Kurucová, Nina ; Daniel, Ladislav (advisor) ; Fišerová, Zuzana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with Gothic art in Bohemia. The work is divided into three parts. The first, theoretical part, contains a brief introduction, which includes basic information about the Gothic style, followed by exploration of the architecture of Monastery of St. Agnes, which is considered one of the first early Gothic buildings in Bohemia. Subsequently, architectural elements from the High Gothic period, specifically gargoyles and mascarons on the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert in Prague, are examined. Lastly, the theoretical part includes a presentation of the works of Master Theodorik, as a representative of painting of this period. The didactic part describes an educational project for pupils of the 7th grade of primary school. This project builds upon the various types of Gothic visual arts - architecture, sculpture, painting. The thematic unit begins with a visit to the Monastery of St. Agnes of Bohemia. In the first art task, students create the facade of an urban Gothic house. The last artistic task is the transfer of a drawing from the original of Master Theodorik's works using a grid and subsequently painting it. The last part complements and concludes the entire...
Gender Identity in the Work of Claude Cahun
Hapková, Tereza ; Magidová, Markéta (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the question of gender identity in the artistic production of French artist Claude Cahun. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the concept of sex, gender and identity in the context of Claude Cahun's life. Furthermore, her multiple selves, which she presents in her work through encrypted messages, is an important topic. She hides in her constructed world full of masks, masquerades, mirrors, doubles and stagings, behind the curtain of which she only let her partner, Suzanne Malherbe. The didactic part of the bachelor's thesis is focused on the proposal of the use of the photomontage technique in art education and its connection with other disciplines. The initial inspiration comes from the photomontages contained in the book Aveux non avenus, complementing the mostly autobiographical text by Claude Cahun. The main theme of the book is the search for oneself and one's own identity through text and illustrative images. In the book, Cahun has created her own world by rearranging her photographs and forming new wholes, which she has achieved through photomontage. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the photographic work of Claude Cahun. I first discuss the principles in her photographic work and their more general analysis. I then analyse three...
Shadows have eyes
Grűnwaldová, Glorie ; Nádvorník, Filip (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
My Bachelor thesis continues in longer-term work, which is spinning around curiosity, feeling of being watched and maybe even paranoia. It is based on my own experiences, which are related to today's digitized world. We can argue about whether there is privacy or we really live in a place of easily detectable information. These experiences are also based on anxiety and some sort of self control. In my paintings I try to move over the weight of this theme and work with humor. There are moments that make no sense, they are stylized into exaggerated form. The expression of the image is also important, painting itself and combination of techniques. My main goal is to share, lighten these experiences, but also transfer energy throughout the painting.

Selfies as a tool of gender identity construction
Gejdošová, Iva ; Kobová, Ĺubica (advisor) ; Pavlík, Petr (referee)
Taking selfies is a technique of self-monitoring, gaze and comparison, drawing from its regulatory force upon women. The photo-taking practice marks the surveillance of how individual gender performances fulfill the expectations of existing gender norms. The contemporary postfeminist hegemonic femininity presents woman as owning the right kind of dispositions, such as confidence or sexiness, in which case the area of the body plays a central role. In order to explore how performances of such femininity are constructed, this study uses content analysis to study the visual and textual content of Instagram posts. This master thesis analyses whether the Instagram users tagging posts #zanormalniholky (#fornormalgirls) are responsive through selfies to postfeminist femininity or rather use it as a form of resistance against the postfeminist discourse. Identity, including gender identity, is constituted through acts that purport to be its consequence. Selfies - as the results of this thesis show - have normative potential. Key words postfeminism, selfie, Instagram, social media, gender, self-portrait, self-presentation, feminism, #zanormalniholky, femininity, makeover paradigm
