Primary school teacher's perspective on inclusive education

This diploma thesis focuses on inclusive education and its close aspects, especially the perspective of elementary school teachers. The thesis itself is divided into several chapters. These explain the theoretical framework of inclusion in special pedagogy and associated topics, for example, a shift in a perception of a person with disabilities in individual periods, basic possible approaches to children's education, ie terms of exclusion, segregation, integration, and lastly, inclusion itself. They explain their definitions or principles. School legislation in the Czech Republic is also part of the thesis. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the topics mentioned above and deals with the concepts related to education and special education in general, such as school as social institutions and individual social and professional roles in it, the concept of socialization or international trends in special pedagogy. The practical part contains qualitative research, ie structured interviews with specific pedagogical staff and outputs from these interviews. The job content of teaching assistant in distance learning

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of teaching assistants during distance learning in primary schools. The declaration of a state of emergency in March 2020 created a completely new situation for teaching staff that they had to deal with. In this work, the content of the work of teaching assistants in this period will be monitored, the support of children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds by these teaching staff and, last but not least, the changes that took place among teaching assistants after the return to traditional face-to-face teaching will be mentioned.
What is the attitude of special educators to the policy of inclusion?

The bachelor's thesis deals with the opinions of special educators in special schools on inclusion. Although they are not direct actors of inclusion, they are workers in education and it can be useful to know their opinion. The aim of this work is to find out the opinion of the interviewed special education teachers, and then compare them with the opinions of other respondents. In the theoretical part, I deal with the concept of inclusion, the definition of the role of a special pedagogue in a special school, I state who is a pupil with special educational needs, I present two special schools in České Budějovice, in which special pedagogues teach, who were used as respondents in the practical part, and finally, I present the theory of street- level bureaucracy and the theory of the role of line workers in public policy, with whom I continue to work in the practical part. In the practical part, I present qualitative research using four semi-structured interviews and analysis of media outputs of special educators in newspapers and on the Internet. Well-thought-out cooperation between the teacher and the teacher's assistant not only leads to more efficient work, but is also very beneficial for students and the classroom climate. Already at the beginning of their cooperation, it is necessary to have clear nules, roles and competences set.. I focused my research on the cooperation of a teacher and a teacher's assistant, on the factors that influence the cooperation in everyday practice. The first part of the thesis contains a theoretical definition of this issue. It deals with the concepts of inclusion and inclusive education. It characterizes the position of a teacher and a teacher assistant within the teaching process and its legislative anchoring. The empirical part of the work is devoted to the research of mutual satisfaction of cooperation between respondents. A teacher and a teacher's assistant from a small school participate in the research, followed by teachersmand teaching assistans from several schools in the surrouding area.. The role of the teacher assistant in the process of inclusive education in primary and secondary schools

This diploma thesis consists of the role of teaching assistant in an inclusive education in elementary and middle school. Theorethical part is devided into four parts and explains theorethical points. It discusses the position of the teaching assistant, the assistant's role in the education of pupils with and without special educational needs, the cooperation of the teaching assistant with other teachers and parents and last but not least about the pupils with special educational needs and their education. Empirical part is focused on the role of the teaching assistant in the process of an inclusive education in an selected elementary and middle school, in which it contains a qualitative study, which results in a situational study of the school. Semi- structured interviews were used in the research as well as observation and analysis of documents. The goal of this research is to analyse the work of teaching assistants at the selected school. The results of this research bring information about how the teaching assistant profession is perceived and used at this specific school. The diploma thesis can be used as an example of a good practice on how to use the teaching assistant in an inclusive education.
Pedagogical assistant in a school club and children with behavioral disorders

The main research objective of this thesis is to find out how pedagogical assistants and educators in after-school clubs think about educating children with behavioural disorders and behavioural problems. The first chapter attempts to distinguish between behavioural disorders and behavioural problems, defines ethopedics and behavioural disorders, their etiology, and diagnostics. The second chapter deals with inclusive education for students with special needs and defines the position of teaching assistants in terms of Czech legislation. The third chapter presents qualitative research consisting of four phenomenological interviews. The research aim is to explore and understand the experience of pedagogical assistants and educators in after-school clubs educating children with behavioural disorders and behavioural problems. The findings of the research are compared with the theory presented in the professional literature, and, in conclusion, recommendations for educational practice are suggested.
Teacher's cooperation and teacher assistant in educational process of pupils with special educational needs

