schools view the quality and use of the food basket within eating and nutrition of children in comparison with the traditional school. My interest was to find out the opinion of parents, how they view their children's eating in alternative schools and whether they attach great emphasis to it. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the comparison of alternative and traditional education with emphasis on the development, nutrition and eating of children. The practical part includes the results of a qualitative research survey, which was carried out with the help of analysis of available sources and subsequent study of interviews.

Mapping of a social services at the halfway house in Český Krumlov

The bachelor work focuses on a mapping of the social service in the Halfway House in Český Krumlov. The theoretic part includes chapters about the family and the child education, about juveniles, the alternative family care and state family care institutions. Following chapters describe a sphere of the social care, its definition, legislative and forms how it can be provided. The final chapter gives general specifications of the Halfway House social service. Part of the bachelor work was the research project that tries to map the social service provided by the Halfway House in a period 2010-2019. The analysis of datas and the quantitave processing of obtained datas was used.

Teaching literature in genre-thematic units at the ISCED level in the context of an alternative study programme

This thesis, entitled A case study: the teaching of literature in genre-themed units at the ISCED 3 level in the context of an alternative study program, focuses on a, in our environment, non-traditional approach to teaching literature in high schools, based on a unique study program. The thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part includes the definition of the term "literary education" along with its insertion into the context of the educational plan outline for high schools. Furthermore, the definition of the term "alternative schooling" is given, and the terms that are subsequently used in the empirical part - reading and reading literacy, formative assessment, Content and Language Integrated Learning, and tandem teaching - are also defined. Finally, the period of adolescence is described, with an emphasis on the psychological and social characteristics of an individual. The aim of the empirical part was to describe how teaching takes place in an alternative study program at the ISCED 3 level, with an emphasis on the teaching of literature arranged into genre-themed units. Motivation of parents in choosing alternative nursery schools - Maria Montessori

The aim of this bachelor thesis entitled: "Motivation of parents in choosing alternative kindergartens - Maria Montessori" is to describe and analyze in more detail the reform pedagogy of Maria Montessori, the development of preschool Montessori facilities in the Czech Republic and comparison with traditional kindergartens. It also aims to present the specific use of the principles of Montessori pedagogy in the selected facility and outline other alternative pedagogical directions. The empirical part uses the research method of interviewing parents in Montessori kindergarten. The interview is purely anonymous and the aim is to find out for what purpose they put their children in the kindergarten, what they expect from it and if they apply Montessori pedagogy outside it.