The topic of the bachelor thesis is focused on the support measures of the teaching assistant with a profile on the cooperation between the teacher and the teaching assistant in the education of pupils with special educational needs. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to elaborate the current knowledge related to the above mentioned topic of the thesis and then to describe effective and functional ways of cooperation from the participants point of view. The thesis is divided into two main parts. A theoretical part and a practical part. In the first part, the theoretical basis of the mentioned issue is elaborated into 3 chapters. The first chapter deals with the profession of teaching assistant and the proposal of changes in relation to the amendment of the Education Act. The second chapter focuses on the system of education of pupils with special educational needs and the last chapter is devoted to the cooperation between the teaching assistant and the teacher. The second part of the thesis includes the questionnaire survey itself, supplemented by qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews. A total of 873 respondents took part in the questionnaire survey. Subsequently, one teaching assistant and one teacher were interviewed. The research investigation shows that functional cooperation occurs primarily when there is mutual communication, when the teacher and assistant understand each other and are tuned to the same wave, when rules are set out and the competences of the participants in the cooperation are determined, and when there is sufficient trust and mutual respect between them. Joint preparation and consultation are important for effective collaboration, and attention should also be paid to the equal and partner relationship. At the heart of it all is the willingness and interest to cooperate. The results of the questionnaire survey were subsequently confirmed in interviews with the teacher and the assistant.
Use the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment at special educators in South Bohemia region

The thesis deals with the use of Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment by school special educators working in the South Bohemia region. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment is used by the addressed special educators. The research was carried out by qualitative research through semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted with five special educators working in the South Bohemia region who are trained in the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment. The results of the research are divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the motivation for training, the second part focuses on the use of the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment by the interviewed special educators in practice, and the third and final part describes their perspective on the process of training in this method. The results of the research show that the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment finds its use among the special educators interviewed when working with pupils with different types of special educational needs, who make noticeable progress after its application. The research may serve to motivate other special educators to be trained in this method.
Perception of distance learning from the perspective of teachers to student with special educational needs in primary education

The aim of the diploma thesis and research project is to find out the pitfalls and positives of distance education in realiton to pupils with special educational needs in mainstream schools from the point of view of teachers. The work responds to the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, when education was forced to introduce nationwide distance education. In the theoretical part, the work deals with pupils with special educational needs and legislation, counseling system and inclusive education belonging to them. Furthermore, the factors influencing the educational process of pupil with SEN are defined, with and emphasis on the framework educational program of basic education, support measures, teaching assistants and methods and forms of work with these pupils. The last chapter is devoted to distance education, where the elements of distance education, the conducted research and the cooperation of all actors involved in education during the pandemic are described. The empirical part, with the help of a qualitative investigation using the techniques of analysis of the studied literature and semi-structured interviews, ascertains the experiences of teachers with distance education for pupils with special educational needs. Utilization of Maria Montessori Pedagogy Teaching Aids in Classes with Mentally Handicapped Pupils

The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to evaluate a long-term use of Marie Montessori's teaching aids in education of pupils with mental impairment. The theoretical part outlines a new paradigm of the whole discipline of special pedagogy and defines the subject and objectives of psychopaedia. A separate chapter is The following chapter explains the term mental disability and the development of the related terminology. Dedicated to the teaching of pupils with special educational needs. The last chapter describes the scientific education of Marie Montessori, the principles of Montessori pedagogy as an alternative way of education and is being concentrated on prepared didactic material and its use in work with children with mental deficiency - mental development disorder. The research process in the practical part is implemented by the method of qualitative approach and the research design of case study and partly multiple case study too. Furthermore, there were implemented qualitative data collection techniques such as the method of participated observation and in-depth interview, an analysis aimed at looking into the level of school skills and the results of activity in specific areas during one school year. A researcher's diary and documentation study were used as well. The concluding part presents the succesfull confirmation of the given aim based on the research and obtained theoretical fidings. There is an evaluation and analysis of the achieved educational goals in particular subject matter of Mathematics with a long-term application of Montessori pedagogy teaching aids while teaching particular pupils with mental handicap/disability. The use of other aids of this pedagogical system even outside the observed area proved to be beneficial.
